1. no, no, no!
V. n.y. ,   Usa   (10.18.06)
don't do this, ms. rice. do not give ANY military aid to this organization. history taught ua a lesson that if there are two gov't factions in that region, the military equipment will surly end up in the wrong hands. once these are given, the usa has NO CONTROL WHERE THEY'LL END UP!
2. GOOD GOING-things are changing
American ,   USA   (10.18.06)
Palestinians need to protect themselves from the IDF- they keep killing people everyday- and it must suck for the opressed and occupied Arab side- they have a right to self defense-
3. No Safeguards for Israel
Marcel ,   Florida   (10.18.06)
No safe guards just as this president has nevere ,never held the Palestinians accountable to any agreements or anything else for that matter. JUST MORE EMPTY PROMISES AND EMPTY WORDS . The only concern shown by the Bush administration is for the Palestinian terrorists whom he has turned into victims under hisfinal solution road map. It amy be too late for the ghetto Jews to wake up and escape the snare of this man who by peace destroys many many Jews.
4. Rice:Safeguard US aid to Abbas
Arie ,   Afula   (10.18.06)
yeah - with enough arms and money, abbas may be try another massacre like he did at Munich
5. Weapons to Abbas=Fatah=Terrorists!
Cynic ,   USA   (10.18.06)
6. yes, so much progress was made with abbas
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (10.18.06)
under abbas the peace process got exactly nowhere. israel withdrew from gaza unilaterally, why? because ABBAS refused to negotiate the terms of withdrawal. ah, yes, the good old days of arafat. whoops, i mean abbas.
7. NO MORE ARMS!!!
israeli ,   israel   (10.18.06)
No more arms to the Palestinians. PERIOD!!!
8. Maybe, we should shoot at our feet.
John ,   USA   (10.18.06)
I know of no other way to shoot ourselves in the foot easier. The United States for its part in sponcering the Road Map peace process has created a terroist state. This state physically borders Israel and harbors terrorist, is run by terrorist, and is populated by terrorist who attack Israel on a daily basis. The Hamas, the rulling terrorist party, has killed Americans as-well-as many other innocents. The State department represent the United States is totally ignoring the Bush doctrine and has with its power and might created this terrrorist state. Now the United States is giving aid and comfort to this very same terrorist state. According to the Bush docrine, we should be attacking ourselves. Today I find that the United States State department is condemming Israel (formally) for not allowing the American government to assist in the rebuilding of the Palestinian Authority and to invest in its economy. Well, whooppeee why is the state department soooo upset with foregin aid to Iran, after all its just another trerrorist state? Why, the State Department should file a complaint with itself. It would make more sence. Don't you think?
9. best safeguard... give them no weapons!
(10.18.06)
10. How many more times???
marya ,   sacramento, USA   (10.18.06)
How many more times is the US going to be suckered into giving these lying b#stards weapons to kill Jews? What happened to the Bush Doctrine about fighting "terror" wherever they found it? This repeatedly making the same mistakes over and over again does not bode well for any of us. The Palestinians are laughing their asses off at the stupid gullible Infidel. Those weapons are not to kill HAMAS - they are to kill Israelis. They've ALWAYS been used to kill Israelis. I spit on this stupid, suicidal so-called, "diplomacy" Please America stop "helping" Israel and go away to screw somthing else up far far away from us...
11. John is right!
Marya ,   sacramento, USA   (10.18.06)
The US has single-handedly helped create a more terror infested State then originally existed. With America's "help" Gaza became Judenrein. After thy US pushed for "democratic" elections, HAMAS came into office. Then the US gave the poor pitiful PLO more rifles because they didn't have enough to kill Jews, er umm "terrorists." Since the IDF left the Philidelphi corrider - thanks to Ms Rice - tons of weapons have been smuggled in. THANK YOU CONDI AND GEORGE FOR HELPING BRING PEACE TO ISRAEL.... Go help France would ya?
12. Your precious Republicans
Paul ,   Austin, USA   (10.18.06)
I hope Israelis finally recognize that no political US party is going to rubber stamp every Israeli demand. The US pumps billions into your coffers annually, so be certain that our gov'ts will take whatever liberties they choose regarding Palestinians. You people cozied up to the GOP and their repugnant doomsday-evangelical christian electoral base for a very superficial and short term gain... which really resulted in what? Disengagement, a failed war with Hizbullah quacks, Hamas election victory, etc. And you still have incoming qassams. Perhaps you'll be a bit more wary in the future, but I'm not counting on it.
13. Arm Israel not Abbas.............
Johnson ,   USA   (10.18.06)
14. * YAWN *
kevo ,   Miami, FL   (10.18.06)
Three weeks from now...after the Dems take back the House of Representatives from the GOP...Ileana Ros-Lehtinen will no longer matter and noone will care what she says because she'll no longer be chairwoman. Bye lil' suck-up.
15. Force 17 is a terror group. DISARM them!
Preston ,   USA   (10.18.06)
16. ARMS NOT NEEDEDD
Arik Silverman ,   Milwaukee USA   (10.19.06)
That huge body guard for Abbas is larger than Adolf Hitler's Leibstandart. Abu Quisling doesn't need it. This is a plot by the US to start a Palestinian civil war. Israel will not benefit from such a war.
17. Bush needs to butt out
Gladys ,   Mesa USA   (10.19.06)
Here Bush goes trying to start another civil war by arming one faction of the Palestinians. The civil war in Iraq is coming along nicely, thanks to Bush. U.S. needs to get out of the weapons/military support business....it usually turns out badly for the recipients. Shutting off aid to belligerants would force them to seek peaceful solutions instead of dominating because of military superiority. That goes for aid and weaponry to Israel as well.
