I know Muslims here in the USA that have served in the United States Military..... MY A** it's a religious thing. I feel that if you live in democratic country and your asked to serve, you need to serve..... No and's, If's, or But's. GO SERVE YOUR COUNTRY!

I'm an Israeli Arab and will happily serve MY country. On the other hand MY country should be prepared to give me equal rights and eliminate racism against me in every walk of life. Including the right to buy land from a Jew, live anywhere I wish in MY country. I expect MY country to pass anti discrimination laws and punish to the full extent of the law any racist Jew who discriminates against me.

if you serve in the army to protect our country which we both call home..i dont see why you should not receive the same rights and privileges as everyone else. As a jew, I am extremely peeved by the fact that we treat people like second class citizens and then we are surprised when you hate us. Israel sux when it comes to bureacracy we all suffer the same outcome..but as to your being able to purchase property then you should be able to do so, if you serve and defend your country that is how it should be.

I fully agree with Rami. Israel should first dismantle its apartheid system before asking its arab citizens to do their obligations as citizens of a "democratic statyes". And by the way what about the 13 arabs murdered by Israeli police several several years ago during a peaceful demostration? No one has been brought to justice yet? Right? Where is your democracy then? Who has to leave here according to international law, the native inhabitants of the country or those who come from Russia, Poland, Romania, .... claining that they had a kingdom here 2500 years ago. As a european non-jew living in Israel, I agree with you that Israel still has some racial discriminations to get to grips with - but who can blame her! They do not discriminate against Israeli-Arabs only, but against ALL people from all other religions - yet this is the only way that the Jewish people can make sure that there will not be another Holocaust. I don't see any Arab countries offering Israeli-Arabs anything better and you live here, under the protection of the Israeli Army - the children of your neighbours. It is only fair that ALL Israeli citizens, regardless of their religion, serve in the army. Perhaps that way, we can get to equality with our host - the JEWISH State - by showing her our support and thanks for her protection.

When your country calls, you answer, that is the bottom line, if not, don't live there. It is obvious that if treatment isn't fair, and equal, and everyone doesn't shoulder the responsibilities then there will be racism. If Arabs don't serve and Jews do, that will create a feeling of Arabs being lesser citizens. And religion is not an excuse, killing your own is not an excuse, cause your own should be Israeli's all alike. In Canada Indians don't pay taxes, and it creates a genual perception of them being freeloaders and banes of society. They are looked down upon. To ask to be treated equal requires a share of responsibility, if you want all the perks but none of the work, you are asking for descrimination and racial tension then. Common Sense to most. That is very true, the Canadian army is made up of all cultures and ethnicities, but when we go to war, we are one team, one family, we are our own. I agree with you 100% that you should be treated equal, the only question now would be , do you enlist before you get your rights, or do you get your rights first. Boths sides are right, why enlist, if you don't get the equal treatment, and there side, why give you the equal treatment if you don't shoulder the equal responsibility. The point is that Israeli Arabs are not willing to be true Israeli citizens. They agree to receive welfare but they refuse to deserve it. Moreover, these so-called discriminations are part of the victimist Arab mindset. For example, Arabs claim that their children have poor results at school because they are discrimated and don't receive enough money for their schools. However, according to statistics, Arab Christian children are as succesful as Jewish children. Muslim Arabs are immature, if they don't work, nobody will work for them.

Jews or to Arabs, Israel or to Arabia? No Jew would want their lives protected by non Jews, by Arabs who support the enemy, who are the enemy.

Haredim who are against the State of Israel, like most Arabs in Israel, do not vote and do not accept money or any services from the State of Israel. Arabs take money, vote, and use all the services BUT do not serve. As a first step, they should leave Knesset and not accept any money from the State of Israel.

Army is only one of them. Arab should be recruited to volunteer in hospital, police etc. Even in their own communities. But serving in a Jewish community will dogood to the Israeli society

since they dont work and dont vote. The Shas schools are longer and are the produce better students, students who respect their teachers and their parents. The Shas schools include secular studies, and are well learned in math. It would do good to research about their schools. In regards to anti-voting/anti-welfare Jews, they are the NK which is such a small minority, they only exist for the camera and the media.

Guys what are you talking about? Lets make it clear. Suppose Arabs will be drafted and they got training and military equipment; in case of a conflict with neghbouring countries will the fight? Is there a chance that they will turn their weapons agains their Jewish comarades? If there is even a slight chance -- then who needs this? If there still no trust between Jews and Arabs how in the whole world they can serve together?

Enough of the bickering about who deserves to serve and who doesn't. EVERYONE, of ANY BACKGROUND in the state of Israel must serve. It doesn't matter who you are. It will be a difficult change to accept at first, but give it time, and I GUARANTEE it will prove to be the great social equalizer everyone's been looking for.
