The story is definitely true. I've read about it over the years, that is about the Germans forcing Jewish slaves to print the money. I even have some of it, inherited from a relative who survived living in France in WW II thanks to the kindness of French people who hid him and his family. The money is quite different from the sterling of not long ago, big white notes with beautiful engraving and fine water marks-class A job. I even took some to the Bank of England to see whether it might be real. They took it and told me if its not, they would confiscate it, which they did. The Bank of England never formally admitted of the plot and shortly after the war they withdrew all the old currency and came out with new. At least some of it was put to a good purpose.
