Brant, I didn't see "your" country (the US) rushing in to aid the jews - indeed it is well-documented that many US companies aided the Nazi war effort (IBM being the most famous) so your point is without substance. Where I am from we had a case recently where a family of a camp survivor was sueing one of our museums because their ancestor had to SELL (not discard or throw away) art treasures they had and these had ended up, after many changes of owners, in our museum. Now they family them back - at the price they sold them at in the '30s. The very fact that many here applaud what was basically theft just adds creedence in they eyes of the world to the stereotypical image of the "money-grabbing jew"

The Nazis stole our families lives & more, & your complaining that we are money-grabbing for laughing at the irony of this? Do you know nothing of the Holocaust experience? It was & is that intense. It was that horrible. It is still that horrible to have someone point out "money-grubbing" stereotypes. It was war, & our people got decimated, so this was the weapon we used to fight back? This hurt a lot less people than many of the English, U.S., Russian and world's decisions in this war & after it. Correction on Fact: It was not IBM. It was IBM Germany. The two had been finacially separated. (Watson did know though.) There's a detailed book on it by Edwin Black. Watson Jr. was very unproud of his father's choices & apologized & built a company with exceptional integration of people of every ilk. If you have a valid case then I hope you win in court. If not then I hope you lose. Just because someone sues the facts still need to be laid out before a decision can be determined. One question I'd ask upfront, was the sale forced in exchange for their lives? Also alternatively remember victims sometimes use money as a compensation to get back a piece of themselves that was lost (& the children of holoc. do live with the loss)...is it so here? Or is there no good reason for their sueing?
