1. "the ISLAND" for real !!!

2. Easy to be Judgmental when it is not your life at stake.
RyanH ,   Ashdod Israel   (10.29.06)
Personally I see it as a good way for these prisoners to repay their debts to society. Issues with organs being taken out while alive are technical objections, but in theory where is the ethical problem ?
3. Organ Donors
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (10.29.06)
A little public education by the members of your medical profession, I'm sure, would help a lot to alleviate that problem. I don't know how it is in other countries or US States, but in this State driver's licenses show in red letters that a person is an organ donor. I don't remember when, but someone must have asked for that info. at one point. (I can't imagine who'd want these "scraps" for what, but they're welcome to whatever they can salvage.)
4. Major Sin!!!
Ron ,   New York, USA   (10.29.06)
We here in the USA know that the Chicoms murder those arrested for minor crimes IN ORDER to harvest their organs. For Jews to take part in this is criminal in the exteme, and inexcusable!
5. #4, This would also be my concern
Steve ,   USA   (10.29.06)
We know China does forced abortions. Baby girls are left exposed to die a slow death. Chinese are not exactly moral according to Jewish ethical standards. It's seems however, neither are we.
6. Look who's noticing!
Shai ,   Israel   (10.29.06)
Bad for business?
7. SHAME ON YOU ISRAELIS!
MarlĂȘne ,   FRANCE   (10.29.06)
Did it EVER occur to you that perhaps it wasn't the Almighty's will for you to receive an organ? Christiandom knows that many, many Chinese are jailed and tortured for their belief & faith in Christ. A very high price to pay indeed, as China is as ammoral as it gets. Taking what isn't yours will not bring about blessing. Quite the contrary.
8. #5
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (10.29.06)
The aborting of female fetuses has just about come to an end. It dawned on sociologists that China could, in the not too distant future, have a severe case of "polygamy in reverse," meaning that females would end up with several husbands. (Nobody ever lets us girls get lucky!)
9. Abhorrent practice, contrary to our own values
Raymond from DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (10.29.06)
To those participating in this shameful practice, how will you justify it to your Maker when your time finally comes? This violates even the Noahide laws ("aver min ha'chai", limb from a living animal). Do we not hold to a higher standard? Perhaps with your new prosperity you've come to over-value your own life over everything else. For RyanH in Ashdod to suggest there are only "technical objections" leaves me almost speechless. That China is heading to great power status without due consideration of human dignity, as demonstrated by this practice, is frightening. We taught the world that man is created "b'tzelem elokim"; I guess even some of our own have forgotten.
10. #7 your country did a great job messing up Haiti
(10.29.06)
It's not Christiandom that "knows", as you so stupidly state, it's a small minded inquistioner named Marlene who claims to "know" everything. Buzz off and stop pestering Jews. Go bug the Muslims or something. Or better yet go to China and DO something.
11. What about India?
observer   (10.29.06)
but , most from live donors for "part" organ donation (e.g. one of the two kidneys or one lobe of the liver). the dead are more fortunate; either burried or incinerated. They would introduce you to a raw of "willing" donors to choose the best from !
12. Yuk!
Eddie ,   England   (10.29.06)
Remember all the false Nazi propaganda about the Jews being into human sacrifice and using Christian children's blood to make matzohs for Passover? Remember all the forged slanders in the 'Protocols of the Elders of Zion' that Hitler liked so much? Are you sure you want to give this image to your people?
13. Nonsense!
Shai ,   Israel   (10.30.06)
I can't believe the nonsense I'm reading here. We're speaking of people who'll die without transplants. We're speaking of doctors who have a business interest in making sure that cheap Chinese surgery doesn't cut into their business in Israel. We're speaking of alleged facts that people who've looked into it said are no longer true, if they ever were. Plain and simple, this is a sideswipe by people with a commercial interest in preventing the practice, by spreading rumors and exaggerating their claims to make these patients seem to others as though they are ghouls. These people have absolutely nothing to apologize or feel guilty for. They are saving their lives.

Dorothy Friend ,   Tel Aviv   (12.29.06)
That was suggested a number of times, but the fundamentalists (both Jewish and Islamic) got into uproars over it. I heard this a.m. on the radio that this time the law might actually go through, that one would arrange for an opt out card if they didn't want their organs used. What is it they say in the USA: Dont take your organs to heaven, heaven knows that they're needed here!
