3. Diplomacy is an art!
enzo ,   london,uk   (10.31.06)
Having read the whole interview, what really surprises me most is the following statement: "Israel-says the Ambassador- has a past and present in Europe, but no future. Israel is a part of Asia."
4. Good!!
Michael Steiner   (10.31.06)
Finally some good news. This jerk should be demoted to selling falafel at the TA train station.

Antonio ,   Haifa   (10.31.06)
He's a retard just like most Israeli officials. Some other Israeli ambassadors included one in Romania that applied for a Romanian citizenship, and one in Hungary who was notorious for walking out on his bill at restaurants.
6. Stiener are you a professional Jew hater? do you have a life
observer ,   World   (10.31.06)
or do you sit around waiting for a Jew to make a mistake and then jump on him?
7. #2yh.. is that how you deal with your problems?
Lynne   (10.31.06)
how funny.. if anyone says something you do not wish to hear you decide to boycott them?? I think you should rather check out WHY your ambassador said this.. who knows you might end up discovering something about the culture you're creating in Israel..
8. Better get used to it
Rami ,   Nazareth   (10.31.06)
With Fascist party in the Israeli government, we better get used to hearing more racist remarks for israeli envoys abroad.
9. One may not like the wording, but its TRUE
Darren ,   Tampa, FL USA   (10.31.06)
Although he could have phrased it better, i.e. used terms that passed the test of the "politically correct PC police", but if you think about it the statement rings true. The idea intended to be expressed BEHIND the words is not racist. One must admit that Israel and Australia has more in common with one another than they each do with Communist China, Indonesia, and other Asian nations with a non-Western culture. Political correctness is what ruled in the decision to chastize the Ambassador.
10. The Ambassador didn't know that the only slur allowed
AK   (10.31.06)
in the international PC circles is to call Israel 'this shi**y little country,' as the French diplomat did.

You make a good point. It's scary when the people that suffered the most from right-wing extremists (read: Nazis) are actually the ones that bring the ideology back within their government. It would be nice if you guys used your head instead of your Torah.
12. Its Arrogance ...pure and simple
Haj Amin ,   Sidon   (10.31.06)
I can't but call it arrogance ,its all the Brain washing Israeli society is forced to breed ....all the hate you instel in your youngones ....all this hate for all but not jews , shame on the world for allowing this bulshit to continue .
13.  He should pay for his sins
James A. Moran ,   NY   (10.31.06)
14. who needs Australia anyway
Lucas ,   IL PORTO   (10.31.06)
They can boycott our Falafel if they wish
15. What was he implyng??
Chaya ,   Bat Yam   (10.31.06)
If he was trying to imply some superiority of 'white race' over 'yellow race,' he really put his foot in his mouth. Asia is moving up to take a dominant position in the world. If he was trying to imply some kind of 'brotherhood' with Australia, it was a stupid way to present it It would have been better had he talked about common ideals of democracy and freedom instead of putting others down in the process. The other reason it was a stupid thing to say is that Israel AND Australia are both multicultural societies. From all points of view he really made a food of himself..
16. hey #11...you dufus
Greg ,   New York   (10.31.06)
if we didn't use our Torah, we'd be extinct. i bet you wish that would happen, don't you.

that's kicking up the fuss but ha-aretz.
18. Rami, Rami, Rami #8
JB ,   Canada   (11.01.06)
Rami' old boy. I think you should familiarize yourself with the history of Muslims if you want to learn about Fascism! Read Elridge Cleaver's "Soul on Fire" to see what a revolutionary black man learned about Muslims and slavery in Algeria after he was exiled from the US...and that's for starters. If there ever was a group of people who practiced mysogyny, homophobia, exclusionary racist fascism...well, just look in the mirror and you'll see one of them. And Phillipe, Rami's running dog in Montreal, your histoire in Quebec should be in a dictionary under fascism. Remember those great signs "pas de chiens ou juifs! What a catchy phrase. Two peas in a pod, you and Rami. Mais prenez soin, Philippe or you'll find that ultimately Rami and his friends would just as soon shove a scimitar up you bum as say goo'day mate!
19. #9 To describe a race in color is racism. U Fool

Since you obviously don't own a dictionary or use it, here are definitions for "racism" from three different dictionaries: Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.0.1) rac‧ism –noun 1. a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others. 2. a policy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering such a doctrine; discrimination. 3. hatred or intolerance of another race or other races. [Origin: 1865–70] —Related forms racist, noun, adjective Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.0.1) Based on the Random House Unabridged Dictionary, © Random House, Inc. 2006. American Heritage Dictionary rac•ism n. The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others. Discrimination or prejudice based on race. rac ist adj. & n. The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition Copyright © 2000 by Houghton Mifflin Company. Published by Houghton Mifflin Company. All rights reserved. WordNet racism n 1: the prejudice that members of one race are intrinsically superior to members of other races 2: discriminatory or abusive behavior towards members of another race [syn: racialism, racial discrimination] WordNet ® 2.0, © 2003 Princeton University If you can read and comprehend, then you will note that describing a race in color is not racism. To say "Black is beautiful" is not racist. To say "Orientals have beautiful ivory colored skin" is not racist. To say Mr. Smith is a black or white man is not racist. To merely say the "red race", "white race", "black race", "brown race'", or "yellow race" is not racist. It is an observation. It is free speech. So chill out and learn that racism is basically a BELIEF that one race is SUPERIOR to another. Let me repeat it for you: It is the BELIEF that one race is SUPERIOR to another. That my friend is Racism. As to saying "yellow race", it is merely FREE SPEECH albeit perhaps not popular with the "in-crowd hip politcally correct koolaid drinking people", but free speech none the less and not at all hateful unlike "U FOOL". Interesting comment "U FOOL" that you used for I do find that the left are the most hateful, more intolerant of speech that they don't agree with and some resort to violence, and more apt to call people names like "U Fool". By the way you just sound like one angry white man!!! :) And if you are another "COLOR", my apologies in advance and just insert the corrrect "COLOR".
21. He said the truth!! both are occupiers of others land
Noora ,   Bahrain   (11.01.06)
Both white Austarlians and Isarelis are originally from Europe so they share one culture and do NOt belong to Asia and both are occupiers, it is better to go back to where you belongso that you live happily ever after and let us live in peace
22. dumb ambassodor
cj ,   usa   (03.05.10)
Jews and australians are the "white race"??? Aren't there PLEEENTY of dark-skinned/brown-skinned jews? And last I checked, Australia is a multicultural country (more so than Isreal I dare say because Isreal forbids immigration of non-jews) And last I checked, plenty of east asians are "whiter" skinned than many jews. When idiots like this ambassador make racist comments, all of isreal looks bad.
23. to cj, #22
Shaktimaan ,   NYC, USA   (02.24.11)
Israel doesn't forbid the immigration of non-Jews. In any given year around half of all immigrants are non-Jews. Also, learning how to spell "Israel" would probably bolster any argument you make about the intelligence of others.
24. Israel and Australia "white"
Frank ,   London UK   (08.04.11)
Darren of Tampa, you obviously agree with that Tamir. You conveniently forget that what Israeli Ambassador Tamir said included "slanted eyes" and "yellow skin" and nothing about Israel having more in common with Australia. You are wrong.
25. Back to school for you John
Frank ,   London UK   (08.04.11)
Again Darren of Tampa is abusing Ynetnews and its readers. His post is nothing but a rant against the opinion of another. His arguments exposes his racist beliefs. His point that saying "red face" or "white face" or "yellow face" etc is not racist is childish. In life there is no reason to say "red face" or "black face" or whatever unless you are obsessed with it. Furthermore you can say "red face" in such a way to convey a racist message. If Darren is not offended with "red face", then he will not be offended if I said "great big nose".
