Someone please help me out for as a non Israeli I just don't understand how the political, military and intelligence failures of the war against Hezbollah can go without the electorate demamding a change starting at the top. When can a new election be held at what is it that triggers it? It is hard for me to envision the voters in Israel not demanding change. It seems to me that Israel can not look to the future, in war or peace with the leaders in place at this time.
2. Halutz has to go

As much as the political echelon failed in conducting the 2nd Lebanon War there are clear rules and proceadures that relate to their manner of dismissal. Olmert would be removed if a majority of the Knesset voted for an alternative Prime Minister or his fellow Kadima MK's would remove him from the leadership of the party if their numbers in the polls fell dramatically. Amir Perretz is out at the latest in May when the Labor Party has elections for Chairman. Dan Haultz is the one who should take personal reponsability immediately. He is not only preventing the correcting of major problems in the army, but the upper echelons of the armed forces are reluctant to voice their opiniopns of what went wrong while he is still there.

Just look at Bush's blunders in the US and ask the same question.

The difference between Bush's blunders and the attack on Lebanon is that the U.S. easily defeated Sadam because it had the weaopnry and soldiers. It then began making war decisions based on political correctness and as a result will be driven out of Iraq. Israel on the other hand went into battle totally ill prepared and didn't even win initially. That is my feeling.
