1. we lebanese people decide if we want this government or not.
lina   (11.01.06)
the americans don't have the right to decide if the lebanese government will stay or not....We have the right to decide....And 70%of lebanese people don't want the shit of this government....This government are stealing all the money...And she didn't help the lebanese people in anything....all the people of the destroyed houses were helped just by hezbollah....How do u expect from the lebanese people to not love hezbollah;and hezbollah is the only one who is helping this people...And this is the responsibility of the government not of hezbollah... My uncle hated hizbollah in the past;and he was with this government...But in this war ;his house was destroyed...He wait and wait for the government to help him but nobody came...And then hezbollah came and help him;and they treat him very very well....Now he said that he can't hate them..And he can't talk bad things about them now;because they treated him better than that government....And then they ask that why the people loves hizbollah...because we don't have a government to defend our country from israel(remeber that hezbollah liberate the south of libanon in 2000 not the government)and we don't have a government that use their money to help the people;they steal this money(different of hezbollah who are helping all the people in libanon).....For that that we love hizbollah because he is the only one who defend us and carry about us.....

3. Topping the lebanese government
Nora ,   Tel Aviv   (11.01.06)
Is a must for the future of Hizballah, for the stability of Bashar Assad`s dictature and for the access of Iran to Mediterranean waters. Next will the "Trio" sign a non-aggression pact, so that any attack on one of them will be considered as an attack to the "Trio"
4. #1, LIna...you are mis-guided.
DR ,   Florida, USA   (11.01.06)
Hezballah brought the war to your people. they attacked Israel knowing fully well that Israel will respond. They are using your emotions against you. You think they are helping you? They were hiding in your streets on purpose so that IAf would target them by your houses. Use your brain Lina. Lebanon will disappear if Hezballah gains power.
5. What Lebanese government?
Rob ,   Toronto, Canada   (11.01.06)
Haven't seen one for a while yet.
6. to # 1
Jellybean ,   Chicago   (11.01.06)
Lina, you say that now. But when Hez starts another war who's side will you take? People in Lebanon can choose their own government if they want Hez fine but they should start paying the price. If Hez gets elected they wil give you money but all your personal freedom is gone! Good luck!
7. The US Needs to but out!!
Jellybean ,   Chicago   (11.01.06)
I am so sick of my tax dollars going to the Middle East. I am sick and tired of American troops in Iraq. The US should leave the Middle East alone and if they want to kill each other fine let them I would rather have my tax dollars going to Help homeless americans, american healthcare and american education! This just has to stop.
8. Lebanese sovereignty
Chaya ,   Bat Yam   (11.01.06)
If the IDF had been allowed to finish the job of finishing off Hizbullah and had been given the right equipment and logistical support, this wouldn't be happening now. It would also have shown Syria and Iran that they better had not mess with us! As it turned out, we showed them our weakness!!
9. It shows Nasrallah's suprising Commitment to Democracy
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (11.01.06)
I see if they do not accept government overhaul, Nasrallah calls for early election. It is usual in any democracy and in Europe and Japan they held early elections for lesser reasons. It indicates really suprising commitment of Nasrallah to Democracy and democratic methods. On the other hand Siniora know he cannot win election due to his failure to defend his country and yielding Israeli forces. US also know this fact and therefor eCALL EARLY ELECTIONS as a COUP? I never heard any sensible person called early elections or demonstrations for early elections a COUP!. US in fact supported ech and every fasism and military coups and they are against only democratic changes if it is against its interests. Military coup or any civil war in Lebonan will be because of US and its lebonanese puppets not becaue of hizbullah.
10. re: 1. we lebanese people decide if we want this governme
girl NYC ,   NYC, USA   (11.01.06)
just remember that this whole war happened because of Hezbollah.
11. Re #7: But what about the money flow?
Steve ,   USA   (11.01.06)
B"H You do not want tax dollars in the Middle East. But do you realize what a big business gasoline and oil is, how much it is protected because of all the economy that depends on it, and what the consequence is? Basically money is being exchanged in large amounts with countries that are dictatorships; and these dictatorships funnel that money not into building a prosperous country but into building military strength. And that military strength is then applied against the United States and its interests! So if you really want the troops out of there, this foreign dependence on oil needs to be cut. If you really want the tax dollars to stop going to impose control on the region, the oil dollars that build budgets of war also need to go. How else do you plan on stopping the 9/11 style attacks on US soil? Hire air-marshals and profile locally? Never.
12. to lina
niki ,   u.s.a.   (11.01.06)
hezbolla is monipulating you people and you are to blind and stupid to realize...., what a shame...., with money and brainwashing they will get alot of votes, but you will suffer the consequences in a much greater way, for starters, your freedom!!! you will be another Iran...., good luck, and god bless you!
13. Lina - You have my sympathy..
Johnson ,   USA   (11.01.06)
It is truely unfortunate that the Lebanese people have to pay the price for these extremists. You are caught in the middle of a vicious circle. You must realize that Syria, and Iran could care less for your people. They are hell bent on the destruction your country, and if they can buy favor from within they will. I hope one day there will be peace, and that you may enjoy the love and generosity from the peoples of my country.
14. In reply to #1
Tony ,   Canada   (11.01.06)
I am Lebanese, and we need to get rid of Hizballah and Syria seems to be dumb, or blind, or just plain stupid because it still doesnt want to accept the Lebanese sovreignity. Thanks to the US keeping an eye open in the region... and the IDF should've finished what they started this summer...
15. In bed with the devil
Connie ,   VA, USA   (11.01.06)
Don't think they helped you and your father out of the "goodness of their hearts". The are doing it only to get your loyalty to them. They'll be back to collect I'd rather be poor than to accept help from the devil's advocates.
16. OLMERT,BUSH & THEIR BELOVER SINIORA MUST GO TO GAY PARADE
Lebanese   (11.01.06)
17. ONCE MORE DOUBLE STANDARDS
Lebanese   (11.01.06)
you israelis brought lieberman to goverment instead of much voices that were against this & all this was done to keep olmert as PM for more little time instead of that the joining of lieberman will bring to israel much disaster & nor USA nor others didn't interfere in this ,why you interfere in others own matters at the time when Hizbullah is the most popular party in Lebanon & all Islam world & he has the right with his partners to determine the policy of his country & will reach this by democratic ways
18. 1# are you sure?
DK ,   Israel   (11.01.06)
I wont be surprised if hizballah will kill and threaten the people who wont choose it.. Have you ever heard about how hitler got to the gov? http://www.globaljewishcommunity.com/
19. #6,7.. "Jellybean"..
Lynne   (11.01.06)
first of all Hezbollah are not planning on ruling Lebanon.. Nasrallah was clear on the fact that if the current government is to stay it will be fine as long as members will be elected equally from all Lebanese parties.. you're not the only one sick of the American troops in Iraq and the whole US startegies in the ME.. we are also sick of your government.. your government insists on killing us with its own hands ..they don't want us to kill each other... you know how sweet they are.. they believe they should finish us off in order to make the coast clear for Israel to inflate..
20. ARENT WE SHOCKED AT THAT?..WHO WOULD'VE THOUGHT

21. unity gov
sami ,   ny usa   (11.01.06)
the current gov failed miserably. since its inception it did not do anything for lebanon . siniora is a thief. hariri senior cancelled the investigation of corruption siniora was accused of and made him a cabinet member a bald move by hariri. there are lot of lebanese factions who are not represented ex michel aoun et al a major christian leader who stood up againt syria when everybody was kissing up to syria including usa and jumbalat . whta is wrong with expanding the gov and including honest lebanese ? one answer siniora et al wont be able to lute what is lebanon 3 billion dollars in foreign aid. this current gov does represent the lebanese majority and controlled by outside influences and if unwilling to expand must go by democratic means.
22. Cedar Revolution2 : The Revenge :)

23. # 1 Lina
Sagi ,   Israel   (11.01.06)
# 4 said you are misguided. He is wrong, you are just plain stupid. The only way that Lebanon can save itself is to do three things. One is to shoot Nasseralla as soon as possible. Two is to cut off all contact with Syria and Iran. Three is to sign a peace treaty and a mutual defense pact with Israel. The sooner you do these three things the better it will be for you. If you fail to do them Lebanon as an independent country will disappear, and this will happen very soon. Best of luck, don't say you were not warned.
24. hezbollah
MIZMITE ,   toronto   (11.01.06)
if .if .if, those are the words of israel about the war with hez. well jews you lost, the whole world watched you lose. you are no longer the only game in the mid east. long live hezbollah

Jellybean ,   Chicago   (11.01.06)
I agree the U.S should start working on energy where we do not have to depend on Oil such as ethanol. That was we don't have to get involved.
26. Lynne
Jellybean ,   Chicago   (11.01.06)
Not to be rude, but The U.S is not killing you. If anything there is more Arab violence against each other. More Arabs have killed each other than Americans have killed Arabs. If you do not want Israel to "inflate" stop killing each other, make peace with your neighbors. : )
27. If that's the case, Israel will be surrounded by
John ,   NZ   (11.01.06)
more Idiots ! I don't think they need a coup. Even now, Hizbollah has total control of Lebanon. They can do more nasty things in the shadow of Sinner Siniora and blame it on the Lebanese Govt. What more, Lebanese are so gullible as to let their own country to be used to provoke Israel. And when Israel hits back, the lebanese suffers, the world slams Israel and US. Look Jordan shares a wide common border wit Israel, why don't Israel attack Jordan. Becos, the Jordanian Govt doesn't allow their country to be used by Islamist extremist .. a bit maybe. All in All, Lebanese are stupid
28. Shia strategy
Michael ,   Seattle, WA   (11.01.06)
Hezbolla will run Lebanon and Al-Sadr will run Iraq - funded by Iran, within two years. They have an excellent strategy and are actively removing all obstacles. The violence continues.
29. To #1 - the "lebanese' people disappeared in the 80s

30. the bombs fell and hezbollah handed out the sweets
Proud Lebanese ,   Beirut   (11.02.06)
to people on the way as we left the city to escape, they were smiling and handing out sweets, they knew....they knew.... they knew what they had started, the domino effect that their masters had put into play through hezbollah their proxies...and now...... now, they have the money to buy everyones favour. DISGUSTING NAZ-RALLAH
