if the animals in Gaza stop firing rockets into Israel, the IDF will not harm a soul there. The IDF does not want to be there (hence the withdrawal last year). The reality however, is that the extemist Palestinians do NOTwant peace (don't be surprised by this - they elected in Hamas!). Because of this, the IDF will use the means at its disposal to try and thwart these murderous acts against Israeli civiians, in order to protect them - as any normal government would.
