31. A Publicity Stunt.
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (11.03.06)
Pure and simple.
32. I went to a Reform synagogue once
Michael ,   Ca, US   (11.03.06)
and that was the first and last time. The male Rabbi did not wear a kippah, but the female Rabbi did. The Chazan was gay(which didn't bother me) except he was FLAMING. His behavior was outright cartoonish. They actually changed the words in the siddur to be more politically correct. They changed melodies and tunes from songs that have been sung by Jews for millenia. Then there was this really loud guitar which one does not expect to hear on Shabbat. I'm not Orthodox and don't know about anyone else but I attend synagogue to feel close to G-d and pray not to feel like I'm at some Broadway show. The Reform movement feels as authentic as Scientology.
33. Is it a memorial for Rabin or for the people killed because
MEI 1   (11.03.06)
of his crazy agreements with the palistenians that killed many jews.........
34. will they hold Rabbeinu Tam after the fast???????????!!!!!!!
MEI 1   (11.03.06)
35. What about Yom Kippur???????????
MEI1   (11.03.06)
36. Maddona Next?
Snooker ,   Australia   (11.03.06)
Yep, create your own customs and what not. So, Rosh Hashana & Yom Kippur is not good enough for them? They need more time for introspection? What about having a Communal sit- in, wear non leather shoes, and then break the fast with Jews 4 Jesus? Meshugoyim!
37. Ignorance
Yehudit   (11.03.06)
What these talkbacks show is an absolute ignorance of Reform Judaism.
38. Trying to get on the map
David ,   Amsterdam   (11.03.06)
The Reform are trying to get on the map for something. However, Reform is dying everywhere and unappealing to the youth. In communities where Reform was the only shul in town, successful Chabad houses are popping up.
39. # 30 - I humbly disagree, due to L'AG B'omer.
Motek ,   USA   (11.03.06)
To celebrate Rabin's death would place him on a par with, lehavdil, R' Shimon bar Yochai, G-d forbid! Looks like we're stuck between a rock and a hard place. Maybe compromise is best. An inner joy with no external show. Perhaps even better, just ignore the whole thing, and trust that G-d will save us, as He always has.
40. Reform wearing tallit in the photo?
joh ,   galut   (11.03.06)
Do they wear a Tallis when they fast? Or play tennis in the afternoon (just like on Yom Kippur).
41. It makes me sick
Shimmon ,   Tzfat Israel   (11.03.06)
This murder of Jews now gets a fast day Are you kidding. What next ?
42. A fast day for martin luther king jr ? what about tupac?
elchonon ,   jerusalem   (11.03.06)
Or john lenon ? heck JFK is worth fasting for more!!
43. Ironic considering they officiate weddings on Tisha B'av
Clara Finkle ,   Jerusalem   (11.03.06)
44. Oximoron
Avraham ,   Netivot   (11.03.06)
The terms reform & Rabbi are an oximoron.
45. Reform will faithfully observe this fast day
Yeah, right   (11.03.06)
Just like they faithfully observe all other fast day. In other words: NOT AT ALL.
46. Yehudit: Ignorance
(11.03.06)
Reform Jews have a greater ignorance of Reform Judaism than the people posting these talkbacks.
47. HOW MANY YEARS DID IT TAKE THE REFORM TO ACKNOWLEDGE ISRAEL
Sid Emess   (11.03.06)
Shame these people who refused to acknowledge the existance of the State and did not make prayers for the State until recently are now pushing an agenda to make them popular with the non observant Jews world wide. Observant Judaism has been around far too long for these people who want to become more like the other nations and religions and discard our heritage -the observant will survive just as they did after the Holocaust but the "deform" are creating a new creed which will ultimately fail.
48. Bunch of twits!
Avi ,   Israel   (11.07.06)
If the continuation of the Jewish people and Judaism were dependant on these jokers it'd be all over for us in no time at all.
