31. Gay Parade
Mariah ,   USA   (11.03.06)
If the Gays involved in this, set out in a course of action in which they provoke and torment another community until they react, I'm telling people right now that I'm not going to see them as victims or feel sorry for them. If they start some kind of war it's their own problem, not mine.
32. marya's lies (28)
sk ,   USA   (11.03.06)
You know, I realize that I am an oddball here. I love my Jewish brothers and sisters, though as Kahane would say, it isn't easy. I'm not very religious, yet I think that there is something special in the Jewish soul. I would be considered a "racist" because I think Arabs have disqualified themselves from Israeli citizenship, and I conider "Palestinains" squatters on Jewish land. I fund Women in Green and think Yesha is Israel. Then comes marya, with her anti-gay lies. Yes, gentle reader, marya cooks up another "Protocols," this time with gays as the "Jews." Let's be clear: Jerusalem Open House seems to be a leftist organization. I, personally, have nothing but scorn for its larger agenda. But if gay Jews cannot march in the NON-HOLY part of Jerusalem, Israel is not worth secular American Jewish support. The route of this parade has already been negotiated. In America, gays could march ANYWHERE. Israel is not America, though. The parade route was carefully drawn. If you love your fellow Jew the way I do, you will let this march take place. If you are a fascist, then damn you.
33.  To sk
jack ,   jerusalem   (11.03.06)
Jerusalem IS a holy city, regardless of any profane entities in the city. Secondly, the majority of the city does not want this parade. Thirdly, most Rabbis forbid going on to the temple mount.
34. equal laws for all
STANLEY MILNER ,   TEL AVIV   (11.03.06)
i do not understand why the haredim think they should be treated differently to orthers.if someone breaks the laws you should be treated like a criminal,IT DOES NOT MATTER WHO YOU ARE.
35. The Importance of Sex Education
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (11.03.06)
After reading all the articles & talkbacks this last few days about the Gay Parade, I can only say that this really shows how important it is to have good sex education courses in schools. Irrational fear is from ignorance, a lack of understanding human sexuality. All of this anti-gay bias is based on unreasoned stereotypes & lack of scientific education. This bias is very much akin to anti-semitism so you would expect Jews to not fall for such crude prejudice but evidently that is not the case. People should realize that, given the statistical prevalence of homosexuality in all human populations, everyone has a friend, relative, or acquaintance who is gay, whether you know it or not. One more point, this anti-gay hysteria reminds me of the anti-Jewish hatred the Muslims use to manipulate their population. I have to believe that the unscrupulous Haredi rabbis are doing the same thing. The fact that they would be willing to enlist the aid of our worst enemies should give you some insight into their lack of ethics.
36. If it looks and walks and quacks like a duck
Kate ,   Jerusalem   (11.03.06)
It's a duck. The ultra-orthodox are burning stuff, throwing stones, attacking people, disrupting life... They are behaving criminally. Even if they truely believe in their cause - their behaviour is criminal. They are, therefore, by definition, criminals. I don't support the parade in Jerusalem, but the court does. So put the protesters in prison (where they can't burn and hurt) and let the gays take their Friday stroll in the city. Then we can all get back to our usual balagan.
37. #35 - Terry - it's about religion
Kate ,   Jerusalem   (11.03.06)
Your talkback is reasonable and makes sense - except on one point: this is not about 'fear of gays'. The uproar over the parade is about religious beliefs on Jerusalem and on Homosexuality. I'm not Orthodox (or even religious) - but I do understand that these people believe that Jerusalem is sacred and it is their duty before God to preserve it's character. Unfortunately, they fight immorally, criminally and end up standing against the very rights they demand for themselves. But they do so from religious conviction - not fear of homosexuality.
38. It's all about Yetzer Harah
(11.03.06)
Gays are totally given over into the hands of the Yetzer Yarah, which has convinced them they must have instant gratification of their every sexual urge. Anyone who is opposed to their selfish lifestyle of satisfying every physical pleasure without any restriction or self-control, is labeled a "homophobe" and "intolerant."
39. #36 and #37 - I don't agree with all of your views but....
Andy ,   ramat hasharon   (11.03.06)
your posts are very well reasoned and a pleasure to read. Thanks.
40. #38 - where are we when all these urges....
Andy ,   ramat hasharon   (11.03.06)
are being satisfied? You should be at our house when we go to bed at 10:30 to get the kids up for school the next day. Trust me, you misinformed anonymous person, our lives are pretty much as boring and yours. That's how we have stable, monogamous relationships, careers, famililies. You know, all the good things in life. Since you seem to know where all the wild gay sex is going on all the time, maybe we should party with you. If you actually opened your eyes to what the parade WILL BE like next Friday, you will see people who for the most part are undiscernable from any other crowd. Only with nicer shoes.

Marcus   (11.04.06)
You're right, they should at least use rubber bullets and batons. They should feel the pain they are inflicting on others by throwing stones and steel bars. Then they would not be so quick to act violently.

Marcus   (11.04.06)
How on earth can you blame they gays for this. They have not set one fire, thrown one stone, attacked one police officer or bypasser. They have not even attacked the haredim. The haredim on the other hand have done all of these things. I suppose next you'll be telling us that it is the woman's fault that she was raped or the jew's fault that the nazi put them in a gas chamber, etc. Get some sense.
43. homosexual parade in Jerusalem
Toni ,   USA   (11.05.06)
Israel is crossing over the line and asking for the wrath of God upon them. "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is an abomination". Leviticus 18:22
44. walks like one, talks like one
(11.06.06)
maybe it is one. if police treats them like criminals, maybe they are! eureka!!!!
45. Sick the Haredim on all Israel's enemies! God bless them!
