egypt and jordan owned the lands the palestinians are on now. the palis were occupied by egypt and jordan at one time. when both left, these countries did not allow the palestinian to become citizens and in return, put them in refugee camps and denying them citizenship in egypt and jordan. lynne, the reason egypt and jordan DO NOT HAVE REFUGEES HERE AND THERE is because the kicked the palestinians out after rulling over them in the past. not one arabic country offered them a citizenship. no one wanted them and so they became refugees because no arab country will incorporate them as citizens. this is why they became refugees!!!!! and since they didn't want them, they threw them in israel's lap after 1967, invented the country of "palestine" and the concept of "palestinian refugees" and systematically bombarded the arab world and the palis minds with their rights to palestine, kill the jewish occupiers, jerusalem is yours, etc... yes, you're right.. I believe in this too.. both sides should elect new governments for a start.. both sides should be willing to accept one another as nieghbours.. but I usually see it more as Israel's responsibilty because they are the stronger side.. Israel should CLEARLY announce its borders.. and announce Palestine as a sovereign state.. in order to do this both sides should be willing to meet and talk.. away from violence..

Palestinian refugees are Israel's responsibility... what you are implying is that all Palestinian refugees are from Gaza and the West Bank.. which is not true.. there are Palestinians from every city and village in Palestine/Israel who are refugees.. Israel should NOT expect Arab countries to give those Palestinians citezenships so that they can take them off its shoulders!! if Israelis took their lands then it is their duty to compensate for the damage they had caused them... the refugee problem had started in 1948 and NOT after 1967!!
