1. Like a breath of fresh air ...
Bruno ,   Haifa   (11.04.06)
Olmert should remember that his party's called Kadimah - it needs to move forward, towards peace, and not stagnate. David Grossman's ability to capture the national mood is unsurpassed. Olmert should listen and take heed.
2. Rabin Was Right, Not Left
Jeff ,   Cherry Hill, NJ USA   (11.04.06)
His policy was only partly implemented with Oslo. Rabin deported terrorists to Lebanon blindfolded and shackled in buses. Oslo proved there is no parab partner for peace. Parabs are unable and/or unwilling to end the conflict. When they do, peace will follow.
3. Rabin was a fool.

4. Rabin made a mess that took 4 prime ministers to clean..

Very interesting http://www.israelnationalnews.com/news.php3?id=114729 To #1, what kind of Jew has the name "bruno', lol, you must have grown up in a very Israeli home LOL You cant negotiate with those that dont even want to look you in the eyes, when Abbas calls what the IDF is doing as a bloodbath when in fact he should be doing IDF's job of ridding PA of terrorists, ITS ALL A SHAM. You cant force people to love you, try making every female love you Bruno, see if it works.
6. If you give the Palestinians ......
Mike ,   Rishon le Zion   (11.04.06)
a finger they will take the whole hand - and then they will piss on the hand too. Remember that Mr Grossman. We won't judge you in your sorrow, but stop talking nonsense. If George Bush doesn't want to talk to Syria - why should Olmert? It would be like pissing in Bush's face.
7. the truth
a,yehudi ,   melbourne .australia   (11.04.06)
what grossman said is true we must turn to hashem, otherwise Israel will not survive.
8. Grossman's speech
L. ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (11.04.06)
That was not all that Grossman said. He also spoke about what a miracle this country is, and how he felt that we have lost our sense of that miracle. It was actually quite a good speech.
9. To number 5
Abraham Glazer ,   Nahariya   (11.04.06)
Abbas calls what the IDF is doing as a bloodbath because it is a b-l-o-o-d b-a-t-h. If the Palestinisans had killed forty Israelis in three days, what would you call it.?
10. Grossman Speach
Yitzhak ,   Jerusalem   (11.04.06)
Rabin + Grossman = FOOLS
11. to #5
jason white ,   afula,israel   (11.04.06)
What is wrong with the name bruno? I had a corporal in basic training named bruno. Better a nice Jewish name like yitzhak, shimon, yossi, ehud or arik? Then it will be okay to endanger Israel with gross stupidity.Or to be investigated by the police!
12. Brunos
N ,   Tel Aviv tourist   (11.05.06)
I mention Bruno Shultz for the list, out of sentimentality for Grossman's novel that I am coincidentally reading now. And add me to the list of fools, please.
13. Kadima is no longer moving forward
Yehuda ,   USA   (11.05.06)
As much as I distrust the Palestinian leadership, the Palestinians are going to be our neighbours like them or not. We have to find a way to move forward in living in peace dispite their aweful decisions in leadership and their hate for Jews. They need to taste peace and some qulity of life in order to find a compromise and a way to accept us.
14. Rabin+Arafat+Oslo=Destruction of Israel
malcolm   (11.05.06)
There is no question what the Oslo "peace" accord brought down on Israel. Rabin didn't have the balls to call Arafat to the carpet once as Arafat spoke peace in English and hate of Jews in Arabic, disseminated hate of Jews and the destruction of Israel in schoolbooks etc. I can appreciate Daliah's desire to remember her father in the best light but he obviously did not have a "detailed security approach" when he overlooked all of Arafat's dangerous impasses. In reality Arafat was a Trojan Horse that Rabin welcomed with a red carpet. Arafat NEVER had any designs on peace. He laughed his head off after receiving the Nobel Peace Prize and went on a whirlwind international tour and pocketed billions of dollars to a misty eyed world. Rabin was fooled and so were all the disillusioned Israelis desperate to treat Palestinians as partners. On paper everything sounds good, like democratizing Iraq and other insane experiments. In reality thousands of gallons of blood have been shed because of the Oslo disaster. Grossman is right in that a new leadership must take over. But the kind he dreams reeks of further erosion of Israel's deterrent and deterrent is the only valuable secular currency Israel ever had. As far as the following Grossman statement..."Israel waved a mighty military muscle but behind its helplessness and fragility were exposed"...The helplessness and fragility is totally in the weakness of the leaders and not the military. The enemy loves Olmert as he is weak and has no ability to wage war if and when the time comes for one. Every military, no matter how mighty, is as strong as it's Commander in Chief.
15. suicidal yearnings
robert ,   potomac md   (11.05.06)
wishing that the Palestinians were not psycho does not make them less so. Negotiate? over what? to give up the Jewish claim to the Land of Israel--maybe they'll let you keep Shenkin Street--but the day after you agree with that, they'll demand Shenkin street. Israelis--are you suicidial?
16. maybe it's time to pack?
israeli   (11.05.06)
maybe yes... see, one tries to "debate" based on the name of the other, few other keep saying the same crap regarding Oslo as a disaster. The time for peace running short. Soon Iran will have the bomb... What you dumb "hawkies" don't see is that Israel can have as many nuclear heads it want, it will never be able to use it without promoting it's own collapse. Social, economically and strategically.
17. David Grossman renews Hatikvah
avramele   (11.05.06)
let those who have abandoned or never understood the humanistic dream of our Zionist heritage take pause, think and learn.
18. After losing a son you'd think he would think...
Al   (11.05.06)
Sad, that after such a great loss there are always people who are so begrieved they simply cant think straight . I can tell your from personnel experience that the sooner you come to reality the sooner you will heal. I lost a brother to Arab terror in the 1980's . I never ever entertained the idea that the Arabs were ever seeking peace with the Jews. I read history and the same story appeared. The Arabs wanted the Jews dead from day one. Mr Grossman. I ask you to honour the memory of your son and do some deep tshuva. I suggest you say the kaddish everyday. You'll be surprised how it will free you from the constant need to strike out with words that at best may be described as naive.
19. rabin's anniversary
joe ,   israel   (11.05.06)
Grossman's speech was well written and should be listened to very carefully. Our leaders are deteriorating and the country is following behind them. It's VERY sad and VERY scary.

23. Because ........
Secular Sabra ,   Israel   (11.05.06)
'There are two camps in this country: a camp of peace, compromise and hope, and a camp of extremism, violence and hatred. Let's not generalize: in both camps there are religious and secularists, young and old, rich and poor -- but only in one of these camps there are murderers.' Me'ir Shalev.
24. I was not there.
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (11.05.06)
Proudly, not there.
25. Thank you David Grossman - Finally spiritual values
Angela Jerusalem ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (11.05.06)
Listening to Grossman last night was such a relief. Finally, words of morality, ethics & spiritual values. Finally, the true roots of Judaism, exposing the trap of extreme nationalism, militarism, racism & fear that we've been sinking into by denying our shared humanity. Thank you, David. If only more rabbis were to teach about God's gift, LIFE, & how to treasure it. True love of life brings peace; all humans are sacred. Grossman GETS it, & has the spirit to say so, having sacrificed his son.
26. Rabin was murdered by war lovers
Mikulas ,   Bratislava, Slovakia   (11.05.06)
Remember that never at any other time were Jews so close to peace in the Middle East. It was that close of having only countries like Jordan and Egypt at the borders... The people who killed him -and I say the people and not the boy- will end up destroying Israel...and worse getting Jews killed again.
