1. Reinstate
hedgehog ,   Israel   (11.05.06)
The best punishment would be to reinstate him as leader of Iraq and let him face Ahmidanijab
2. Mazal Tov! Good riddence to good garbage!
AB ,   TheRock   (11.05.06)
So may all the reshaim perish.
3. That court is a joke.
No to biasedPolicies   (11.05.06)
Again American double standard. Israeli Prime Ministers have killed innocent Palestinians more than Saddam did. Hopefully, Arabs this time will wake up and get united to face the DEVIL in this world
4. Let's Not Forget His Scuds in 1991.
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (11.05.06)
This evil man deserves to removed from the ranks of humanity for the terror and destruction he inflicted on his own people, his opponents, and on us. He deserves this punishment for his horrible act of sending 39 frightening scuds on the people of the Land of Israel in 1991. He destroyed property and caused losses to businesses in the millions, distrupted normal life here for several months, injured numerous persons and terrified millions of innocent Jews in this country. What right did this wicked man have to unprovokedly attack the kind, compassionate and peace-loving people of our Holy Land?
5. the court might be a joke #3, but no more than you are....
yonatan ,   nyc   (11.05.06)
it will be nice to see saddam get what he deserves.
6. ANOTHER HAMAN PASSES THROUGH!
al mann ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (11.05.06)
...and so another dictator has been judged and sentenced to death. Revenge has been taken for all those who suffered by his hand. Yet, there is a newer Haman in Persia, Iran. It's to difficult to spell his name, yet we all know who he is. We know his program, his aims and goals. Yet, history repeats itself and nothing is learned. The same mistakes are made and the blindness continues. Modern man is frail and meek. He is afraid to meet the extraordinary challenges of his time. So time after time students of history get bored learning about dictators, from Nimrod until today's latest, since nothing can be done about dictatorial regimes exzcept war. The Ghengis Kahn factions in the world never cease while those dictated to must suffer the consequences of the dictatorial minority. What has happened in Thailand recently? Darfur? Just keep the money coming. Just keep the oil flowing. Keep buying from China! Hurray for globalization! HAS ANYTHING IMPROVED?????
7. #3
Paul ,   England   (11.05.06)
You either have a great sense of humour or need your (empty) head examined. I suggest the latter.
8. This is disgusting!A SHAME
Ramzi Sfeir ,   Bethlehem,Palestine   (11.05.06)
This ruling is one of the most shameful things that took place in the 21st century! Death sentence is the most disgusting thing humanity ever invented! Nobody, i repeat, NOBODY (including G.W.Bush) has the right to take anybody's life! If you want to punish saddam, let him rot in prison, killing him will make you a killer like him! It's clear that this ruling is great for the Soon to come american elections and great for all blood lovers! This ruling is not fair and is an insult to global justice! Saddam should get punished! Saddam should pay for his disgusting behaviour! BUT what nobody is seeing is that Bush is acting the SAME WAY! Bush is the reason for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of iraqis and afghans( most of them Innocent that never asked for any american intervention) ! Bush is commiting crimes against humanity on a daily basis! And the disgusting thing is that he is doing it in the NAME OF GOD! Sorry Mr.President, it happens that you god is not my god! And if it happens that he is the same, I Am giving up my god! I say to you now, SHAME ON EVERY human being who supports death sentence! I, as a human being, resident of this world , rule that we must give a Death sentence to death sentence ONCE AND FOR ALL! That's democracy!
9. Long overdue
Mish ,   Israel   (11.05.06)
If the Americans were smart enough, they would have killed him when they 'captured' him, and that would have been that, instead of having to go through this stupid trial to reach the same conclusion. Democracy and the arab world dont go together, so why is it no surprise that the arabs always only preach democracy when it suits them.
10. Genesis 12:3 is fullfilled
Andre Widodo ,   Indonesia   (11.05.06)
As Indonesian Christian, I wanna say that the prophecy in Genesis 12:3 is fullfilled. Remeber the "Abrahamic Covenant" is an everlasting covenant...Genesis 17:7-8. God bless Israel
11. ahmedınecat and hanıeyh are the next for death penaLty

Shai ,   Israel   (11.05.06)
One of the most shameful things to take place in the 21st century, right? All six years of it. Stay tuned for what the Arabs and Iran are going to dow ith their new found nuclear weapons. It'll show us really whose god is god, right Ramzi? Which god is your god, Ramzi? Show us using history how the followers of your god believe that "nobody has a right to take anybody's life". Seems to me that your god must be very, very, very selective about who gets to decide what's right and wrong, and what "global justice" is. Is your god, just perchance, named "UN"? That group of tinpot dictatorships and alliances between tyrants that gets to decide what international morality is? Pishposh. I mean what if we all vote in democratic elections that Saddam should die? Then you'd really be in a tight spot! LOL! What a joke, your sense of morality. When democracy goes against you, you argue morality. When morality goes against you, you argue democracy. When both are against you, you argue you have the most votes in the General Council of the UN! Typical of amoral Palestinian sense of fairplay, the ends always justify the means, and if necessary you demand that we be kind to the cruel. Yet in the end, this always results in being cruel to the kind. This serves nobody's interests but those of Palestinian and Arab and Islamic fundamentalist terrorists. Saddam committed heinous crimes. He was tried, evidence was submitted of his crimes, and based on the evidence he was sentenced to death under IRAQI law (GWB nor his American courts tried him), the same law that I'm sure Saddam would use to hang all his opponents if he were on the other side of the docket. I don't feel sorry for Saddam. Not one bit. "UN-Christ" and his apostle Ramzi, who bleeds for the Iraqis, most of who are being bled dry by Sunni insurgents funded by Saddamists. But no, Arabs are free of sin. Only "the man" can be guilty. And, those poor Afghans - all killed by "american intervention"? What utter nonsense and poppycock. Perhaps if they had any good sense at all, they would have caused a great deal more bloodshed and completely massacred all the Taliban. That's what Arabs do to their opponents when they can, why shouldn't the Americans? I'll give you the answer, Ramzi. Because OUR G-d is not the reason for "hundreds of thousands". Our G-d teaches temperance and tolerance. Our G-d doesn't seek to convince through obliteration, but through democracy. Your god, the UN-Christ, is the reason for your amoral flexibility to compromise with tyranny that leads to bloodshed, not the forces that seek to tame it. Ramzi, as a self professed "human being", the disgusting shame is your own and that you refuse to recognize it. "Not fair and an insult to global justice"? What a joke, Ramzi. What a sorry, sad joke.
13. give the idiot the gas chamber
marines ,   california   (11.05.06)
14. # 8 Ramzi
Sagi ,   Israel   (11.05.06)
Two points Ramzi. One, I agree with you that the death sentence should be universally abolished including for vermin such as Sadaam Hussein. Two, I disagree with you that it is the most disgusting thing invented by humanity. This title must go to religion. It is because of religion that we have intolerance, it is because of religion that humanity sprouts vermin like Sadaam, religion is conducive to sectarianism, in turn conducive to competion, in turn conducive to war, religion, all religion is based on fairy tails and intended to warp peoples minds and control them. It has lived up to this task excellently for thousands of years primarily because most people have feeble minds incapable of reasoning, incapable of analytical thought, incapable of discerning between logic and nonsense. A sad reflection on humanity but nevertheless true. Man has taken but one very small step out of the jungle. In fact he is still standing on the border, one foot in and one foot out and he constantly throws a yearning glance back into the trees to his forebears wondering if he should return or make the full journey and finally say to himself, I am different, I shall not kill, I shall respect, I shall love. Oh yes Ramzi, I know, He said this 3000 years ago in Sinai and 2000 years ago in Jerusalem, but he only said and failed to implement. Why? Because he is always longing for the jungle. He has to disengage from his instincts, a difficult job.
15. He called out: Allah Akbar!!
Isac ,   Florida   (11.05.06)
Well at least he gonna meet the now infamous 72 virgins.
16. Ridiculous talkback....
Ramzi Sfeir ,   Bethlehem,Palestine   (11.05.06)
my talkback was not about god...it was not about Arabs....it was not about jews.... it was not about muslims and not about christians... it was about Death sentence! which makes all your talkback irrelevant and allow me to say, Racist! If i mentioned god in the talkback, it's because Bush uses god to justify almost everything! Personally, i am not scared of the word " GOD" and my religious position or beliefs are nobody's business and are hidden deeply inside of me! i respect and accept all religions as long as they stay religions and don't become politics!
17. Terrible
Michael Steiner   (11.05.06)
Sadam is an evil scumbag to the nth degree and his death would be mourned by few right-thinking people, but capital punishment is unacceptable. Looking into someone's eyes--the window to soul, the window to life--and then extinguishing that soul calculatedly in cold-blood is barbaric, and is in my view far worse than murdering a dozen people in the heat of war. Sadam should never see the light of day of course, but this makes the executioners as bad as him. Capital punishment is never acceptable.

21. and shai....
Ramzi Sfeir ,   Bethlehem, Palestine   (11.05.06)
as you can see, in my post i didnt defend anyone! I didnt talk about arabs or their ways....i didnt give any opinion about anybody! Which makes your talkback ten times less relevant because you are commenting about my so called opinions that you know nothing about and that you invented alone! i am against killing people in general.... I am talking IN MY NAME and in nobody else's so there is absolutely no need to tell me "Show us using history how the followers of your god believe that "nobody has a right to take anybody's life". " This shows how racist and stereotypical you are! and proove me wrong!

Shai ,   Israel   (11.05.06)
Assuming all the stories you tell yourselves are true, and there is no reason to assume that a bunch of men who didn't even know Jesus, and who wrote their books no sooner than 30 years after he died, and assuming that they had no reason to lie about the Jews' role, when in fact they had ample reason to especially as time went on and the Gospels were redacted, EVEN YOUR OWN accounts don't have Jesus being "brutally crucified" by "the Jews". Read your own holy books, John. The Jews were accused, because of the actions of Judas primarily, of turning Jesus into the Roman authorities, who "brutally crucified" Jesus. So let me ask you a question, John. You being USA'ish and all, your country elected George Bush. Maybe you didn't, but your country did. Your country went to war in Iraq. Would you willingly put your head on the block for the "Religion of Peace" to behead you because of what YOU personally had done to the "innocents of Iraq"? Idiot.
26. let it be
Rahel ,   Israel   (11.05.06)
Ramiz, it's sad to say but in these talk backs on y-net are always too many people who are filled with hate against everyone and everything. You are right that most are racist and stereotypical and it's best not to react on any of these stupid comments. It looks that this site is a meeting place for those people... don't forget, that not everyone is like this! No matter if I am for or against the death sentence for this truely cruel man, but it would be nice if people in this talkback could communicate a bit more civilized, rational and with respect for eachother! Thanks!
27. Is there any video footage of him recieving his sentence?

"Capital punishment is never acceptable. " Why, because you say so?
30. #17 Michael Steiner
Adam Segal ,   Raanana, Israel   (11.05.06)
So Michael, you suggest that the Iraqi people should pay to shelter and feed him for the rest of his miserable life? Its easy to say when its not your family who was murdered and not your tax money going to his upkeep in prison. Let the bastard hang and may his death come slow and painful!
