1. Beware
John ,   USA   (11.05.06)
It's nuts to mix politics with religion. Most Christians do not support these people. They have a wacko religious/political agenda. Most Christians loath and fear these people, including Bush. Notice the wacko answer to "why do evangelical Christians support a Jewish state?" The answer they give doesn't make any sense. The Bible is for the individual to read and interpret, not to have it told to you what it means. The relationship with the Jews is unholy and untraditional. It's not about helping Jews or Israel, it's about the end of time and the second coming of Christ. I don't think they intend on saving Jews unless they convert. Beware.
2. if only the israelis themselves were zionists... sigh...
Aaron ,   Ra'anana   (11.05.06)
3. #1 Beware
Nara ,   USA   (11.05.06)
BEWARE of people like John who are an authority on "most Christians." If a relationship between Jews and Christians is unholdy and untraditional, then how do you explain the worship of a Savior who is Jewish? And, Matthew, Mark, John, James, etc. - Jews, yet deeply revered by Christians. Do you worship in Latin?
4. #1 JOHN > YOU'RE RIGHT !
TORAH AS IT IS ,   ..............DACON9   (11.05.06)
It's not about helping Jews or Israel, it's about the end of time and the second coming of Christ. I don't think they intend on saving Jews unless they convert. Beware. THOSE WHO RELY ON OTHERS, THEIR FATE WILL BE LEFT TO OTHERS.. THOSE WHO RELY ON THE 'ONE GD OF ISRAEL WILL BE PROTECTED BY 'GD' IN 'HIS' WAYS. WHAT I KNOW UNTIL they prove themself diffeent are the various times in history that JEWS have been slaughtered. > DESTRUCTION OG OUR HOLY TEMPLE BY THE EARLY XTIANS CALLED ROMANS. >THE CRUSADES >THE INQUISITION. >THE POGROMS >ASSORTED MASSACRES WITHOUT NAMES >HOLOCAUST THIS IS WHAT I KNOW. SHOULD I FORGET ? INBETWEEN EACH OF THE ABOVE OCCURENCES WERE HUNDREDS OF YEARS OF FORGETTING... SHOULD WE FORGET AGAIN? #1 JOHN IS CORRECT. BEWARE AND BEWARNED WHEN MASHIACH COMES THE XTIANS WILL *KNOW 'THE 'GD' OF ISRAEL' . AND THE XTIANS WILL MAKE TESHUVAH FOR ALL THE HARM THEY CAUSED ISRAEL. THEY CAN START NOW BY FOLLOWING THE NOAHIDE LAWS . THERE ARE NO OTHER THAN 'GD' IS ONE AND 'NONE BESIDE 'HIM' THE XTIANS / CHATHLC and asst branches CAN START WITH THAT. whne the messiah comes they will not know any jeus . they will know only the 'ONE GD' OF ISRAEL' AND THE HOLY NATION OFISRAEL. you non jews can help bring the 'MESSIAH' SOONER BY FOLLOWING THOSE NOAHIDE LAWS NOW!!!
5. Israel is being used
John ,   LondonUK   (11.05.06)
Pro-Israel lobby in America only uses Christians because christians fear the rise of Islam in the west. They exploit this fear of Islam to generate support for Israel. Rise of anti-semitism and groups like Ku Klux Klan and other white supremisits should alarm us all because they view Jews as Christ killers. Israeli Americans know full well that there are a lof of Christians who also use Israel as a proxy against Arabs. Israelis public is like lambs to the slaughter for the christians. Christians are also exploiting Jews against Arabs who want to destroy the Jewish State. Both sides are using each other against Islam. It seem unlikely that this state of affairs will carry on much longer in post 9/11 world. Already we see President Bush ordering Israel to help create a state for Palestinians. US is about to abandon its ally.
6. Christians DO NOT SUPPORT YOU do not lie yourself!
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (11.05.06)
Majority of them are against and even dislike Israel. You may even get hints from last media polling results about Bush and Iraq in England and even other places. You are consistently lying yourself to bolster your moral. American evangelists, as you may understand from their last leader resigned from his post, is as rotten as your President. They have nothing to do with any religious value other than some jews inflitrated(coverting to "Christians") into them after II.World War. Zionists now are now using them to control evangelists. That means they will soon or later overthrow their rotten leadership controlled by Zionists and turn strongly against Israilis.
7. #3 NARA.YOU PROVED#1 JOHNS POINT....

8. #1
Rod ,   FargoN.Dakota   (11.05.06)
Most U.S. Christians do support Israel. It's just Catholics and mainline Protestant churches which btw are empty that are ant-Israel
9. #1 John - correct
Michael ,   Seattle, WA   (11.05.06)
nail-on-the-head. Let us live for living's sake. not live to die.
10. #1, John, you sound like a bigot!
Sheikh yer Bu'Tay ,   Dar al-Harb   (11.05.06)
I am a Christian, why can I not love Jews??! To say "the relationship with the Jews is UNHOLY and untraditional."!!?? Utter nonsense! Who made you the decision maker for all Christians?? You are right about one thing. Hagee and his followers are all about the final battle and the coming of Messiah. So is Muhammad and his followers. Ancient prophecies are being fulfilled. Get ready.
11. #4 Dacon, if we can push God around
Connie ,   VA, USA   (11.05.06)
to try to make God do what we want that is arrogant. He will move and do what He wills when He wants to. He is the author of time and history will move according to Him. And it is moving toward His return because that is the way He said it would be. For the evangelicals to raise and give millions to Israel, they would certainly believe in the jews and Israel. btw they gave seven million this last time. Part of the seven million went to an orphanage in Israel.Your judging them by what happened centuries ago. That was then, this is now.
12. #5 Ordered????
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (11.05.06)
I seriously doubt that Bush "ordered" Israel to do anything. I'm sure the Israelis would have told him, very diplomatically, of course, what he could do with and where he could stick his "orders." If he made a suggestion, I'd venture to guess that he didn't do it without consulting with Israel. Short of pushing Israel into the sea, maybe everybody is trying to figure out what, exactly, would make those asshats, the Palis, happy enough to simmer down and start to build something instead of hurling threats and spreading death and destruction every frigging day. As for everybody's "using" everybody else, there are such things as mutual benefits, and there is nothing wrong with those. To the contrary! It would be stupid to overlook those opportunities. Humans being social animals, co-operation has always worked much better than confrontation, and I have the feeling that Israel would prefer that the Palis call their miserable refugee camps "The State of Palestine" and get those gnats out of its hair than to spend its resources on constantly having to clean up those jihadist rats' nests for reasons of sheer survival.
13. god bless you!
mira   (11.05.06)
thank you avangelical christians. may god of israel bless you. in my books you are jews. thank you!
14. israel
red peppers ,   carlbbean   (11.05.06)
i can't believe what im reading here on talkback. Those who are implying that evangelical christians somehow have a sinister plan to have the jewish people killed after the return of their messiah is utter nonsense. Our respect and love for israel and the jewish people comes from the fact that without the jews the would be no christianity, jews wrote most of the bible and they are god's chosen people and the land of israel belongs to them and i mean all of israel. Take a good look around and its clear for all to see who are the true enemies of israel, they are the radical islamist s and all those calling for israel's destruction.
15. My Fellow Christians Have Failed Israel
Marcel ,   Florida   (11.05.06)
As a Christian I am extremely sad about the corrupt political alliance with the one who divides and destroys Israel by his fasle peace Road Map. The Christian Church has failed Israel by FAILING WITH ONE VOICE TO WARN ISRAEL OF THE DANGER AND EVIL OF THE BUSH ROAD MAP. This false peace only bring death and destruction to Israel. For that I am very sorry Israel because you will suffer for this covenant with hell and death. Isaiah 28
16. I welcome Evangelical support, but....
Steve (the Jew)   (11.05.06)
We should welcome "unconditional" Evangelical / Christian support, that is NOT, support plus conversion. No. Unconditional support plus "nothing." Secondly and as important if not more important, no Israel-supporting Christian can one-in-the-same support George W. Bush, because Mr. Bush is obsessed with dividing the Holy Land and establishing a Palestinian Muslim terrorist state on the mountains of Israel; an abomination in the eyes of the G-d of Israel! Thus, don't tell me, Mr. and Mrs. Christian that you serve two masters, that you support both the G-d of Israel and Mr. Bush who is with Israel's enemies.
17. Enough with all the noise - American evangelicals....
Andy ,   ramat hasharon   (11.05.06)
are our freinds. They want good things for this country and for its people. They support us in words, prayers, money, lobbying the US government and and many ways that millions of American Jews do not. Nobody is using anybody. The truth is that Christian and Jewish spirituality are not far apart, becuase each is based on love thy neighbor and honor God. I feel grateful for the pro-Israel attitudes and pro-Israel deeds of these people.
18. gripping theological realities
Kate ,   Jerusalem   (11.05.06)
No mainline Christian theology accepts or teaches that Jesus can be brought back faster by converting the Jews. This idea is rabbinic in it's core - some rabbis teach that the messiah will come when all Jews do ........ (fill in the blank - usually associate with keeping the Shabbat). In Christian theology, nothing any follower does or declines to do has any effect on Jesus return or the end of days. We in Israel need to get a grip and stop fearing our friends.
19. To Mr. Brog
Steve (the Jew)   (11.05.06)
"Brog claims, "it would be completely different if the American government were pressuring Israel to give up land." If this were so, Brog says, "Christian Zionists would come down on them (the American government) like a ton of bricks." Mr. Brog, with all due respect, you are terribly naive. You really do not believe Mr. Bush has been pressuring Israel? G-d help you. What has Mr. Bush been doing in his six years of office other than scold Israel for defending herself and invest tremendous political capital to divide the Holy Land? I am astounded at what you are claiming! Please tell me I don't understand what is going on in front of my eyes as well as behind the scenes. How can we count you as a friend when you cover for this president and this administration?
20. #12, Mr. Hartley (Yes ordered.)
Steve ,   USA   (11.05.06)
M. Hartley, yes ordered! Where have you been? What planet are you living on? My goodness. May I ask, are you a Chistian or a Jew?
21. #15 Marcel, you may be my kind of Christian friend
Steve (the Jew)   (11.05.06)
22. How sad...So many Jews can't trust anybody.
Craig ,   USA   (11.05.06)
I find it incredible, really, so many Jews can't even distinguish between friend and foe, don't even take the time to understand from history who did what to whom. Or are these posters simply Jew-Haters in disguise...trying to sew dissent, because they can't stand the fact that TRUE Christians, love Israel and would gladly give their own lives in defense of our Jewish brothers - regardless of our differing opinions about the true identity of Yeshua? Do Jews in general so love the mantle of victimhood...that they automatically reject anything (Christian friendship) which threatens this core identity? For what it is worth - It was predominantly the Catholics which so abused Jews in the past...NOT Evangelical!!! The Catholics are responsible for more Protestant deaths throughout history than any other group...by far. There is a difference. I don't blame the Jews for not trusting the Catholics. Liberal Protestant denominations also do not follow Scripture...as regards to Jews and in other aspects as well. Any religion which claims its head (the Pope), ever speaks for God, and who by so doing can totally influence its followers is not to be trusted EVER!! All that is necessary for betrayal is for an evil Jew hating man to become Pope...it has happened before. I urge Jews everywhere to indeed BEWARE of the Catholic Church. The article is about Evangelicals!! NOT Catholics. Evangelicals don't follow any man, they follow Scripture. Evangelicals, while recognizing their are some bad Jews, evil Jews...just like in any ethnicity or religion, love the Jewish People as a whole. Evangelicals do believe we are in the "End Times"...but we are under no illusion that we can usher in the return of the Messiah by pretending to befriend Jews...WHAT UTTER RUBBISH!! I, and millions of other Evangelicals, would, if asked by the Israeli government, quickly go to Israel and take up arms in defense of our Jewish brothers. I doubt you need this type of help...so we do what we can financially and with Prayer. The Jews are God's chosen...how lucky you are; sadly a vast majority have become secular...this is why things seem to go from bad to worse for Israel. May God in His Power and Mercy...grant us discernment in these increasingly perilous times and draw us all to true repentance.
23. Catholics and Israel
Frank Pfaff ,   Boca Raton, FL   (11.05.06)
Rod from Fargo, in talkback #8, makes a blanket statement that Catholics and mainline Protestants are anti-Israel. I'm a Catholic, and I'm here to tell you that Rod is flat out mistaken. My belief is NOT 'replacement' theology!! Israel is irreplaceable. Israel is the ROOT, the 'one' olive tree planted by God and nurtured by Him since the days of Abraham. Our faith teaches that the gentile Christians have been 'grafted' onto that tree. Thus we do NOT REPLACE Israel, but are joined to it -- by means of God's gracious kindness. Thus, as one recent pope put it: "we are all spiritual Semites." I am confident that the manner in which God Himself works out, in the fullness of time, the relationship between Israel and the Church, (the 'elder brothers' and the 'younger brothers') is going to be extraordinarily beautiful. In the meantime we are ALL called to love one another.
24. Thank you Evangelical Christians!
Esteban ,   Buenos Aires Argent   (11.05.06)
Thank you avangelical christians. may god of israel bless you. Thank you!
25. Brog befuddles me
Steve ,   USA   (11.05.06)
Ynet wrote: "Brog asserts that while the evangelicals indeed oppose exchanging land, "they wouldn't do anything concrete to try to block it and they would still love the Jewish people because they are commanded to love the Jewish people." This is simply amazing. So what Brog is saying, if he knew his friend was going to commit suicide, Bog would not do anything other than love him and support him in the decision.
26. #22 A longer historical memory is key
Kate ,   Jerusalem   (11.05.06)
You assert that only "Catholics" persecuted the Jews. Your history is a bit foggy. Catholics and Protestants are guilty (ie: Luther). But if one dares to look honestly - it was mainly Catholics and protestants IN Europe who participated in persecutions. Catholics in the east neither persecuted nor taught persecution of Jews. Interestingly, the Pagans of Europe also persecuted Jews (edict of Claudius 49 CE). The modern "non-religious" Europeans also participate in anti-semetism regularly. That all Europe became Catholic for a time - seems to point Catholicism as the guilty party. It may, in fact, be a European phenomena.
27. Daniel Yalon is not telling the truth
Steve ,   USA   (11.05.06)
This is critical. Read carefully: Ynet wrote: "Israeli Ambassador to the US Daniel Ayalon, who is finishing four-and-a-half years in Washington, concurs (with Brog) "Before the execution of the disengagement plan, some senior evangelical leaders contacted me and wanted to know if Israel is withdrawing from the Gaza Strip because of pressure put on the government," he told Ynet. Indeed, Brog says, the central goal of Christians United for Israel is to prevent the US from pressuring Israel to give up land. "I made it clear to them that this was an independent decision of the Israeli government. I explained the plan's logic, and this satisfied them," Ayalon said. Ayalon is not telling the truth. These are the facts. Bush announced his vision of a Palestinian terrorist state only days after the Sept. 11, 2001 atrocities on American soil. This was at the good pleasure of his Saudi terrorist friends who required it or else. Bush capitulated even though 15 of the 19 September hijackers were Saudis and in light of the fact that the Saudis were and are up to their necks supporting international terrorist jihad against the U.S. The following is part of a CNN transcript. First we have Sharon's response to Bush's betrayal: http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0110/06/smn.06.html ARIEL SHARON, ISRAELI PRIME MINISTER: “I call on the Western democracies and primarily the leader of the free world, the United States: Do not repeat the dreadful mistake of 1938 when enlightened European democracies decided to sacrifice Czechoslovakia for a convenient temporary solution. Do not try to appease the Arabs on our expense. This is unacceptable to us. Israel will not be Czechoslovakia. Israel will fight terrorism.” JOHN KING: What angered Washington most was Sharon's comparison to Europe ceding parts of Czechoslovakia to Hitler, suggesting that in its aggressive effort to court Arab nations for the coalition against terrorism, the United States was turning its back on Israel's security. ARI FLEISCHER, WHITE HOUSE SPOKESMAN: The president believes that these remarks are unacceptable. Israel can have no better or stronger friend than the United States, and better friend than President Bush. KING: Secretary of State Colin called Sharon once to voice the president's displeasure, then again later, after the prime minister agreed to issue a conciliatory statement. There you have it. Powell, Rice, whoever doing some hard arm-twisting. So come on Yalon and Brog. Please don't lie to us in behalf of Bush and his administration. He's an enemy of mine. That's all. You two can sleep with the devil. Don't count me in on it. Thanks.
28. Number 6 is wrong
gabi lawrence ,   braintree england   (11.05.06)
You obviously do not know the bible. christians have done terrible things to the people of th G-d of Israel and we all will be judged oneday. I love the G-d of Israel that is why I as a christian love His people and pray that I can comfort them as He commanded in Isiah 40.
29. Thank U, Y-net, for all these outlandish comments!
Sheikh yer Bu'Tay ,   Dar al-Harb   (11.05.06)
I have been participating in Y-net talkbacks for maybe 4-5 months. It has been fun and a real eye-opener! Most of the Jews in these talkbacks hate Americans guts for backing the two state peace solution that gives Arabs some land. Most Arabs in these talkbacks hate Americans guts for all the support we give to Israel. In the 60's, Pres. Lyndon Johnson said, Americans are "Damned if we do, and Damned if we don't"! My, O my! If only I could control all the billions of US foreign aid dollars we damned Christian Americans dish out! I would cut all of you off, and not give you one dime! Fend for yourselves, and let nature take it's course. Then I would take all that money and use it to make America a better place for Americans! A change-up is coming in the American Congress. Tuesday, Nov. 7th, you will see.
30. #19...Steve
Craig ,   USA   (11.05.06)
I have to agree with you on this issue. I find it hard to believe how anyone who is paying close attention could come to any conclusion other than that Mr. Bush and his administration is fully behind the plan to divide Israel and give the land for a Palestinian state. I think the 'problem' arises with symantics. The article uses the word "pressure"...it may be technically correct. President Bush and the current leftist appeasers in charge of Israel may be in complete agreement about this course of action...no need for "pressure". Regardless...President Bush's stance is not only foolish & dangerous, but anti-christian as well. A bit ironic, as he claims to be a born-again believer. I have never been able to determine for sure if President Bush is a deceiver or simply ignorant and in way over his level of competence. I did read that it was Condi Rice who "pressured" Israel to complete the Gaza withdrawl prematurely....basically forcing Israel to give up a number of security stipulations which the Israelis had been insisting on. However, the story I read was that she did this on the urging of some influential liberal Jewish organization that she met with just prior to her last trip before the final withdrawl. Who can know for sure, whether Olmert was glad for any pressure he got or was really bullied? Just remember, that the Evangelical base are pretty much unanimous in their opposition to 'dividing' or relinquishing ANY land. As for President Bush...I personally have never trusted the man. In my opinion, he at best 'serves two masters'. He has demonstrated his duplicity in many areas, not the least of which has been his almost refusal to protect our (USA) Southern border from wholesale invasion. Israel..you must stop putting trust in any country or international group. Return to your God, only He can deliver you. Alas, New Testament Scripture indicates that your leaders will continue seeking earthly guarantees for your security, evil will continue to increase "as birth pains upon a woman" and that Israel will eventually be betrayed. Forewarned is forearmed, as the saying goes...don't be dismayed, instead use this time to seek your God and see if their is any sin in your lives individually. In the end, we are each only responsible for our own spiritual condition. God will not be silent forever.
