Ben-Aharon ,   Jerusalem   (11.08.06)
You write: "Anybody in the State of Israel who attacks in any matter whatsoever an elected official or an appointed person of authority whether in uniform or not should be sentenced to jail, with a mandatory sentence of minimum 5 years. This should be a law passed by the Knesset. Anybody who does not like this law or any other law of the State and intends to act in violence should preempt and hand in his passport and ID, goodbye". Now please apply this bill of yours first to the arabs that attacked minister Ariel Sharon on the Temple mount in 2000. Stop being selective hypocrite!
32. free democratic country
CORAL ,   TEL-AVIV   (11.08.06)
We are a free democratic country. These gay people can do their parade. The ones who should be stopped and arrested are the haredim and only them. They are the only ones who do whatever they want in this country like not serving in the army...
33. Hey #12 daniel the law is meaningless...
Israel   (11.08.06)
when it only applies to religious and rightwingers, but not to leftist terrorist collaborators and leftist politicians! there is no equality here down with leftist elite system storm the bastille!
34. Secular Coercion!
T.R.W. ,   World   (11.08.06)
It seems that these days any time someone religious stands up against or for something the secular people shout "religious coercion!!!" The seculars have made what they call being "liberal" the only way to be. what this means is that anything religious is fascist and anything secular is liberal and ok. Not OK this liberalism has become its self a facistic coercive suppressive cult of secular fanatics who rule out the feelings and wants of any one different from themselves. Jerusalem is a holy city with a majority of religious Jews, Christians & Moslems. If they do not wish that this 'event' take place in their majority city, and the seculars want to do it anyway with out disscussing it and considering these feelings than this is the true coercion by the seculars who have become exactly what they despise: a cult of "secular religionists", whose 'lawsof liberalism' take the place of the ten commandments/Sha'aria and they have no tolerance for others feelings.
35. to #25
john ,   canada   (11.08.06)
Its exactly the same. First of all compare the number of muslims and the number of jews around the world. You will find what happened comparable. Also, the point is, for christians, jews and muslims if it comes to their religion they react the same exact way. By going to the streets. You might think the cartoons was not a good reason for anger, but when dealing with religion issues look at how its received by the affected people not by you. It might be ok to jews to make fun of their profits but its totally not ok for muslims. same as its not ok for both muslims and jews to have a gay parade in jerusalem , but might not be such a problem for others.
36. TO # 28 MAKES ME LAUGH
Dodi ,   UK   (11.08.06)
37. #21 deprived haredim
Marcus   (11.08.06)
Exactly what are the haredim deprived of? I could only wish to be so deprived, to not have to work, not worry about having to join the military possibly lose my life defending my home, to not have to worry that my family, friends and loved ones will lose their lives in the military, defending their homes. To just relax at home, doing whatever I feel like while the government and other taxpayer schmucks pay for everything I want and need. Could we all be so deprived. But then their wouldn't be a state of Israel for the haredim to abuse and reject.
38. US JEWS ARE AGAINST THE GAY PARADE
ROSENBERG ,   FL,USA   (11.08.06)

Daniel   (11.09.06)
The law is not meaningless. It has to be applied equally. If instead of tolerating Jewish religious stone throwers they were rounded up and jailed with other common crimnals they might not be percieved as having special rights. As to leftists, terrorist collaborators et.al.If they break the law they need to be treated the same way. No one is above the law.
40. gay
bob ,   country   (11.09.06)
then what is Las Vegas
41. Who's more dangerous?
Petra ,   usa   (01.18.08)
I wonder sometimes, gays don't direct religious bigotry. If you don't want the parade, look the other way. Maybe these 'rabbis' should seek employment? Gays are people too, you don't have to lie with then just grant them the freedom under the law that is part of a democracy. If you prefer, go to iran, I hear they got rid of all gays.
42. Gays wont stay in the closet
Petra ,   usa   (01.18.08)
and I frankly prefer honest gays than dishonest pedophiles who pose as rabbis or, "The Religious". Who want to kill gays.
