31. PEACE, PLEASE
hugot ,   Paris, France   (11.09.06)
Years ago, Golda Meir said exactly '"Israël is in danger of peace " : she hoped that jewish immigration to Israël would grow up if jewish people was persecutated somewhere. around the world. So, beeing hated is good for jewish people ???? Going on this murdering politic, sure, is a good way, the best way for death everywhere and for everybody. I don't leave in Israël, but in Paris. I'm so sad, not just me. Really, Israël politic of war and real interest of jude people ar not at all the same.
32. Stop
Derek ,   San Francisco, USA   (11.09.06)
Please stop saying that Israel is on the defense. Millions of people have been forced from their homeland into the tiny ghetto/prison of Gaza. Israel has killed a multitude more residents in Gaza than the other way around. How is this "fighting back?"
33. As I've recommended sometime
NTI ,   Red Chili   (11.10.06)
earlier, just take out all the calibration, aiming apparatus, and shoot. Let the stupig muslims have a taste of their own medicine. muslims lobed thousands of "harmless" rockets and missiles into Israel, no one protested. Therefore, no one should protest when unguided, aimless, primitive and "harmless" artillery shells hit something. Just blame those unlucky ones who stood in the way (clever islamic justifications).
34. #32 Deranged Derek
NTI ,   Red Chili   (11.10.06)
The number of casualties does not prove anything. It is who started it that counts, stupig. It is just too bad that those stupig muslims of yours are not able to kill as many non-muslims as they had wished to, that's it. Go, have your braincells checked, to see if you still have any, or all dead.
35. #34 Who started it?
Derek ,   San Francisco, USA   (11.10.06)
Sorry for being a stupig. I should have made it clearer that when the Palestinians were violently forced out of the land they had lived on for hundreds of years so that another group could colonize it, the war began. How did the Palestinians start this? By fighting to hold on to their land? Doesn't it make sense that this transition has been difficult for everyone involved? Ok, sorry. Let's assume that all that was resolved with fair treaties dividing the land decades ago, and start with a clean slate. Since then, the Israeli government has decided to illegally encroach even deeper into what little the Palestinians have left, divide it to further ghettoize them, limit transportation, cripple vital social support systems, and cut off water supplies. Whatever the rationalization (reactionary, punitive, whatever), this counts as an act of aggression, and it is sure to provoke resistance. Yes, both sides have done horrible things, and the violence put forth from both sides deeply saddens me. But don't tell me that the Palestinians should take all the blame. Also, notice how my word choice of "Israeli Government," as opposed to "stupid dirty Jews" or some equivalent of the empty, but hatefully-intended language often used on this site against all Palestinians in general. Even though I am often disgusted by choices made by the IDF and Israeli leadership, I love the people of Israel and wish them safety.
36. Derek, get your facts straight!
Avner ,   Israel   (11.10.06)
You said: "Millions of people have been forced from their homeland " -- what rubbish! (Read accepted facts of history, not Palestinian propaganda, for a change) Excuse me, whose homeland? Jews have been praying to return to their homeland for 2000 years, so just where do the Palestinians who did not even go by that name before 1967 fit into that picture? The Arab migrants (whom you call palestinians of 100s of years) flocked to this land because of Jewish success here in the late 1800s and early 1900s. When the creation of a homeland for the Jews became inevitable after the horrors of the holocaust, it was a war that was forced upon young Israel by our peace loving co-existant friendly Arab neighbors, that "violently" caused Palestinians (actually Arabs) to flee from here! Those are the undestorted facts of the history of this area in case you did not know! You seem to completely confuse your own knowledge of the facts! Before the intifada broke out, Israel was well on the way to brokering peace with the Palestinians just 6 years ago. They were already governing themselves and living completely independent from Israeli occupation. Only they messed it all up when they refused peace. You do not get it! Palestinian militant terrorist groups do not want peace. They PREFER to engage in fighting and terrorizing Israeli civilians. Their agenda is the same as that of Al Qaida, just on a smaller scale. The clever Palestinians are ALONE to blame for all their own troubles today. Why did they continue to fire hundreds of rockets into Israel after we completely left Gaza last year? Is that not provocation? Why did they strangle their own Gazan economy by continually targeting border terminals which we agreed to open for the export of their goods? Blame them, not us!
37. you have thought you guys would be bigger than this

38. #31: Golda avait Raison mon ami
(11.11.06)
unfortunately, Golda Meir was right when she said that quote. Consider that before the Camp David accords Israel had been getting larger and stronger with each passing decade, and if we hadn't chickened out at the end of the Yom Kippur war, we could have crushed our enemies and brought an end to the fighting altogether. Since the Camp David Accords Hamas and hundreds of other terrorist organizations like it have popped up throughout the Middle East in hope of achieving the same thing that Saddat achieved, weakening Israel through peace. And since then Israel has not had a moment of true peace, but has been fighting on multiple fronts with its hands tied behind its back, and growing weaker by the decade while causing needless suffering to the people around it. This is exactly the danger that Golda Meir spoke of.
39. Palestinians responsible for deaths of Palestinians
DrRJP ,   Florida, USA   (10.25.07)
When Palestinians themselves continually bombard Israel civilian centers with rockets, there are no such thing as "innocent" Palestinians. If they will not stop firing rockets, then why should the IDF stop firing back? It is such leftist liberal garbage. Instead ofd blaming the IDF, you should be blaming Hamas and Al Aksa Martyrs. The world community will continue to blame Israel regardless of what it does, but doing nothing is far worse than any collateral damage the IDDF could do. The way to stop the rockets is to kill 100 Palestinians for every rocket they fire -- then, maye they'll get the message.
