31. 6 buildings, but only 2 shells unaccounted for
basic math ,   Israel   (11.08.06)
I realize that Israel was firing artillery in the area, but I also realize that the Palestinians and the world at large were quick to point accusing fingers during the death of Muhammad Adura, the Gaza beach incident, etc. Currently, only 2 shells are unaccounted for and may have deviated. How then did they hit six structures? Why still this kneejerk reaction that the IDF Must be to blame, given the track record that it is often Not to blame?
32. Where are the sympathies for the missiles that strike Israel
Steve ,   USA   (11.08.06)
B"H I see no sympathy for Israel when a missile strikes Sderot. There is no condemnation, and the intent is different? Civilian deaths are bad. But so are missile strikes against civilians FROM Gaza that continue unabated. For the shelling to stop to Gaza, it needs to stop from Gaza also. One cannot expect Sderot residents inside the 1967 Green Line to accept military strikes continuously and the Israeli army to do nothing about it except prosecute the Jews that bitteryly complain about the situation.
33. To #22, Jeff
Alexander ,   Sweden   (11.08.06)
"IDF continues to do as much as possible to strike only at the terrorists." Yes, I'm sure every precaution was taken to avoid civilian deaths when the 2-3 million bomblets were dropped over Lebanon, 90% of which during the last 72 hours of this summer's conflict. Only Palestinian terrorists show a disregard for civilian lives right? Maybe it's time for some people to wake up and smell the coffee.
34. to #8 you are not a Jew!
jason white ,   afula,israel   (11.08.06)
Accidents happen in war.So what, some terrorists and their families were killed.Let them bleed daily for what they have done to us.Let them feel the pain that they brought on themselves. Screw eurabia and their crying for their Jew-killer proxies. The U>S. should keep quiet.Look at the civilian deaths in iraq, afganistan, not to mention what happened in vietnam, cambodia, ect.
35. On deep disturbance
New Yorker ,   NY   (11.08.06)
Perhaps Margaret Beckett should be taking tranqualizers so she does not get so deeply disturbed over selected issues and instead starts taking it easy just when she does while Sderot residents are "inconvenienced" by "toy" rockets.
36. How many civilians did the US Kill in a foreign War in Iraq
Sam Weinstein ,   USA   (11.08.06)
How many civilians did the US Kill in a foreign War in Iraq. Israel accidently kills some peopleby accident after rocket attacks from Gaza and they go ape. Such Hypocrocy
37. Photo
Pieter ,   The Netherlands   (11.08.06)
My opinion about the photo. A bountiful little girl wondering: Mama!!!!!, WHY IS THIS IDIOT CARRYING ME AROUND??????
38. Justification
Joe Simon ,   Kfar Aviv, Israel   (11.08.06)
How come there is no world outcry when the "Palestinians" shoot rockets at innocent Israeli civilians?
39. Israel- DONT stop!
(11.08.06)
40. how many malfunctions it takes for ultimate Israel’s defeat
observer   (11.08.06)
what is the threshold on the scale of failure that has to be hit by Israel to reach the ultimate defeat. http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3325146,00.html Y net, do you have the courage to post it ?
41. How does attacking prevent attacks?
Monika ,   Tivon, Israel   (11.08.06)
“When you fire artillery shells toward this area there is a good chance that you are preventing an attack.” -Maj.-Gen. Yoav Galant, the IDF, as an explanation for today's attack in Gaza. Well, maybe you prevented an attack today, but tomorrow there will be even more kasamim ready to go, not to speak of people ready to fire them. As we all saw in the recent Libanon War II, attacking definitely did not prevent the 'katiushot' coming. And when Libanon attacked us it caused immidiate retaliations. Attacks are not preventing any attacks. On the contrary. Let us start negotiations instead.
42. The Diaspora Jews pay the price for
Mark ,   USA   (11.08.06)
The incompetence of the Israeli Army!! I wonder why people hate Israel so much? Here is an example!!
43. Malfunction
Sagi ,   Israel   (11.08.06)
The pullout from Gaza - malfunction Amir Peretz - malfunction Olmert - malfunction Oslo - malfunction Daily Kassams - malfunction Gaza standing - malfunction Nasseralla breathing - malfunction I was always told that the Jews are the cleverest people on earth, mal mal mal, tres mal.
44. To No. 28
New Yorker ,   NY   (11.08.06)
You wrote : "it was estimated..." and “When you fire artillery shells toward this area..." these two being the operative clauses, I guess you can act this careless when there is nobody to hold you accountable. Israel should have more than "estimate" and "firing toward that direction" I estimate that malfunction is a BS to appease the world comdemnation... " Wrong. Israel should do no more than whatever is necessary to protect its citizenry from attacks emanating from Gaza. And if those attacks routinely come from a populated area - too bad for the population who should and will pay a horrible price for serving as human shield, thereby turning into a WILLING accomplice in an ongoing, incessant, indiscriminate aggression the muslim arabs wage against Israel. Israel does not have to sacrifice her own citizens for the sake of making the rest of the world, including you, feel good. Sorry.
45. I HATE HAMAS FOR HIDEING BEHIND CIVILIANS.
MOHAMMAD ,   CA,USA   (11.08.06)
46. TO FRENCH FOREIGH MINISTER
SAM ,   FL,USA   (11.08.06)
WHY DON'T YOU CONDEM INDISCRIMINATE KASSAM ATTACK.
47. DF: Malfunction possible cause of Gaza incident
ERICK ,   FRANCE / PARIS   (11.08.06)
it is obviously an error in coordinates shouting set up, but yet it should have to be the only efficiency reply to each qassam firing and to each further suicide bomb attacks. As a jew in war, i do not want to apologize for those palestinian civilian death.
48. No apologies necessary.
Michael ,   Beit Shemesh   (11.08.06)
The Brits should stick their heads back up their asses and shut up.
49. #22 but the shells could not read the labels on them
observer   (11.08.06)
next time Israel will: make sure that the labels are in bold letters, refine the teaching of shells to read correctly, and continue -as we started today- eliminating the civilians from around the terrorists! .
50. OLMERT MUST GO!!!
Michael Steiner   (11.08.06)
This cannot continue. What happened was nothing but murders and there is NO justification for it. Rather than conducting these pointless and perilous military adventures, Israel should concentrate on inventing laser and other types of system to preempt rocket attacks. The technology exists; implement it. Olmert, you've been an utter failure and have done more damage to Israel's image, integrity and morality than even Boobiyahu ever could. JUST GO!! http://locham.blogspot.com/2006/11/bye-bye-olmert.html
51. #41 - you're right - it doesn't....
Andy ,   ramat hasharon   (11.08.06)
only we don't have leaders with the balls to start negotiating. Talking to our enemies. We will just keep bombing and counter-bombing. As the kassems keep falling......face it folks, its not working. We need new policies.
52. #36 So, which of which is trigger happy?
observer   (11.08.06)
53. #19 Bancor's brain=rancor, because
dd   (11.08.06)
you see only what you want to see.No matter how unfortunate the death of innocent people is both in Gaza and Israel you always have to look at the real cause: THE OUTRIGHT WISH OF THE PALESTINIANS TO KILL ALL THE ISRAELIS (THE jEWISH ONES,OF COURSE). Can't you see what is obvious - the 4,000 or more Qassam rockets were not launched by Israel but by the Palestinians against Israeli towns in order to kill, destroy and disturb normal civilian life. Can't you see that suicide bombing was invented by the Palestinians with the only reason to kill, maim and destroy anyone around, Jews, Arabs and Gentiles. Haven't you heard that Israel retired from Gaza two years ago ? Are you that blind not to see that all their bombing, arms gathering, feuding between factions, killings, kidnappings of foreign journalists, etc.,etc.,etc., have been intensified since Israel's retreat from Gaza ? Why? Simply because THE PALESTINIAN DAILY AGENDA IS KILLING JEWS. PERIOD. Also, are you so madly blind not to notice that it was the Palestinians who broke into Israel to kidnap the IDF soldier Shalit, not the other way round? But your brains surely perceives it the opposite way because you must have been conditioned ONLY FOR SUCH PERCEPTIONS. A word of advice though: don't worry about the IDF and Israel's future, better worry about your stereotyped mind.
54. #8 Don't worry Aaron,
dd   (11.08.06)
we,too, feel ashamed with a person like you. I hope you are not Jewish.(End)
55. To No. 8, ashamed jew
New Yorker ,   NY   (11.09.06)
You don't have to be a jew - no reason to be ashamed. Do what your heart tells you. Be what you are not ashamed - if you can.
56. To all who attacked me for bien irrelevent jew
Aaron Rabinovich ,   Canada   (11.09.06)
It could be more precise to say I feel ashamed to be an Israely jew .The Judaism is great religion, but kidnapped by the Zionist like Islam nowaday kidnapped by Extremist like Wahhabist and alquaeda. What I want to say ,if the way wanted those Zionist to be and were right ,we should have resolved Israel problem long time ago since they kidnapped our mind and brain washed our humanitarian soul as well.Helas ,the truth hurt.
57. TO ALL ANTI-ISRAEL POSTERS
(11.09.06)
Know what you're talking about. The evil wicked men are Hamas bringing scourge and massacre on the intentional arab refugees squatting in Gaza. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3646238152925351957
58. Malfunction
Bachrach.A ,   Kfarsaba il.   (11.09.06)
War is a very dengerous thing.Who does'nt like to be shoot at,he has to ask for peace. What a scandal! What happened with the jews?It was so easy to kill and rob them. The world is not used to such a non jewish behavior and seemingly they don't want to be used to it.We are very sorry about what happened, but again, war is dangerous for both side. Andi mihakfar
59. Missiles from Gaza
Robert Carey ,   Brisbane Australia   (11.09.06)
The home made fireworks lobbed in the direction of Israel generally fizzle out in the sand of the Negev not hurting anyone. Deliberately shelling sleeping women and children in retaliation is over the top. Israel is the modern face of evil in the world.
60. The basic difference.........
NS ,   Long Island, NY   (11.09.06)
Here is the basic difference in this tragedy; the soldiers of the IDF don't get up in the morning, finish breakfast rolls and decide to deliberately target civilian targets. In military actions accidents happen. If all the anti-Israel talkbackers from France, Australia, Canada and the UK are willing to open up their military archives and criticize their countries "mistakes" then the maybe their criticisms might be taken seriously. But we all know that is not going to happen. Now when Hamas, al-Asqa and the Islamic Jihad get up in the morning, they have their breakfast pita and humus and then go about their business of attacking Israeli civilian towns, villages and farms. By the way these civilian targets are on the other side of the pre 1967 borders. No occupied territories here. Also no moral dilemmas on the part of the Palestinians. That is the main difference between the IDF and the terrorists. By the way to the Aussie who thinks the Qassem rockets are fireworks here is an idea; come to Israel, stand in the middle of Sderot, use your cell phone to call Hamas and tell them where you are standing. Let us know if the rockets are harmless.
