61. #52 USS liberty did not sink, but recked !
(11.09.06)
The ship itself, a Forty Million ($40,000,000) Dollar state of the art signals intelligence (SIGINT) platform, was so badly damaged that it never sailed on an operational mission again and was sold in 1970 for $101,666.66 as scrap http://www.ussliberty.org/report/report.htm
62. "holocaust" pan handlers- turned thieves & gangstas
Sam ,   Los Angeles, USA   (11.09.06)
Here in the US you are always begging for more. Even the French have helped you a lot, for which you are (naturally) ungrateful. It is time the farce of Israel ended and that you swine got shipped back to Germany/Poland/wherever you really belong!
63. Faisal the "indian"?
vishnu ,   india   (11.09.06)
What the lebanese, Israelis or UNIFIL do is there business. Faisal doesnt represent india. 81% of India are hindus. We are the third largest religion with absolutely NO history of anti semitism unlike islam or christianity.
64. Sam; The Jews are indigenous to Israel idiot!

F ,   Strasbourg, France   (11.09.06)
69. Stay cool ;)
Jeremy ,   UK   (11.09.06)
Yep, that's just true...People here seem always to express far beyond reality... France is a good sacrifice-goat, but remember: in 2000 unlike many european they opposed to war in Iraq... Now everybody know it's the greatest defeat of western nation against terror. And what do you think about those who withdrawed after total support? (Spain, Italy and now UK maybe?) That's a kind of white flag attitude isn't it?
70. Let the U.N. earn the money they spend
Andy Kron ,   New York U.S.A.   (11.10.06)
Maybe the French and the Arabs should follow the outline of the truce agreement, and dissarm Hezbolah, which is an agent of Al Queda
71. Israel was told to return to its borders.
Justin ,   USA   (11.10.06)
Israel was told by the UN and us the United States to return within it's borders. --- Perhaps this was a mistake, either way neither side is supposed to be outside of their respective airspace. Rules that apply to the Lebanese likewise apply to the Israelis. (Wasn't that the whole cause? Hezbollah going out of border in the first place.)
72. The powerfull French
Andy ,   New York USA   (11.10.06)
Does France still have weapons that they didnt sell to the Arabs?
73. #72 the correct answer to your question
H ,   Canada   (11.10.06)
Nuclear Missiles, but you will be please to know that this technology was sell to Israel 30 years ago... by France. A question for you does USA still have weapon that they didnt sell to the arabs? Same answer as previously...
74. Haha UN doing what?
matt ,   spokane USA   (11.10.06)
The UN is hardly "doing their jobs" as people think they are, Hezbollah is rearming under their nose and they are doing nothing to keep the peace. They wouldn't have fired on the Israeli aircraft under any situation because theyre FRENCH UN soldiers, who would rather run away than keep stability in a region.
75. hahahahahaha
(11.10.06)
76. Israeli Flyover
Dave Garretson Jr ,   San Jose, CA - USA   (11.10.06)
It must be gut-wrenching for the Israeli military to watch Hezbollah re-arm under the noses of the UN forces and Lebanese government. The Israelis are only trying to defend their country. Hezbollah has only one mission: the destruction of Israel. That's why I have little respect for Kofi and the other ineffective bureaucrats at the UN.
77. Dancing the Can Can
James McNamara ,   Broken Hill   (11.10.06)
The french are going to give the brave Hizbullah terrorists, lessons in ballet and preening. They might even dance the CanCan for them.
78. sam's comment
Judith ,   los angeles usa   (11.10.06)
Mr. Sam: We could certainly do without you or your ignorance here in our country.
79. France is looking for a fight
The Great Satan ,   USA   (11.10.06)
They have been since day one.
80. The real UNIFIL mission...
Matt ,   West Coast, USA   (11.10.06)
For those 2 blind 2 see. The Israelis are trying to keep an eye on Hezbollah and the rapid re-arming/re-equipping of their forces that has been going on since the cease-fire came into effect. The UN and any "peace-keepers" they have on the ground in Lebanon are worthless. Israel is surrounded by countries that are either completely bent on their destruction or at least have elements within their borders that are bent on their destruction. It is a sham and complete and utter skullduggery that the French can't keep Hezbollah from re-arming and re-entrenching in southern Lebanon but are threatening to fire on Israeli jets that are trying to keep an eye on what is happening? Are you kidding me? The Israeli's of old-pre-1990-would be kicking ass in the region including the imbecilic French/UNIFIL forces. The UN is a complete and utter sham - what a farce! Frenchy ought to try living surrounded by people that wish to kill him - oh, wait, he does - all those Muslim malcontent youths back home. The French might not be having that problem if they treated those people with a little more respect and honour and not like some pest you find in your home and can't get rid of. I would like any person out there to tell me why every current conflict on this planet, no matter where it is located geographically, involves Muslims - the one exception being the madman in North Korea. Can anyone answer that? And why is it that the more moderate Muslims (if there really are any) aren't speaking out about these atrocities that are being perpetrated around the globe by the so called extremists that have supposedly hi-jacked the Islamic faith? I don't care who you are - if you have hopes and dreams, bleed red blood, and want a better life then you are a human life that is just as precious and important as anyone else - why must we (humans) seek to hate and kill and view those different from us, which, they are not really [see above], as being something less then ourselves, or our faith, our religion, etc?
81. Israel should have sunk the German ship first
Not-Bill Clinton ,   Los angeles-USA   (11.10.06)
Maybe the Israeli's should have sunk the German frigate and blown the German Choppers out of ths ky, early in the game. I agree the French want a fight, for they feel that Israel is weakened at this point. Remember Europe still has scores to settle with the Jews. They wanted a jewish state in 1948, hoping that the Arabs would finish the work of Hitler. Didn't work huh Euro's. The Europeans had better tread lightly, for the Israel Air force can hit a Euopean capital, if inclined.
82. #81 jokeman
dwarf ,   euro   (11.10.06)
Israel hits german ships = israel is dead. Are you unable to understand that with 6 millions inhabitants, Israel has less inhabitants that there were soldiers in german army during WW2: it wouldn't be a massacre because german feel bad now to do anything against jews, but that would sign the definitive end of israel... You are just living in a world appart reallity... Israel is a dwarf for the whole world but in middle-orient
83. #79 nothing more false
Aznar ,   Spain   (11.10.06)
Remember, they didn't want to go there without express right from UN to be able of open fire against Hizbolla... But your genius, like condolleza blocked them. Now you are insulting france for what you forced her to be: be useless.
84. why didnt you shoot?
David ,   Houston   (11.10.06)
Its about time france fights(loses) another war. Its been a while since the arab lovers have lost a war-so why not. Take a shot at the Israelis and see what happens. Sounds like france is jealous that Israel has a bigger and much more powerful airforce. France is done for from the inside- the muslim problem is growing and they choose to fight someone who could help them.
85. Keep on lookin' for those soldiers Israel.
Chad Roberts ,   Livermore, CA, USA   (11.10.06)
If the frenchy's fire on IAF, then that will show the world that they are loyal to the Extemeist Islamofascists ie. hez-bollah-shites and el kaida because what...?? They are honoring the UN accord that stated Israel shall not fly into the no fly zone of southern Lebanon, BUT they are NOT honoring the UN accord that states hez-boll-of-shit fighters shall DISARM. ARE THEY TRYING TO TAKE OUT HEZBOLLAH?? NO!!!! Hezbollah is CONTINUING to RE-ARM and now has stockpiles of missiles aimed at taking out and destroying First, ISRAEL and 2nd, The UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! To HELL with that! When shariah-law takes over all the European nations, and it has already started, AMERICA'S REAL MEN (Not the pansies in office) WILL FIGHT TILL THE BITTER END. Or until Jesus comes down from the heavens and ANNIHILATES ALL FALSE RELIGIONS. IT IS COMING.
86. "Almost" fired on IAF planes?
Wayne ,   San Jose, USA   (11.10.06)
I doubt that the IAF had any real worries, as the French have difficulty shooting and running at the same time...
87. Disarming Hizbullah
Tony ,   France   (11.10.06)
Please people show me where resolution 1701 states UNIFIL should disarm Hizbullah? Their mandate is about preventing them from firing, and retaliating if they do. Now don't think I (or anyone, from Europe to the US) is happy with that. But if Israel is not happy with the way resolution 1701 was drafted, why did they accept it? Lebanon shamelessly pushed for a second, then a third draft during the war, why didn't you push for it?
88. To Jeremy from the UK, about Iraq
Tony ,   France   (11.10.06)
Jeremy, Tell me what Iraq had to do with terror before the war? No one liked Saddam Hussein, but as an authoritarian asshole he was fighting fundamentalists on his soil. What good did this war do to the region and Israel? You've got a breeding ground there now for Shiite militias that will be 10, 100 times the size of Hizbullah - with Iran's backing next door. Is looking beyond the tip of one's nose being a surrender monkey? Be honest, really. Today even US generals agree war in Iraq has favored terrorism rather than curb it down. And as usual, Israel will pay the price of this misplaced Western arrogance. I do believe America's (and the UK's) intention was to bring democracy to Iraq, as it was no threat to them or Israel. But now I think everyone can admit they failed miserably. I'm not happy with it. The Western world and Israel are in one and same basket and their fates are bound.
89. israel
bob n. ,   n.c. U.S.of A.   (11.10.06)
what about the daily rocket attacks from islamic radicals into israel everyday for past 30 yrs. WAKE UP
90. Right on CHAD!
Andrew House ,   Livermore, USA   (11.11.06)
