1. The Holy City of Jerusalem is Being Defiled
H ,   Jerusalem   (11.09.06)
and Israel's "High Court" sanctions it. Woe to us that we see such dishonor to G-d.
2. Compromise and cooler heads prevailed in Israel....
Andy ,   ramat hasharon   (11.09.06)
3. Finally!
Yossi ,   Tel Aviv   (11.09.06)
Israel has received such negative publicity for this, and both sides have behaved less than admirably. We should have showed the world that we Jews were able to reach compromise before a terrorist strike seemed imminent, but at least we managed to compromise in the end.
4. rioters should be kept in jail for the safety of the public
debra ,   usa   (11.09.06)
until the gay pride parade is over. then they should be charged with criminal acts and put on trial, and serve jail time if convicted and it is warranted. the law must apply equally to the rioting haredim as well as ever other israeli. i feel so badly for all the pain the gays have had to endure over this parade. may hashem comfort them.
5. Eyda Can Go Back to Sleep Now...
Dovy ,   Toronto   (11.09.06)
The Eyda Haredis hypocrites can go back to sleep comfortably under their beloved Zionist regime now that the parade is cancelled. The "holiness" of Jerusalem has now been restored, and you won't hear a peep from them about the abomination of Zionism any time soon.
6. this is boring
Nathan ,   Hoboken, NJ   (11.09.06)
zealots are boring, freedom is so much more interesting. don't you people have larger issues to deal with? corruption? war? Arabs? you are all so lame.
7. compromise.
Ely Greenhut ,   Jerusalem Israel   (11.09.06)
THEYSHOULD STAY BEHIND CLOSED DOORS FOREVER.
8. Shame on you Haredim ! u sold jerusalem !
sharon ,   jerusalem   (11.09.06)
9. God will punish us for this! this will bring God's anger !
sharon ,   jerusalem   (11.09.06)
10. Desecration of Holy Name of Hashem In public in Jerusalem
Nachum   (11.09.06)
Leviticus (20:13) Man that will sleep with a male the way you sleep with a woman they should be killed. The following is from Safer Hamitzvoth Rambam The sins that a person should allow to kill himself rather than transgress are Murder, serve Idols and Adultery which includes Homosexuality. and thru killing yourself you sanctify Hashems Name. If you transgress you profaned Hashems Name. And if you commited sin in front of Ten Jews you profaned Hashems Name in Public(Mechalel Shaim Shomayim Brabim) The above is even when you are forced to transgress with a gun pointing to your head. What desecration of Hashems Name and in public and the city of Jerusalem and the entire Israel will be commited if this perverted Parade will be allowd to proceed. Holiness is defined By Hashem Remember we were in Israel once before and were Exiled just because of these very Sins amongst others.
11. post #4
Robby ,   usa   (11.09.06)
debra may hashem cure you of your mental illnes
12. Absolutely not!!!
Marcus   (11.09.06)
The rioters should be kep tin prison, put on trial and imprison for the full term determined by the court as just for their crimes. Enough double standards for the haredim. All criminals belong in jail, not just the secular and the arabs.
13. Sounds good !
ezra ,   canada   (11.09.06)
At least a good proposition to avoid a major battle in the war of cultures inside Israel. All the fuss is because the gays wanted to parade in their their usual offensive way to jewish modesty in the streets of the holy city. This could only be perceived as a major attack by its inhabitants who are mainly religious. But if gays don't parade and just congregate inside a building, there is no provocation of the religious feelings of jerusalemites and everything should be fine.
14. #3 You Have it All Mixed Up, Yossi.
H ,   Jerusalem   (11.09.06)
If the orthodox Jews would have let it go as planned and compromised on the abomination in the holy city, the terrorists would have, by now, been all over Tel Aviv and who knows where else, Hashem yishmor. The "compromise" is not that they reached an agreement with the gay lawbreakers, BUT reached an agreement with G-D! For defiling Jerusalem the house of G-d, His wrath could mean the end of us, G-d forbid. Now, that the've changed the event to a closed place, the Rabbis have prayed to G-d, begging Him to let that be. Hopefully, G-d will accept the prayers of the Rabbis and restrain His anger.
15. finally we can move on to more important
finally some ,   sleep!!   (11.09.06)
things like protecting people from potential bomb threats...I am glad that everyone agreed to a compromise shame they didnt come to this conclusion sooner...both sides are at fault...one provoking the other showing intolerance...now finally we can all get on with our lives lets hope that its a joyous day for all on friday..
16. #5: Did You Say Sheep or Sleep?
emanon ,   USA   (11.09.06)
17. The wisdom of "master Magor"???? (answer here)
Magor disciple not ,   Non Gurke   (11.09.06)
Who is the mysterious and allegedly wise "master Magor"? For those who are curious the original Hebrew reads: "האדמו"ר מגור " Which correctly translates to "the Rebbe of Gur", more commonly known as the Gerrer Rebbe. Zilbershlag claims that the Rebbe deserves credit for his silence. The truth though is that this compromise was not, in any way, achieved by either the Gerrer Rebbe's silence or his wisdom. If anything it was achieved despite the Rebbe's silence and wisdom. The Rebbe simply allowed others to do all the work for him. No reason he should get any credit at all.
18. #4 Is the Pain of Immoral People Greatr Than ThePain of G-d?
H ,   Jerusalem   (11.09.06)
And you still expect G-d to comfort "them" - those who are purposely going against HIS laws? If anything, we have to comfort G-d for the compromise of this immoral event in His holy city. The Holy Torah (Leviticus chapter 18) mentions gays as one of the abominations to G-d, and you have the chutzpah of feeling bad for sinners instead of feeling bad for the HONOR of G-D. Shame on you for not knowing what's right and what's wrong; what's decent and what's indecent and what's moral and what's immoral. The Talmud teaches us "He who is merciful to the cruel, will become cruel to the merciful".
19. Our God is an awesome God
Steven ,   Los Angeles Calif   (11.09.06)
Surround the closed event and pray a mighty prayer to God, a prayer that is loud. Cry out to Him that these people will be destroyed and show the world the power of God - the God of Abraham, Jacob and Isaac.
20. Gay Parade
Michelle ,   USA   (11.09.06)
Having it in a stadium is certainly better, because it would not force people to be unwilling participants and they could feel safe about leaving houses and not have to worry about what they would see. Still think that not having it at all in Jerusalem would have been best. I'd recommend letting them have it in stadium this year, but then making a rule that they'd have to parade in places other than Jerusalem from now on.
21. Ely Greenhut (7)
sk ,   USA   (11.09.06)
Ely: "THEYSHOULD STAY BEHIND CLOSED DOORS FOREVER." Yes, Ely, but we have not, and will not, stay there; you will lose this fight. The "closet" requires gay people to play along with their own dhimmitude; they will not do so anymore. Believe me when I say this: Israeli gay groups are quite ineffective. For example, there has not been a single Haredi biggy who has been outed as gay, but we all know that there must be a number of them, and we can imagine the ripple effect this tactic would have in the Haredi community. Civilized people learn to get along. Fanatics do not. Arabs are fanatics; Haredim are ...?
22. ezra (13)
sk ,   USA   (11.09.06)
ezra, there will be a "parade" of sorts, but apparently it will be more of a march, ending in a stadium rally. I still don't know exactly the details, and neither do you. Don't pooh-pooh a march: the US black civil rights movement had not a single "parade," and it did quite well. If there is no real march, I think gay organizers negotiated away too much. Despite what one liar in particular has been posting on Ynet, "the gays" have never paraded in Jersualem the same way they parade in Tel Aviv. Learn it already. Anyway, I'm a bit tired of all this by now, and evidently I am not alone.
23. #5 The Eyda CANNOT Go To Sleep Now
H ,   Jerusalem   (11.09.06)
Now that Jerusalem is still be defiled albeit not in such a public affair, the Rabbis are praying to G-d, begging Him to turn His wrath away.
24. Garbage Pride Parade
Yousaf Raven ,   Spring Valley, USA   (11.09.06)
Is the Garbage Man proud of his profession as he parades down the block collecting a deathly stench? Probably not enough to demand a Garbage Pride Parade. Besides, a Garbage Pride Parade would be literally an abominable mess! However, there would be no fear of backlash from the innocent bystanders perplexed at the garbage men cavorting through their neighborhood. The prideful garbage men are used to what their parade represents. Just don’t expect the streets to be cleaned up by impressionable children and their parents watching in disbelief as trash accumulates down their very streets. It will be the garbage men themselves, along with the scavengers, who will pay for their mess because that’s what they identify with most: GARBAGE. Send in the clowns...
25. H (14), don't be silly.
sk ,   USA   (11.09.06)
The terrorists would be all over Tel Aviv now if they had the weaponry and force to do so. There was no "compromise" with God by the rabbis. They knew they would fail in their absolutist demands, and, being deeply political, they knew they did not want to fail publicly. If God were nearly so vengeful and impatient with the Jewish people, He would have destroyed Jerusalem THE OTHER THREE TIMES that this parade (it was a clear parade before) occurred there. Thus: PARADE 1 -> no destruction of J PARADE 2 -> no destruction of J PARADE 3 -> no destruction of J march -> no destruction of J It will have nothing to do with the rabbis, who, in any event, had no problem expelling Jews from Israel and giving the land to killer goyim. THAT should have brought REAL wrath.
26. I feel sorry for you people....
14ipeace ,   Long Branch, NJ   (11.09.06)
Your fight is over holy Jerusalem, your battle is over holiness and God's will...wake up....throwing rocks and harming your fellow Jews is not Gods way...you whole claim to be religious and holy have proved yourselves to be judgemental haters...far from gods will....pathetic
27. Modest proposal #2
Ilan ,   Ariel   (11.09.06)
How about a public event without the exhibitism? Most gay people live normal lives and many have stable relationships. How is it that they let themselves be represented by rawdy dancing around undressed in public?
28. Parade compromise
Jacob Engelmayer ,   Modiin   (11.09.06)
Why should those who burned cars and damaged property be released as a pre-condition for a stop of VIOLENT and barbaric protests? To release them would give all those who wish to act like animals freedom to do so again with no fear of any repercussions. The protestors should read the Good Book a few more times to see how people are supposed to act.
29. Follow up to my (22)
sk ,   USA   (11.09.06)
Apparently, there will be no march to the stadium (according to JPost). I therefore think the gay organizers seriously erred. We'll see, though. If there is the yearly pride parade in J. next year, the gay organizers will have acted well; if there is not one, the organizers will have failed. Yes, the stadium option was intolerable to the Haredim for the same reason that a parade route that avoided all holy sites and Haredi neighborhoods was intolerable. But the question is the longer-term trend. I sure wish Israeli gay political groups were at least competent enough to have working email addresses. But that is perhaps too much to expect.
30. sk USA. Thank G-D
Ely Greenhut ,   Jerusalem Israel   (11.09.06)
you do not live in Israel you attack people with useless words that are against Torah & ethics. You lost . No parade, Jerusalem won
