1. I no longer have even a dog in this fight!
Richard ,   Open Range, USA   (11.09.06)
I read that 87% of all Amer. Jews voted Demo. My time and money will be used in getting our rural, Protestant, Republican, Christian soldiers out of the Middle East. Let John Kerry & liberal Demos send their sons and daughters into battle (NOT!!)
2. Richard, tell me about it...
Jake   (11.10.06)
Though I did not vote in this election (between one bad choice and another), I find it amazing that Jews in America have a knee-jerk tendency to vote for the Democrats. I simply cannot figure out why. In my district, Jim Moran, a viscious anti-Semite who blamed the war in Iraq on American Jews, was the Democrat House candidate and most Jews gave him their vote. I hope that the Republicans rally behind Giulani in 2008; he is the only Republican likely to win.
3. I don't blame you, Richard
George ,   Atlanta, GA   (11.10.06)
although I am a Zionist. I agree: the American (and many Israeli) Jews' political moves are flat-out suicidal. Stephen Schwartz has written a pretty good book about Jewish lobbyists, which attempts to explain how and why this is happenning.
4. There is NO way you can blame Iraq on the Dems
JD ,   Portland Oregon   (11.10.06)
It was Bush and his rubber stamp Republicans who sent your rural, Protestant, Republican, Christian soldiers to the Middle East. Please at least give it a week before attempting revisionist history.
5. Hey Richard: what about our hispanic and black soldiers
Fairness ,   USA   (11.10.06)
over there in Iraq? Don't they fight just as hard? Are they less deserving of your "time and money" then your perfect little rural, white Protestants?
6. 30% of America Jews vote Republican
alan ,   frisco   (11.10.06)
we a minority true it will take cold water to wake us up true something about being against the Czar has not filtered out of our culture here. Many of the Dems hate Jews and Israel. The policy shifts will be slow and incrementally against Israel. You think Rice was bad for Israel. Wait till you see what Baker does with an alliance with Dems
7. Jake
Wanda ,   Montreal   (11.10.06)
The Iraq war can indeed be traced back to think-tanks and advisors with salient dual-allegiance: it is a fact. Think Wolfowitz, Perle, and other signatories of PNAC. Go on, look it up: is wikipedia anti-semitic? Or could it be possible that anyone admittedly pro-Israel or pro-anywhere-else is not a suitable candidate for authorizing US policy. Personally, I consider it brazen treachery.
8. to#1 and#2
PatriotUSA ,   Redmond, Oregon   (11.10.06)
I am an American Jew and I voted Reublican because I hate the commie left wing democrapic party that exists today. I fear for the U.S. for the next rwo years with these lunatics in power. Lunatics who have no plan for anyhting except to unite in their hatred for Bush and the Reublican party. The Republicans lost these mid term elections all on their own but they are still a better choice than these spineless left wingers. I am actually a Reagan era conservative more than a "Republican" but this country will see that the left way is going to be the wrong way. And yes, the right made plenty of mistakes over the last 12 years and here we are and it is what it is!
9. #4 I am not blaming Iraq on Demos.
Richard ,   Open Range, USA   (11.10.06)
87% of all Amer Jews voted Demo. 99% of all Amer Mulsims voted Demo. Most Catholics vote Demo Pelosi's stratigy was to vote in block form against anything Bush wanted. All of these votes emboldened the enemy to fight harder and take more risks. Bin Laden's strategy was always dependant on the West fainting at the sight of it's own blood. My point is this: Why should rural, Protestant Christian Republicans allow their sons and daughters to enlist (re-enlist) if all the players in the ME are voting agaisnt them? Israel recieves more US foreign aid than any other nation. Israel's lobby has now voted against the very people taking the fight to the enemy! What reason do we have to continue to send our sons and daughters into battle? The answer is: NONE!
10. #5 You call yourself "Fairness"???
Richard ,   Open Range, USA   (11.10.06)
you said "your perfect little rural, WHITE Protestants." BIGOT!! I never said anything about "whites", you did. Protestant Christianity is embraced by all races, numbskull!! Emplying that I am a racist will not fly. I have sincere friendships with Iranian Jews who escaped from the Islamic Revolution. I have a very close Lebanese Christian friend who escaped from the PLO & Hezbullah, and right now I got the "hots" for a Syrian Muslim. So, don't even think of laying the racist label on me, ASSHOLE! Our US forces are manned by all races, and both sexes. What is significantly missing from our military ranks is LIBERAL DEMOCRATES!! So, if liberals vote against the war effort, why should the rest of us continue the fight? Please refer to my response to #4.
11. #8 PatriotUSA
Connie ,   VA, USA   (11.10.06)
Wow! Well who knows, maybe you could help other jewish americans see the truth, that the democrats are anti-israel. Maybe they already know that and vote that way because most evangelicals are republicans. But no matter who is in office, there's a showdown coming for the m.e., with Israel being in the center of it all. Again I hope that there are more jewish americans like you.
12. Jake: If You Didn't Vote You Can't Complain
emanon ,   USA   (11.10.06)
You don't like the choice of candidates, you can always do a write in. I wrote myself in to oppose a candidate running unopposed in my area. Sure I knoew it would not make a difference, bit *I DID NOT VOTE IN FAVOR* of the candidate. If you didn't vote, shut up. You lost your right to complain. You rolled over and accepted the choices other made for you. Now live with it. I have more respect for people who voted for candidates I did not suport than I have for you.
13. Richard you are full of s--t and you know it
#5 to Mr. Lily White ,   USA   (11.10.06)
Every bigot always defends his prejudice with statements like: "Some of my best friends are [fill in the blank.]" Do you honestly expect me to believe that your statement about "rural, PROTESTANT, Christian, REPUBLICAN soldiers" is supposed to be descriptive of blacks and hispanics too? (BTW, you don't include Catholics) You know very well what the implication was in your description of the soldiers, and the hallmark of a hypocrite is getting defensive and lashing out with foul language when he is caught in his own lie. Plenty of those non-white people that are over there fighting now also vote "Demo." Be an honest man and admit that your implication regarding your first post was descriptive of whites only, and please don't insult other people's inteliigence with your disingenuous defense of your obvious biases. The fact is, the Republicans FAILED in the election this time around because of the mishandling of the war in Iraq and repeated scandals and corruption. They deserved the "thumping" they got in the polls. Many of those states that voted for Bush have suddenly developed a liking for the color BLUE. The people have spoken: so, get over it!
14. Republitards are everywhere!
Gordon ,   Pittsburgh, USA   (11.10.06)
Richard, I would like to start by congratulating you on your intercontinental list of friends. You are obviously not a racist. But, now I will scold you for being a Republitard: a person so ensconsed in their political party's propaganda that they lose common sensibilities. Your party has been feeding you line after line of propaganda and you have gratefully swallowed every bite: you should be ashamed of yourself. Your first mistake, all Democrats are Liberal Democrats. The truth: most democrats hate being lumped in with those schizos in California who have been so vocal against Bush. These "liberal democrats" are a small minority of all democrats at best. Many of them just have access to inordinate amounts of publicity as public figures and pop culture icons. This combination, being vocal with some stupid ideas and having access to large amounts of publicity, makes them easy targets for Republican Pundits to decry as insane morons, which they are. But also makes it easy to say that these people are the voice of the Democratic party, which they are not. The remainder of your mistakes revolve around this first mistake. You bring up armed forces...our Armed Forces are full of Democrats. But you will never know it because they are standing behind you supporting the same goals as you. You will never know it because they care enough about the Truth to sacrifice their lives for freedom and justice, but they do not care about political affiliation enough to correct you when you assume they are republican. A reported 87% of Jewish-Americans voted Democrat because they have actually engaged in first ammendment exercises (commonly referred to as a discussion or dialogue) with "real democrats" and have found that they share many common goals. If you were to spend as much time engaged in dialogue with "real democrats" as you do being brain washed by your Republican Leaders, you might be pleasantly surprised. I've been told it is a big surprise by many of my Republican friends when they find out I'm actually a Democrat. I bet you could find some surprises like that for yourself. My recommendation is that you take some time to clear your party's propaganda from your head, unlearn everything you have been taught about Republicans and Democrats. When your mind is clear come back with a focus on working to resolve issues based on shared goals and not on shared political affiliations. You might be surprised to notice that "real democrats" look a lot like "moderate republicans". In fact, Arnold was decried as a Closet Democrat at one point in the recent past. I'm sure there was some great NeoCon reason for lashing out at the governator, but I think it works well to highlight my point about the similarities.
15. #13 Wrong again!
Richard ,   Open Range, USA   (11.10.06)
You are still the one injecting race into this, not me. This shows your bigotry, not mine. Rural America is made up of many races. Not all are white, some are Native American Indian (like me!) Protestant Christians are made up of all races the world over. Far more Republicans than Demos have volunteered for our military. That is a fact, look it up. You sure as hell don't see Ted Kennedy's family in there, do you? I will stand by my statement. I no longer have a dog in this fight!! Even the President of Iraq wants our soldiers to stay in their base camps and stay out of the major Iraqi cities. He claims that Iraq is now a soveriegn nation and can handle it's own affairs. I agree with him!
16. #15 Making up statistics
Gordon ,   Pittsburgh, USA   (11.11.06)
Richard, my little Republitard, you should stop making up statistics. I took your advice and did the research. I found no basis for your statement that "Far more Republicans than Demos have volunteered for our military." In fact, there has been no actual study of the relationship between political affiliation and enlistment rates. From where I sit, your facts are lies. Whoever gave you those "facts" lied to you. The closest I could come to finding statistics to back your claim was a side bar on the 2000 census of the Army which indicates Red states average higher recruiting rates than Blue states. Even this does not justify your claim because the Electoral trend of a state does not indicate the actual ratio of republicans to democrats and is further skewed by people like myself who will vote across party lines to make sure the best candidates get elected. Perhaps I am wrong and I just could not find the right source. If you would like to cite your source I will be more than happy to "look it up" as you have suggested. I am an open minded person, willing to stop and think and study and learn about something before I speak on it. I am mature enough to admit when I am wrong, but I am also smart enough not to be duped by the overzealous liberal media so don't think for an instant I can't smell a tall tale 2000 miles away. There is plenty of opportunity to research political affiliation in relation to volunteering for service, but in the mean time I suggest you either stop making up statistics to justify yourself, or start citing sources for your statistics so that those who are not sheeple can verify your claims for ourselves.
17. Gordon
Dennis ,   NJ   (11.11.06)
While it may be true that all Democrats are not liberal Democrats... would you not say that your party leadership is pretty much far left? Dean, Pelosi, Conyers... the list goes on.
18. Gordon is clueless
George ,   Atlanta, GA   (11.11.06)
It's disturbing to see the ignorance of American Jewry on display through all this wordy fluff - and you don't speak for me, of course. All your talk about your "good" congressmen don't change the fact that Pelosi will stuff all the Committees, including the Intelligence Committee, with closet Chomskytes, who will bleed classified information to the press and undermine every step of the way in this global war. You don't even understand that we are in a global war. Imagine fools as yourself telling Roosevelt to pull the troops out of Italy, because it is a distraction from the campaign in France. Shame on you, schmucks, for putting your fellow Jews in mortal danger and gloating about it in a disgusting display of cosmic idiocy.
19. message to MR.Bush
Jack ,   Canada   (11.11.06)
American people gave a great message to mr. Bush and his administration , Its democracy, time to change.
20. Gordon, 2nd try
Richard ,   Open Range, USA   (11.11.06)
Appartently, Y-net did not like my talkback to you. Let's see if this will fly. 87% Amer. Jews voted Demo... Y-net. If you have a problem with that, take it up with them, not me. 99% Amer. Muslims voted Demo... come on! Do you really need me to cite a source on this? As for the rest of it... I'm not really interested in using my time to go back and look up specific references. Why? This will only give you another opportunity to snipe what I write, which you will do no matter what I say. Sorry, Gordon, I'll not jump thru your hoops to play your silly game. "Republitard"?? Come on, Gordon! If you are so smart, surely you can do better than that.
21. Richard the Red-State Red-Neck
(11.13.06)
Gordon is right. You do not provide real facts, therefore, your comments are not credible. You couldn't jump through hoops anyway (at least verbal ones) and that's why you needed to back off Gordon's challenge. You are just full of silly opinions that mean absolutely nothing in terms of having a meaningful debate, so I suggest you do your research or shove off, mate.
22. George from Atlanta: all assumptions, no facts
Dems. against false ,   prophets, USA   (11.14.06)
Talk about "cosmic idiocy!" Are you Nostrodamus that you can predict the future decisions of the Democratic Party? Spare me. Typical over-zealous paranoid Republican way of thinking. As if the Republican policies in the Middle East have brought anyhing but shame and hatred upon us! The majority of Americans have now made it clear that it is time for a change. It'll take a long time to undo the damage caused by putting blind faith in the Republicans to get things done right on Capitol Hill. Either you pull another Ronald Reagan out of your hat tomorrow or you can just step aside and give another party the benefit of the doubt.
23. #21 Mate?? You're no mate of mine!
Richard ,   Open Range, USA   (11.14.06)
Time and space will not allow for much of the data you want me to provide. And why? You will only snipe it, so why waste the time? I did go back and look up some old stuff just for fun. Here is one tidbit: A study done by the Population Reference Bureau, published in their "Population Bulletin", vol. 59, no. 4, Dec. 2004. On page 25, at Table 5, titled "Religious Preferences of the U.S. Population and Military Personnel, 2001" states the following for the US military: Protestant & Evangelical combined.. 46% Catholic & Orthodox combined.. 22% Jews, all demominations.. LESS THAN 0.5%!! Now, this study said that Jews make up 2% of the US population, yet LESS THAN 0.5% OF JEWS ARE IN THE MILITARY!! According to Y-net, 87% of all US jews voted Demo. This supports my statement that Demos are grossly under-represented in the Military!! What's the deal, huh? Why aren't you guys pulling your fair share of the load?? Stick that in your crooked pipe and smoke it, "mate"!
24. To #22,
George ,   Atlanta, GA   (11.14.06)
Your pompous ID matches perfectly your pathetic post. Benefit of a doubt? Thanks, but, no, thanks. That's Democrats' cup of tea. Arafat got way too many benefits of a doubt from Clinton and his glorious cabinet members led by Stuff-My-Pants-With-Classified-Information Sandy Berger. Someone on Y-net suggested that Clinton had an unmatched capacity to look at things from all possible angles. I concur with one caveat. There were only 2 things that this applies to: Monica's private parts and Arafat's a*hole.
25. Give 'em hell, George!!
