1. Now everyone can eat their dreck..Way to go
Al ,   Canada   (11.09.06)
Isreal you have joined the civilized world of dreck eating, high blood presure and cholestorol. A nation just like the other nations. Ben Gurion had a dream. "Yesh Li Chalom"
2. Apologetic about going kosher
Lee ,   New York   (11.10.06)
It's sad to see that the local managers of McDonald's sound apologetic about making their branches kosher. There are worse things in the world than keeping mitzvot that are thousands of years old, and were characteristic of Jews worldwide until the very recent past.
3. Shitty food (Should we call that food?)
Meir ,   Arad   (11.10.06)
Well, maybe it is food but certainly not for human consumption. DO NOT touch MacDonalds shit before you see the movie "Super Size Me ". You have been warned. For the sake of your health, DO NOT eat that shit.
4. I Still Will Never Eat There: Omri Padan Is Dreck
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (11.10.06)
A founding member of "Peace Now" who had said that he would never even put a restaurant in the Golan, an anti-religious extremist who forces Jewish employees to work on Shabbat- even willing to incur large fines to do so. He should choke in a cheeseburger. On Shabbat.
5. No self respecting Jew should eat there
Y ,   Israel   (11.10.06)
I never eat at McDonalds because the Israel franchise avoids being Kosher whenever possible - obviously for ideological reasons. (Why would a restuarant want to exclude over 30% of potential customers?). When in the mood for "junk" food I choose Burger Ranch - all branches are under Rabbinic supervision and there is no "separate dairy section" to worry about.
6. Mmmm, I love McDonalds :-)
Esteban ,   Buenos Aires Argenti   (11.10.06)

Marty ,   USA   (11.10.06)
As an American who lives in the US I had to eat a McDonalds burger when in Israel. I am kosher and therefore can not have McDonalds here. I have to say that the burger I had at McDonalds at the Ben Gurion Airport was the best McDonalds hamburger I ever had. It was also the first and last.
8. Fast food is evil
Paul ,   Austin, USA   (11.10.06)
Not only is it bad for you, it's bad for the local agricultural economy. There are plenty of kosher and nonkosher local eateries to satisfy any taste.
9. What's Kosher? can NE1 tell me

ACORDING TO BIBLICAL CITATIONS AND USUALLY EXTENDEDLY INTERPRETED BY TRADITIONAL RABINICAL JUDAISM. BASICALLY ONE SHOULD NOT EAT PORK AS WELL AS OTHER MAMALS THAT ARE NOT RUMINANTS, FROM THE SEA NOTHING ELSE THAN FISHES WITH SCALES AND FINS, AND FOR "IT'S WRITTEN" NOT TO COOK A BABY-COW IN HER MOTHER'S MILK EXTENDEDLY KOSHER DIET DO´'T MIX MEAT OR CHIKEN WITH MILK OR DAIRY. BESIDES , MEAT SHOULD BE FREE OF BLOOD, AND ETC,ETC AND ETC. BASICALLY MODERN NON ORTHODOX JEWS OPPOSE SPECIALLY TO THE EXTENDED INTERPRETATION AS THE ONES I DESCRIBED BUT ON THE OTHER HAND WE ARE NOT TOO FOND OF PORK EVEN IF WE ARE NOT KOSHER. THERE IS WISDOM IN KOSHER EATING, FOR INSTANCE EATING MEAT ONLY FROM VEGETARIAN ANIMALS ("CRAZY COW DISEASE" SPREADED FROM CATTLE BEEING FEED FROM OTHER ANIMALS MEAT AND KOSHER MEAT WAS FEREE FROM IT), ONLY FROM ANIMALS KILLED PAINLESSLY. KOSHER DIET IS GOT A LOW SATURATE FATS RATE, AND IT'S BEEN CONCEIVED THOUSANDS YEARS AGO. THINK MOSLEMS HAVE VERY SIMILAR PRECRIPTIONS WHICH THEY CALL "HALAL" THAT I CANNOT TRANSLATE TO ENGLISH.

13. HAMburgers kosher?
jay ,   Israel   (11.11.06)
Dont eat Mcdonalds on Pesach..........the buns are disgusting!! Also, isnt it ironic that HAMburgers could be kosher (the name certainly doesnt imply this).....Maybe they should change the name to beefbergs....that sounds more jewish!

Wow Marty. I'm absolutely bowled over by your integrity. So you had to eat unkosher MacDonalds in the US but here you eat only kosher. Wow can I kiss your feet. You know no one was holding a gun to your head forcing you to eat unkosher in the states and here no one is gives a flying f**K whether you keep kosher or not. However I for one like the idea think that we should be free to chose. To those who want to keep kosher kol ha kavod. But don't stop me from eating my cheeseburgers or my BLT's
15. i remember
jk ,   nyc   (11.11.06)
i remember 20 years ago when i was in jerusalem there was a mcdavids .. ate tehre a efw times it was near the midrachov right across from the big magazine/newstand i forgot the name already
16. McDonald's must get better in |Israel
mordechai ,   jerusalem, Israel   (11.11.06)
Omri padan is a well known anti-jewish activist. I however ,wouldn't let this interfere with my eating a good kosher hamburger. What I don't understand is this. McDonald's is popular throughout the world, so they must be serving good hamburgers . Why is their product so poor here in Israel. Everyone knows that Burger Ranch & Burger King have far superior hamburgers.
17. #14: Arielush, You are a moron
Morris ,   Binghamton, NY, USA   (11.11.06)
Don't you know how to read? If you did, you would have understood that Marty wrote how he ate McDonald's for the FIRST AND LAST TIME in Israel because it is kosher there and not in the US. He did not eat McDonald's in the US because it is not kosher there. Please pay more attention before writing insulting comments and making a fool of yourself.
18. to # 14
marty ,   usa   (11.11.06)
You misread my post or I was unclear. The kosher McDonalds burger was the ONLY McDonalds that I ever had, therefore it was the best. A poor attempt at a joke, maybe it missed sort of like John Kerry
19. Eatomg at Birger Ramcj
Jack Kern   (11.11.06)
As far as I know there are Birger Ranches that are open on Shabbat. But all branches serve only kosher food and none of them cook mik and meat. I believe the same is true of Burger King. Maybe their food isn't so healthy but they don't go out of their way to serve 'treif'. If only McDonalds could find a way to get rid of that low-life Omri Padan.
