1. The IDF Rabbi - Jewish Neo Nazism?
David ,   Karmiel   (11.13.06)
The IDF Rabbi should be reminded that the Nazis used similar rhetoric about the Jews. Would he and his Christian and Moslem Cleric allies in hatred like Gays to wear a multi colored Magen David on their arms? What a disgrace! This from a Rabbi representing a religion that calls for tolerance proved that religion is the worst evil of all.
2. At least gays serve their country
(11.13.06)
that's a whole lot more than those dirt bags do.
3. Gay people are not beasts. They
Ely Greenhut ,   Jerusalem Israel   (11.13.06)
may have a phsyical imbalance than causes them to be the way they are. Instead the Rabbi should advice that they need to seek medical attention for their physical problems if a gay or lesbian person wanst to get healed. Rabbi, Very Not nice of you to compare human beings to beasts.
4. Rabbi Has Psychological Problem
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (11.13.06)
He should seek counseling & perhaps take a few sex education courses. Maybe he has an attraction he is trying to repress. If he thinks there's a "cure", it might be wishful thinking for his own case.
5. Similar comments in USA
Aaron DeVore ,   Portland, OR, USA   (11.13.06)
A few years ago, a prominent US Senator, Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania, was widely criticized for similar remarks made in an interview. Gay rights advocates were so enraged that they are attempting to attach his name to a previously unnamed and extremely unpleasant substance. Now the web site promoting the use of the word santorum scores higher on a Google search than Rick Santorum's own website. It seems that remarks of this nature are quickly going out of style.
6. A Rabbi Slamming Shameful Acts Is A Disgrace
H ,   Jerusalem   (11.13.06)
while those disgracing humanity are applauded. The liberal-left have lost all sense of morality. What a corrupt society.

9. Kol hacavod to the rabbi
gabriela ben ari ,   jerusalem   (11.13.06)
A pity that speaking Torah has become a matter to apologize about in this "jewish state". I wonder if Iran will succed of wiping us from the map after ynet and major media/politicians have become a source of contemp to the Almighty To YNET: start hating another religion please, there's far enough antisemitism in this world
10. Gabriela
charles ,   petach tikva   (11.13.06)
Hello , again here with your comments ? You probably know that in the IDF there is no distinction made regarding sexual preferences . This lower ranking rabbi was not allowed to use IDF ways to give his opinion . Had he done this with his private internet connection , there would not be any problem regarding IDF . He , as every citizen in this country , may have his opinnion regarding gays , I fully disagree with him . There are other anti gay tbs , but on one of them i will not answer . For me he do not exist any more .
11. This rabbi needs to be...
Adam Adamati ,   Israel   (11.13.06)
OUT of the Army and OUT of a Job. He has broken rules and like anyone else in the Army needs to be disciplined. He has used the IDF email system to spread hate and lies. Those are the facts.
12. Taxes paid by homosexuals vs. desire for disassociation
A real Jew ,   Israel   (11.13.06)
Simple solution - don't let an agorah go to parasitic scum like this boil on the tush of the IDF.
13. Gaynet
Gaynet ,   Gay Land   (11.13.06)
How many fucking stories about freaking gays. Gaynet we've had enough. I you run out gay stories, I can arrange for a good gay friend of mine and his boyfriend to be interviewed for another great gay story by gaynet. Ask you editor if he is interested and let me know
14. Animal Right Group Must Protest Against The IDF Rabbis
Eli ,   Israel   (11.13.06)
These poor beasts who are doing just what they are created for and don't turn off, do not have the power to protest the Rabbi's comparison. The Animal Right Group must protest on their behalf.
15. such insane hate against gays by the idf rabbi
debra ,   usa   (11.13.06)
diminishes judaism, israel and the rabbinate.
16. I also agree with #6.
Avraham ,   Netivot   (11.13.06)
17. What a terrible thing to say
enzo ,   london,uk   (11.13.06)
They are people like you and me. With their qualities and their faults. Like yours and mine. To compare gays to beasts is outrageous, offensive, wrong. They are our brothers!
18. TERRY PERVERT
educator   (11.13.06)
I've noticed quite a few of your talkbacks involve you focusing on 'sex education'-seems like that's the only education you ever received....and even that you got wong!!
19. If Such Immorality Is Officially Accepted asPart of Training
H ,   Jerusalem   (11.13.06)
in the IDF, can you blame the Orthodox (Haredi) Rabbis for preventing their students from joining the army?
20. Religious zealots have always been a danger to Judaism
Hiram ,   Stornoway   (11.13.06)
Just like Extremists Moslem scholars and clerics, some of the Rabbis believe that they are on a mission from God. This is one thing we have in common with the Islamists : intolerance ! As long as this country will mix up religion in everthing and will alow rabbis to propagate messages of hatred and intolerance, we will end up being stigmatized by some. This comment, and the rest of the comments about the gay community in the last few weeks show that in fact this type of rabbis has no place in our community as a messenger of God's love for everyone. ( for those who believe that is ) Israel is paying the price for allowing uncontrolled religious population to deliver speeches of hatred in general against those who do not think or do like " them " .
21. I don't see the problem here
Alexander ,   Israel   (11.13.06)
Let every person do what he/she wants to do as long as his/her actions do not infringe upon the freedom and rights of other people. Yes, indeed, I must agree on the fact that I believe homosexuality is unnatural, but I do not believe it's evil. I think the solution is very simple: let gays be gays and let rabbis be rabbis. Why should we spend so much time and energy to change people when the personality is indeed hereditary? Speaking about the ortodox. There is an increasing tendency among them to imbibe and absorb more moderate views and more and more of them are starting to get more involved in the society. The high tech sector has become increasingly popular among the religious and more and more of them tend to work and study worldly subjects such as engineering, medicine, law and business. I agree that there still are a lot of ortodox that do not work and do not contribute to Israel - which is unacceptable - but the situation is getting better. There is now a fight, an argument, a conflict, between religious fanatics and moderate religious groups. I think that a couple of months ago, there was an argument( in Jerusalem) between moderate Jews trying to access the Internet on Internet cafés and religious fanatics trying to stop them. Please, my fellow countrymen, do not argue. Now more than ever, we need to stand united to survive as a nation. And even if all threats against Israel would end today there is still no reason for us to argue. Doesn't it say in the Tanakh the our brothers and sisters should dwell in unity?
22. #14 you have the wrong end of the stick
Laura ,   London, UK   (11.13.06)
to compare homosexuality to bestiality equates it with fornicating with animals - not to be fornicating in the manner of animals. I think the solution is simpler - let the gays shut up and get on with it as heterosexuals do. Gay pride is ludicrous because it identifies people solely on the basis of their sexual preference. Displaying 'separateness' in whatever minority identity only leads to factionalism - "Somewhere, over the rainbow", we can all get along together without division...
23. #15 What is Judaism? What is Israel? What is the Rabbinate?
H ,   Jerusalem   (11.13.06)
Judaism is the religion and laws of the Jewish people. There are 365 laws that all Jews must keep. Israel is the G-d given holy country for the Jews and we must be careful to safeguard its holiness and sanctity. The Rabbinate are educated Torah scholars and the spiritual Leaders and the ones who Guide the Jews to follow the right path.
24. Danger to what?
Hardi J. Niclasen ,   Kolding, Denmark   (11.13.06)
If some people's understanding of Judaism is diverting from Tanach and from the messages of the prophets of old, then radical voices like the ones of the prophets, are understandably regarded as a threath to apostacy. Love, not based on divine truth, is no love at all, but an expression of false tolerance, build upon apostasy and consequently spiritual and moral indifference. Like it or not: there are messengers sent by G-d, and there are messengers sent by Satan!
25. The Bible can help!
Jeff H. ,   North Carolina, USA   (11.13.06)
If you want to know how God feels about this behavior see what he does to the city of Sodom that is infested with such sin. Also two passages in Leviticus call homosexuality an abomination. Leviticus 18:22 says, "Do not lie with a man as one lies with a women; that is detestable." Leviticus 20:13 says, "If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable." The word for "abomination" is used five times in Leviticus 18 and is a strong term of disapproval, implying that something is abhorrent to God. If this isn't biblical enough read these verses in the New Testament: Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9, and 1 Timothy 1:10. If you ask me Romans 1:26-27 says it all: Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. If you are a homosexual these passages are here to guide not hurt. Please seek the truth for it will set you free.
26. #20 So You're Suggesting, We Should Ban All Orthodox Rabbis
H ,   Jerusalem   (11.13.06)
as they all "are on a mission from G-d" And according to you: These Rabbis have no right in "mixing up religion in everything" happening in this Jewish state "this type of rabbis has no place in our community". Just curious: Are you part of the Jewish community? Do you know what Rabbis are (No, I don't mean reform)? It would be a good idea for you to meet an Orthodox Rabbi and discuss with him what his profession is all about.
27. man and beast
Joseph Katz ,   Jerusalem Israel   (11.13.06)
Most beast have heterosexual relations not same sex relations. Like most of you and me. Is that abominable. How silly can some people be...
28. no name #2
jman ,   jlm   (11.13.06)
why do you hide your name? maybe your trying to pick a fight but afraid of getting it in your face? FYI- percentage wise, there are alot more of your "dirt bags" serving in the army, including to your shock, in combat and sf units, than your manly friends!
29. play the game...
jman ,   il   (11.13.06)
if you can call haredim leeches and parisites so what's wrong with calling gays beasts?
30. correction #23
jman ,   il   (11.13.06)
613 laws not 365. 365 stand for the negitive laws.
