As an architect by trade, my Grandfather was forced to work there in 1942 by the Nazis, until 1945, when he was released and sought refuge in his home town on what became the Russian sector of Berlin. My grandmother was separated from him during those three years, and only saw him once or twice. He was thin and extremely stressed out. No one dare say a word against the Nazis, and their visits together were only for a few days. Then he was forced to report back to his office where he designed the killing machines for the Nazis. I have been searching for the identity of this woman. My great grandmother was a Kertesz. The description of the woman in your article of Lili Kertesz fits the person I have been looking for.
