Islam is a political & religious ideology. Western civilization and Islam are incompatible with one another. Glossing over it won't change that fact. Why am I not surprised at the findings that the cultural rift between Islam and Christianity (the west) if entirely Israel fault. Sure, lets listen to the recommendations of a panel consisting of a former Iranian President and Archibishop Tutu (who has said some pretty outrageous things about Zionism, Israel, etc). And that's why it was so successful about a millenia ago, when Europe was still a backwater. When they started seeing everything "as a symbol", they stopped thinking. The Palestinian's conflict with Israel is a symbol of the battle against colonialism. Al Aqsa is a symbol of Muslim empowerment. Arafat's a symbol. Jenin is a symbol. Beit Hanoun is a symbol. At some point, the entire mental landscape becomes filled with so many symbols, that THEY CAN'T PERCEIVE REALITY ANYMORE!!!! And while that may have become our problem, because these symbolists are in our midst, just why is it that the UN expects the entire world to respect and play along with that mental landscape? What makes their symbols more valuable than the symbol of America's wealth, the World Trade Center? Or, why is it that the symbol of liberty in America, the Statue of Liberty, has been closed off to visitors since 9/11? It's because we are allowing the Muslim fundamentalists to dictate their symbolic landscape to us. And the UN, as usual, is cooperating. It's time to take notice and stop it.

The article at no point blames Israel for anything - only states the conflict between Israel & Palestine (also Iraq & Afghananistan) as causing tensions. Your 'woe is me' attitude is boring!

The Islamists try to rule the world, Eurabia bends. US is farther away and a later target for conquest. Israel is close and can never be defeated. This is their thorn. Look at most areas of conflict in the world. They involve Muslims. IT isnt because they make up 1/5th of the world population, but because Islam is inflexible and intolerant in many of its applications. Arabs kill BLack in Africa. Muslims and Hindus dont get along. Muslims and Christian war in many places. Heck, the Muslims even kill each other. Sunnis and Shia's have been fighting for centuries.
