1. The time to act is now or never
Media Critic ,   USA   (11.22.06)
The Lebanese government is at the verge of collapse, when that happens all hell will brake loose, the losers will be the Lebanese pro western democracy, the winners will be pro Iran, and Syrian terrorists. It is time for US to intervene immediately before they too will become the biggest losers in this conflict, which includes Iraq. What is going on part of the greater Iranian plot to gain control of the Fertile Crescent part of the Middle East. If the pro Iran terrorists win, then Iran would have succeeded in gaining control of the area between the Mediterranean, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Iran. Nothing could stop them after that. At that point Israel can kiss its ass goodbye.
2. I think these "experts" are "expertly" wrong.
Darren ,   Tampa, FL USA   (11.22.06)
You don't impeach a President in the middle of hostilities. That is just plain foolish and dumb. One may after the fact, but not during. Oh wait we got the looney left now in Congress....nevermind.
3. George Bush supports Iran
Mark ,   USA   (11.22.06)
George Bush is working with Iran to seize all the oil in the MIdeast. That is why Chavez hates Bush! Halliburton is building an Iraq-Iran-Syria pipeline. Bush loves Iran.
4. #1 Bush has empowered Iran
Mark ,   USA   (11.22.06)
Iran is a major Mideast power. He is playing all sides and using Israel to do his dirty work. He invaded Iraq to make Iran happy. It is a hedge against Saudi Arabia. He wants to get the best deal.
5. Bush needs Israel.
Mark ,   USA   (11.22.06)
Bush needs the Arab/Israeli conflict to continue so he can control the Mideast oil reserves.
6. Bush uses Israel as a scapegoat.
Mark ,   USA   (11.22.06)
He is inciting Iran.
7. Reality of Impeachment
emanon ,   USA   (11.22.06)
Face it, Bush is on the downside of his term. Even if impeachment proceedings were started today, he could stall the actual impeachment process until he left office. Either way, America wins. Bush will leave Iran for his successor to deal with, whichever party wins. Kind of a going away booby prize. It is going to take a *LONG* time to clean up the mess he's leaving behind.
8. PLEASE USE RESTRAINED..DO NOT WIN...USE RESTRAINT..
REDICULOUS.... ,   ..............DACON9   (11.22.06)
9. i can't see the detailed analysis

of Lebanon war!
10. It All about Oil and world domination
Media Critic ,   USA   (11.23.06)
According to BP.com data, the Middle East and Islamic countries holds 70% of the world Oil Reserves, whoever controls this oil supply controls world economies for years to come. US, Canada and Mexico combined oil reserves is about 5%, Western European countries combines reserves is about 16%
11. Help!
enzo ,   london,uk   (11.23.06)
So Bush can't attack Iran. Can't do anything against Syria and Hizbullah in Lebanon. Obviously he can't do much against Hamas. He has lost the bloody war in Iraq! Egypt wants to become "nuclear" too...! I'm hyperventilating... I better go and take a valium!
12. Romm the "expert"
sk ,   USA   (11.23.06)
The "expert" Romm sez: "I don't think the average American is convinced that his country is in danger (from Iran), and isn't moved by dangers in the Middle East." But, survey data absolutely refute this claim. See, e.g., http://www.taemag.com/docLib/20060609_OP.pdf (Please skip to the second part of the report; the first is not about Iran.) The interesting thing is how Romm could be working in any high-level position (except head waiter).
13.  Bush would actually benefit from attacking Iran
patriot ,   chicago,US   (11.23.06)
Bush lost his Republican base because he is timid concerning Iraq. Conservatives don't like it when America does not act decisively, they prefer a "Patton" approach. There is no excuse for the Iraq matter to have gone on for such a long time with no end in site. Bush should have focused on a limited objective: Kill Saddam and his sons and all his cronies and then leave Iraq under the control of whoever comes out on top. An attack to destroy the nuclear infrastructure in Iran would be quick and limited. Let Iran be controlled by whomever, just no nukes. Quick and easy with no long term commitment to establishing "democracy". Conservatives would support that tactic and support that kind of boldness!
14. If Jewish lobby wants attack on Iran, Bush/Blair will do it
WA ,   usa   (11.23.06)
no matter what the impact on US lives & interets. He did it in Iraq, he will do it again with Iran, with on difference: American will not buy the crap that Iran is a threat to freedom, way of life,... In due time, Americans will come to understand the real reason for invading Iraq and might attack Iran.
15. Stupid "expert" Romm doesn't even understand impeachment.
sk ,   USA   (11.23.06)
"Quoting a senior American official, Romm told the forum, "If Bush does something physical to Iran, he will be impeached."" Romm is so stupid that he seems to think that impeachment means removal from office. The president must be convicted by A TWO-THIRDS MAJORITY in the Senate after impeachment in the House. Even Clinton easily avoided a conviction, even though he very clearly perjured himself, and despite the white-hot fury that he inspired in a large percentage of Republicans. Only two presidents have ever been impeached; both were acquitted. Nixon resigned before a certain impeachment and a possible conviction. Nixon did thing like authorize break-ins and then obstruct justice. Romm should never be trusted to do anything more than make pizzas -- under rabinnical supervision.
16. Romm the ignorant
Boycott   (11.23.06)
""If we know Hizbullah is planning to kidnap our soldiers, we should set out, publicly, on the front page, 20 targets in Lebanon, and say 10 of them will be destroyed, no matter who is there, if the kidnapping takes place." That would mean Israel announcing in advance that they were going to punish people in Lebanon for something they had not done - collective punishment, a war crime. Do you people have no sense, no civilised values, no humanity, no shame?
17. 10 Media Critic
Ryan ,   Calgary, Canada   (11.23.06)
Some ME countries are western friendly regarding Oil. (saudi, kuwait) A vast majority of Canada's oil supply is untapped, US still has Alaskan supplies (watch out for the environmentalists though) New deep sea drilling technology is proving cost effectively drill and extract oil from deep sea locations (Chevron, gulf of mexico) Russia has a large supply. Canada also has tar sands that is just getting underway. Our arctic has extreme amounts of oil and minerals. Hydrogen will run cars and military vehicles, larger machines can run on nuclear energy. We are still a long way from it, but nations are becoming less dependent on oil. These conflicts and conspiracies has more to do with plain domination, internationalism, globalization, one government, a new world order. As spoken by your president, Blair, and the Pope, and as stated on your dollar bill, as well as planned by Albert Pike.

Give us back MacArthur!!!!!
19. Who will dominate the Middle East?
Media Critic ,   USA   (11.23.06)
Iran understood the world domination game US and England have been playing for decades, Iran draw US into Iraq using its lying proxy pro Iranian Iraqi spies that helped convince US to destroy the Iraqi regime which was in fact holding Iraq together and was a stumbling block for Iran’s grand plan, domination of the Middle East.

zov ,   Rosenberg, TX   (11.23.06)
And what was the burning of 150 000of Nagasaki citizens, and 110 000 citizens of Hiroshima citizens in the summer of 1945? You are so brainless and fradulent that want to make others believe you did not know that war is a collective punisment of the foe's country and not a court hearing. Do you have any honesty or shame in you left, crook?.
26. "Boycott" (16) the anti-Semite
sk ,   USA   (11.23.06)
Actually, Boycott, "collective punishment" doesn't apply if these are military targets, and "military" includes an awful lot given the details of how Hezbollah "protects" its forces by intermixing them with alleged civilians (which is itself a war crime you freak). However, given that the bad guys have managed to use international law to their advantage, it may be time to abolish any prohibition on collective punishment. Law need to change in light of new circumstances.
