Israel tried to follow the US notion of trying to preserve the Siniora government. This is folly. The Lebanese are not at peace with Israel and it is always best when the enemy is in chaos. While in chaos it is difficult to focus externally. Israel must consider the concept of bringing instability to the mid east. The notion of maintaining one's enemy's peace because one fears change is foolish. Change is exactly what Israel needs. Mr. Romm simply does not understand the US impeachment process. Bush will never be impeached because the Democrats lack the votes in the US Senate to convict. It takes 67 Senators to do this and the Dems only have 51. Republican Senators will back Bush if he decides to attack Iran. Nor will the "people" be in the streets in 6 months.
