He speaks for himself and the self interests he is trying to promote. Whether it might be investing in Syria or running for some kind of public office. As I stated before, his views about pressing Israel to negotiate with the Anti Semitic Syrian regime are simply his own, they do not in any way reflect the will of the Syrian Jewish community.

When it comes to talks with the Syrians, timeing is everything, rather than not at all. Yes , there is much mistrust between Syria and Israel, but, Syria can be dispensed with when no longer useful to Iran, even though Syria is dependent on Iran. Asaad has been making overtures to Israel for a while now as he may sense a possible relationship change with Iran. If Israel can draw Syria away from Iran it will weaken and shorten Irans reach in the Mid-East for the time being.

Basically he speaks for himself and his payroll, but nice job picking up the story and giving it legitimate legs. oh well.
