This guy isn't like the Herzliya taxi driver murderers, he isn't from a family with money. What did his friends and family do, have a fundraising drive to collect the bribe money? I don't think it is as bad as it was when Susan Brownmiller wrote _Against our Will_ in the 1970s and showed how sympathetic police could be towards rapists, but I have no doubt that some cops still are. Somebody wanted him out badly enough to arrange an expensive and complicated escape. I still think it's a question of who and why.

I would say that Sela's assistance in getting free came from our Prez, who wanted to distract attention from the case against him. Now, I'm not that into conspiracy theories, but really, how does a sociopath, not from the richest of families (like the Herzlyia murderer) manage an escape like that, fake documents and all?
