So, you ask me for evidence of my claims that the Islamic community has not contributed to the development of any useful innovation that we currently enjoy. Well, why did you do that? How about this, why don't you try and point to even one single innovation yourself! Believe me, you would find it much more difficult to do so, than I would in listing the fact that the internet, the development of robotics, the internal combustion engine, the development of cures for various diseases, container shipping, air conditioning, trucking, education, building construction, reduction of air pollution, the development of solar and other forms of alternative power, safe mining techniques and another 100,000,000 such innovations have all come out of the non Islamic community, especially the West. How about this, where did Yahoo, Google Cisco Systems, Adobe, You Tube, Microsoft, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Toyota, Honda, Mitsubishi, Yamaha, Mannesmahn, Vodaphone, Airbus, Hyundai, Disney, Ferrari, BMW, Volkswagen Mercedes Benz, Pfizer, SamSung, Hutchison Whampoa, AT&T, BBC, etc develop? Which of those companies developed in a Muslim country? Again, name just one useful world wide, world-class innovation to have been produced by a Muslim country!
Man, like I said, you do sound very well educated and please understand, I do support your effort to tell us that Islam is not all what most of the current portrayers appear to make it. Yes, I do understand all of that, but you do need to be honest, and be less accusatory of the genuine critics of your religion. It does constitute a very serious threat to al of us. Here in America, especially, since 9/11, there are widespread fears of Muslims, and Islam. I for one, really to believe that Islam is way too concerned with use violence as a means to impose its will on others. What with the utterances of the Iranian president vis- a Vis Israel, as well as the past conduct of Hezbollah, and other such groups.
One more thing, female genital mutilation is ONLY one of the many backward practices of Islam, so you do have your cut out for you in trying to reverse the correct perception of the rest of us about the body of ideas of this religion.
Ah, but there is more yet, you assert that climatological reasons might possibly have caused some people to have developed this most abhorrent practice. But, alas how come the very same practice did not develop among non-Muslim peoples with similar concerns of as you put it 'hyper sexuality'.
Again, I am happy that you are speaking out, but as you can see by the unusually high number of negative reactions to your initial posting, you are pretty much isolated and indeed wrong ion this one!
