1. Contradictory feelings
Shalom Freedman ,   Jerusalem Israel   (11.28.06)
I must admit that I am relieved by the cease- fire. I want there to be an end of rockets on Sderot. I want the people to have some quiet. I also want there to be an end to violence over all. On the other hand I know the illusion of this. The other side will simply be using the time and breathing space to prepare for worst violence. We have been here so many times before. I do not know the answer. I would hate to have us have to take Gaza again. Do we really want to be the administrators there again? I would I suppose prefer a long- time no- violence agreement which did not call itself 'peace' but was in fact quiet on the ground.
2. I just wish I could see Olmert with his mouth closed.

3. Here's the answer you're looking for Shalom
Daniel ,   Formerly Israel   (11.28.06)
What you want is exactly what all other normal Israelis want, they want to have peace without all the mess and trouble of occupying Gaza (and as we've learned occupation does not guaranee security anyway). The way to get it is to annex the strip and expell the Palestinians: That way we don't have to occupy and administer it, the Palestinians don't have to suffer occupation, and the terrorists couldn't attack us even if they wanted to. Believe me, I know what's at stake. Annexing Gaza woul require a massive military operation, and we'll take a lot of heat from the international community, and of course the throuht of expelling 3.5 million people from their homes is painful. But isn't it wrth it to have a real peace, a peace established by strength and not dependent on the whim of a bunch of masked madmen with guns who want nothing more than to kil us. We have been fighting one non-stop war since 1967, and It's time to win it. And as far as what the international community will say, remember the words of Ben-Gurion: "It isn't important what the goy will say, what's important is what the Jew will do.

p HENRY ,   longmont U S A   (11.29.06)
DETERMINE TO SURRENDER ISRAEL TO IT'S ENEMIES.BUT IT MAKES HIM "FEEL GOOD"PERFIDIOUS ISRAELI QUISLING,THERE IS A GLOBAL JIHAD BEING WAGED AGAINST ISRAEL & U.S. BY ISLAMIC BIGOTS.AND OLMERT-BUSH-BLAIR-BAKER'S ANSWER IS (COWARDLY RESTRAINT) AND EFFETE DIPLOMACY OF NATIONAL SURRENDER!
7. Peace with the Palestininas may be impossible...but Olmert
Andy ,   ramat hasharon   (11.29.06)
has to try. His olive branch is a crucial step. If it does nto work - then reoccupying Gaza may be the only alternative.
8. Why do you think it mght work Andy?
Daniel ,   Formerly Israel   (11.29.06)
We've held out at least ten such Olive Branches out to the Palestinians since 1967, and Sharon shoved the Olive Branch down their throats in the disengagement, and after all that they're still trying to destroy us. What makes you think that this one will work or that when it doesn't the govrnment won't simply hold out anotherone?
