1. Here's an idea
David ,   Haifa   (11.30.06)
Maybe this would be a good investment for Arkadi Gaydamak, instead of letting people fight over places on the buses to Eilat.
2. 4x15.000.000 USD=60 milion dollars
Andras Bereny ,   Kfar Tapuah, Shomron   (11.30.06)
The 60.000.000 (sixty milion) USD + operating costs of this system should be deducted from the tax revenues Israel transfers to the Arabs.
3. naive faith in technology?
tom ,   toronto, canada   (11.30.06)
60 million dollars would buy a lot of concrete shelters. shelters are sure to work, and can be built immediately. fancy technology for sderot will only help to ease the political pressure on the government, but won't help to protect ashkelon or the kibbutzim along the border - how many more "units" would that require? the best way to stop a qassam is to destroy it before it's launched.
4. I hope it's true........Israel needs a lot of these systems
Roni   (11.30.06)
5. BRING THEM ON!!!!!
Israel   (11.30.06)
Car tax is going up 1,000 shekels, plus that should pay for it!
6. No cure
David ,   Judea   (11.30.06)
to the problem. We can build walls and whatever other gadgets we can we invent,it is not going to stop these with hatred spoonfed islam facists. When one has high blood pressure, change of diet is needed to correct the problem. So these are all temporary measurers to relieve the pain. The israelis still do not understand which neighbourhood they live in. They try desperatly with a western mindset to resolve this situation and let everybody in the world tell them what to do.Everyone thinks that if you solve the arab problem here, that will be the end off all terrorism. 60 years ago the world stood by and did nothing, because in the end we are the problem in the eyes of the world. So many off our brothers (and sisters) will adopt to the way off the world thinking that this will help them being excepted. The sad thing is that history shows us over and over again that this only increases the hatred towards us. Hopefully ynet will not stop this talkback like it did on nummerous occassions before.
7. Supid Idea
Shimon ,   Tel Aviv   (11.30.06)
This is a stupid idea that will only make life in Sderot worse. The problem is not that the Kassams hit, rather that people can't live in a war zone. Who will live in Sderot when day and night four high-tech cannons shoot a thousand shells a minute? Who wants to raise kids, invest in a house or run a business with the continuous stench of gunpowder in the air? Even if the system is 99% effective, people will still be forced to run to the shelters. It would be interesting to know which politician (or politician's son, a la Gilad) was hired as a "consultant" to advocate this deal for Lockheed-Martin and how much he or she received.
8. To stop Kassams
Ros ,   Tel Aviv   (11.30.06)
Take the money from the cities who caused the State almost NIS 500 m for the one-day strike!
