2. Jerusalem will be more beautiful when it is FREE
Suzanne Smith ,   Bethlehem, Palestine   (12.03.06)

3. To Susan Smith
God's Servant ,   USA   (12.03.06)
According to historical facts, the Jewish people were the original Palestinians, so named by the Romans, so I do hope THEY are the ones you write about, and, BTW, Bethlehem is in Israel. The temporary label of "Palestine" no longer applies to the land.
4. what about the dom of the rock!!
mohammed ,   jerusalem   (12.03.06)
well i think it is stupid that u didnt put among the list the dom of the rock!! i think the israeli Discrimination is in everything!!
5. #2 Having fun with the Muslims in Bethlehem
Michael ,   Haifa   (12.03.06)
Your christian brethren are leaving that city in droves, you must really like your fellow arabs. Bethlehem is no longer christian, and if you really live there Suzanne Smith, you have really dark days ahead of you. they will turn your jesus churches into mosques.
6. #4 Why would a real arab call Jerusalem Jerusalem
Michael ,   Haifa   (12.03.06)
Just goes to show who is a real Jew and a real Muslim. If you were a true Muslim, you would have called it ""Al Quds" since Jerusalem is the jewish term for that city. Nevertheless, your brothers in the Waqf are destroying the foundations of that golden domb, and in a few years, you will see it will just cave in, KAPOOT.
7. Oh dear no4
Rysk ,   Tel Aviv   (12.03.06)
Oh dear Ms Smith, with a name like that you don't sound like a 'Palestinian'. Just come to support their struggle have you? Its dead easy in Israel/Palestine, throw a rock against the wall, write emails to your friends about those nasty IDf soldiers whilst munching on a falafale. Now why don't you go and be really brave and volunteer in Chechnya or Darfur???
8. Re#2: Jerusalem will be more beautiful when it is FREE
Steve ,   USA   (12.04.06)
Jerusalem will be more beautiful when it is FREE and when the Jews return to it, to fill its streets, courtyards and temple.
9. Belz
B ,   Jerusalem   (12.04.06)
This is an anti-religious news paper..why would they have a shul on the list?
10. Jerusalem is free
Danny ,   To Ms Smith   (12.04.06)
Without going into historical facts etc who indicates who's land is who's Does the US have the right to its land which belonged to the Indians? Do the British , Dutch and French have the right to so many colonies which they have all over the world? etc etc Just a reminder: when Jerusalem was still occupied by Arabs no Jew was allowed to pray at the Western wall. No one cared how Jews were slaughtered all aroud the world throughout the ages. Quesion is dear Ms. Smith how objective are you of the tables were turned! Thats right! you are not! I have no problem with Arabs or Palestinians for that matter. Just they must understand and accept the fact we Jews live here and will stay here forever.
11. What's in a name
yuyume ,   Jaffa, Israel   (12.04.06)
"The best buildings" is a problematic concept to begin with: Best for whom? For what? As to sheer beauty, it's indeed strange the Dome of the Rock is not mentioned, nor the Rockefeller museum. The church of Scotland, above the cinemateque? The simple beauty of the Old City's walls. And what about the Ethiopian church in the street of that name? Or perhaps the Tayelet, the walk way, or "Augusta Victoria" or... There are many beautiful buildings in Jerusalem. It's the combination of them, the light on the golden stones "all of it together", that makes Jerusalem into the special city it is. For some reason many newer buildings have been left out. As if the architect stopped looking at buildings after a certain period of time. What about the Israel museum and its sculpture garden? The High court of Justice? the original memorial hall of Yad VaShem (no not those later additions). One of the problems is that Jerusalem is loosing its beuatiful skyline to big monsters, horros conceived by contractors and tycoons out to make a quick buck, rather than consider character, style, functionality, community. And then, there is of course that piece of horror of all horrors, "the wall". It's violent concrete says more than all.
12. God's Land is Beautiful
One Time Visitor ,   America   (12.04.06)
It is so sad that the Jews and Arabs cannot remember that they are brothers, decendents of Abraham all. As such they are all God's people. Live together in peace in your beautiful land!
13. Unique City
enzo ,   london,uk   (12.04.06)
What a wonderful, unique city! Everybody should visit Jerusalem at least once in his\her lifetime. Thanks Nitza for the lovely report.
14. #2 HAVE YOU FILLED UP ON ENOUGH LIES TO RETURN TO USA YET?
(12.04.06)
15. Suzanne Smith
L Schwartz ,   Tel Aiv Israel   (12.04.06)
And when they stop blowing themselves and innocent Israelis up...
16. A Reminder To One Time Visitor
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (12.04.06)
"And Abraham gave ALL that he had to Isaac. But to the sons of the concubines that Abraham had, he gave gifts and sent them away from his son while he yet lived, eastward, to the east country." (Genesis 25:5-6) Ishmael was the son of Hagar, a concubine. The reason why there's no peace here is because Ishmael is still trying to steal OUR land, and is trying to murder us in the process. The solution is to send him "eastward, to the east country".
17. #6 Amen brother!!
Petra McIntyre ,   USA   (12.04.06)

20. #2: only the Jews have protected the rights of all in J'lem
dante ,   uk   (12.04.06)
only the Jews have protected the rights of everyone in Jerusalem. uner the arabs, the Jews were expelled from the old city and from arab-controlled areas, generally. "suzanne smith" has chosen involve herself, as an enemy of Israel, in a conflict of which she knows nothing. she should be treated as an enemy and suffer the full consequences of her status as such.
21. No beauty with a Secular non religious Govt.
Eliyahoo HaNavi ,   Universe   (12.04.06)
Be'ezrat HaShem. Yerushalaim will get back it's beauty only when it will be governed by a Torah true ultra religious leadership and a Torah Constitution. That will be soon when you will realize that I am Eliyahoo haNavi and waiting. By the true Eliyahoo
22. Belz remark by Gabriel #1
Eliyahoo HaNavi ,   Universe   (12.04.06)
As in my comment before, you have to realize that anything Jewish religious is not beautiful in the eyes of an Israeli secular. If a gentile will believe in it than it's nice in the Israelis eye, otherwise it's the opposite for them. So you know with whom you deal. Gabriel, be strong. Be'ezrat HaShem, we will turn the tables very very soon. By Eliyahoo haNavi
23. jerusalem has beautiful buildings
sas ,   israel   (12.05.06)
had we not had mr. ohlmert as mayor Jerusalem would be thriving and MUCH more beautiful. HE RUINED THE CITY as HE IS RUINING THE COUNTRY. When will people wake up and see that this man is a total failure?????
24. How far east....?
One Time Visitor ,   America   (12.05.06)
...here would be the problem then. How far east should he go? Golan... Iran... China... Shalom.
