Also, Toledo James, if you saw any domestic news of the Darfur rally last spring, you'd of seen that over 50% of the 20,000+ people there were Jewish and representing Jewish groups, coming in from all over the country. So we do care about other peoples' facing potential genocide or mass slaughter. Israel should take in several hundred of them, allowing the rest to be resettled in the West ( most their Arabic-speaking "brethren" will hardly tolerate them in their 22 countries). Israel has settled Muslim refugees before- from the Balkan conflict in the 1990s. Obviously it shoudn't become a magnet for the refugees to flee but taking in several hundred and integrating them as a distinct ethnic group in Israeli society wouldn't be so bad. And the thousands more after clearing security checks should be allowed to work and be treated humanely and equally under the law until they are arranged to be resettled in the immigrant-welcoming USA and European., Australia, Canada, and Latin America.

There's a simple solution for the male refugees -- train them into a militia, equip them for guerilla fighting, then airlift them home. In the meantime, feed, clothe, educate the families, while the men are liberating their homeland. When the familes go home they'll build a better country. We can do no less. And there's space in the Negev. The only difficulty is that this will be expensive. The only downside is that it will annoy and frighten arab governments. Wait- is that a downside??
