I think you misunderstand me. I want the Haredim to boycott EL AL. EL AL will then fly 7 days a week which will partially offset the haredi boycott but will also make EL AL more competitive with foreign airlines that also fly seven days a week

First of all, no one is letting religion or rabbis to rule over "this." The ultra-orthodox rabbi made a statement to ban El Al. Do you understand? A statement. No rabbi or religion is ruling over this. Second, if someone wants to not fly EL AL because this particular rabbi's opinion is respected by that person, well, that is that person's choice; isn't it. Why are you so concerned with this to the degree that you are anyway? You sound all distraught over this.

It is not often that I find ,myself in agreement with the Haredim. However El Al is the national airline of the State of Israel, which is the ONLY Jewish state in the world. As such the airline should be respectful of THE institution that has kept our people live; namely, the the holy Shabbat

Like it or not the Jewish people stand for something in the world. Even the 1 billion+ Christians and 1billion+ Muslims agree that God Himself, the revealed himself at Har Sinai. The Torah we received from is the "instruction manual" for our role as anation and as individuals. Of course you should not take my word for it rather check it logicially yourself. We Jews don't half to accept things on the basis of blind faith. The ramifications to this issue affect every walk of life, including if EL Al should fligh on Shabbes.

If you sit in a religious section of the plane you don't get movies. If you are the wrong sex you have to move. If it is prayer time, you have to put up with their prayers. Please let them boycott El Al. Let them fly on another airline. Let them live in another country. Who else would take their crap.
