31. World wide Checkpoints thanks to "peaceful Islam"
Imam Oron ,   Londonistan   (12.14.06)
There are checkpoints at AIRPORTS all over the World, thanks to the actions of followers of "peaceful Islam". The hell of "palestine" is the work of the late yassir arafat, hamas, plo, pflp, the whole alphabet soup of terror gangs operating in the terror-tories. What happened to all the money Arafat got from the EU, US? Ask Suha Arafat who lives not ing "palestine", but in France!
32. david (a.k.a. Ibrahim)
sk ,   USA   (12.14.06)
Leaving aside that Gaza is part of Israel and therefore cannot be "occupied" except by Arabs, Israelis control crossings because of what "Palestinians" do otherwise. Only a dufus would fail to understand that the Israeli Left has been desperately trying to get rid of Greater Israel for decades. That it can't quite do so is only because of the savagery of the Arabs calling themselves "Palestinians."
33. #8..Ann..Australia
Barry ,   Canada   (12.14.06)
The point is ..he's not a Jew trying to help starving Jews..he's aterrorist trying to smuggle money in to buy more weapons.Wake up,for Gods sake..do you seriously think that money is going to the Palestinian people.Shake your head..see if it rattles!

Cameron ,   USA   (12.14.06)
The only 'monster' the world sees is this barbarian busy touring the rest of the cage for yet more gold to put yet more bodies on the ground. Have you forgotten your own brush with Islamic behavior in Bali?
36. To #29
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (12.14.06)
Yeah, if the Canadians don't have the good sense to come across the Rio Grande like normal, illegal immigrants, we don't want 'em.

38. speaking of savagery: Israel murderd 6000 Palestinians
david ,   usa   (12.14.06)
in the past 5 years. On a 9/11 scale, this number would be equivalent to 600,000 Americans.
39. 38 - can't use the word 'murder' since most were militants
NL ,   Israel   (12.14.06)
By international law (not to mention logic), killing a militant or armed combatant is totally legitimate. Just because the Pals can't get along with eachother enough to form a cohesive military force doesn't mean that the 'military wing' of all of their politic groups don't constitute as militias. As such, it's the same thing as killing a soldier during war time. Another legal distinction: The difference between murder and manslaughter: the INTENT. When Israel inadvertently kills civilians, although it is very sad, there is no intent to TARGET civilians. Savagery and murder ARE accurate when describing the TARGETING of civilians. ALL of the Palestinians' attacks on Israel fall into this category bc they specifically target civilian areas.
40. Haniyeh & Iran
Benjamin ,   JHB SA   (12.14.06)
Do these people not see the consequences of their alliances ... Arafat & Saddam Hussein ... now Haniyeh & Iran's leaders ... evil evil people !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
41. #8 Ann, Canberra, PLEASE READ
honest man ,   granada hills, ca   (12.14.06)
dear ann forget about "what about if then" , use your head, and look at the facts, isn't he supporting the suicidal bombers and calling them shahids, isnot he officially declaring that doesnot accept the existance of israel? how long you want to live in an imaginary world. just go and read the koran and fount out what is the doctrine there that all these people are trying to follow. after all these terrorist attacs all over the world , stupidity is not more a right, it is a priviledge.rather than saying big words, try to grasp the facts, wake up and smell the coffee
42. 39: INTENT: Israel drops 1ton bombs on Palestinian civilians
david ,   usa   (12.14.06)
Guess the INTENT here is to entertain Palestinian women & children with Israeli fireworks.
43. Israel warns civilians to evacuate despite security risk 42 -
NL ,   Israel   (12.14.06)
There is still an intent to protect Palestinian civilians. Although it significantly hampers their operations and even endangers soldiers at times, Israel has a policy of dropping bombs AFTER WARNING CIVILIANS that bombs will be dropped in that area. Not to mention that the IDF has constant conferences on how to avoid civilian casualties, especially from the air. (Dropping bombs is a good way of destroying arms caches, which the Hamas government has publicly declared that it will keep smuggling, despite the fact that they accepted a ceasefire). Meanwhile, on the Palestinian side, elected gov't Hamas champions violent resistance (including suicide bombing). They lob rockets indiscriminately into civilian territory (yes, IDF drops bombs, but they are smart bombs, targeting specific targets based on intel information - not the same). PA-subsidized elementary school books praise and encourage shahidism. The Al Khalil Al Rahman KINDERGARTEN FOR GIRLS in Bethlehem has video of its pupils singing: “Give me the Kalashnikov if you are thinking of giving up the fight. For the sake of glory to religion we give our blood. Fasten your bomb belt oh would-be martyr and fill the square with blood so that we get back our homeland. We will sacrifice ourselves for our country. We answer your call and make of our skulls a ladder to your glory.. a ladder.. Rise with us to liberate Palestine through the path of the Islamic dawah. Whoever abandons the path of Muslims will live under humiliation and slavery.” I'd say that's a SIGNIFICANT difference in intent. Comparing the two, it would seem that, in many lights, the Israelis actually care more for Palestinian children than many members of Hamas
44. #22 very insightful very true.
(12.14.06)
every time zionists oppress these people they do nothng but increase their popularity both internal and external. people love underdogs. palestinians are the ultimate underdogs.

(12.14.06)
according to you Zionists, whom I consider evil, you guys are angels. again according to you poor oppressed people who are fighting for their freedom and dignity are evil.
48. lots of freedom fighters don't support suicide bombers
(12.14.06)
Many nations achieved dignity and freedom without advocating suicide bombing among the population at large, including among grade school children. It should be noted that very few modern nations achieved freedom and dignity by announcing refusal to negotiate, as Hamas has. Refusal to negotiate has led to revolutions and then dictatorships. Is that what the Palestinians want?
49. #48 however no oppressor or invader...
(12.14.06)
voluntarily gave their rights back to the oppressed and the victimized. israel is no exception to this. now that you made your point about the oppressed. i would want to hear your recommendation to the oppressors.
50. 49 - false. 'oppressors' seek peace more than 'oppressed'
NL ,   Israel   (12.15.06)
1938 - Peel Commission proposed a two-state solution with Israel receiving a mere sliver of its ancient homeland and the Arabs receiving the bulk of the land. The Jews accepted and the Arabs rejected this proposal. 1948 - UN proposes 2-state solution, once again with Arabs receiving the bulk of the land. Again, Jews accept. Arabs reject. Post-67: UN Security Council Resolution 242 passed, which called for return of captured territories in exchange for peace, recognition and secure boundaries. Israel accepted and all the Arab nations and the Palestinians rejected this resolution. The Arabs met in Khartum and issued their three famous "no's": "No peace, no recognition, no negotiation" Nonetheless, in the 70s, the Israelis expressed continued willingness to trade land-for-peace, as seen by the 1979 peace agreement with Egypt. 2000- Barak formally accepts Clinton proposal to return 100% of Gaza, 95+% of WB in a contiguous area with a long border with Jordan, 1-3% extra territory to compensate for areas of WB not given. Israeli cabinet ratifies. Arafat rejected this proposal, provided NO counter-offer and rejected Clinton's offer to fly to Israel to facilitate renewed discussion. late 1990s - post-Oslo accords. Arafat went on to say that they were a red herring, that he withdrew from his former committments and continued the trend of Palestinian violence. 2005- Israel withdraws unilaterally from Gaza. Expresses willingness to withdraw from large areas of WB. A party running on this 2-state solution platform is elected. Prior to Gilad Shalit's kidnapping on sovereign Israeli soil, ignores - other than flyovers - ongoing rocket attacks launched from Gaza. Meanwhile, Palestinians elect Hamas, whose charter explicitly rejects recognition and negotiation of Israel. Additionally, there are several Jewish Israeli groups founded for the purpose of promoting a two-state solution, advancing Palestinian rights, etc. There are elected political officials that reflect this position. On the Pal side, there isn't even one group openly and formally condemning Hamas' policy of violent resistance in a tangential manner. The only person pay lip service to the concept of negotiation is Abbas, however, even under his rule he admitted to the Palestinian Council that he had no intention of dismantling the Palestinian terrorist militias. The PA has also repeatedly expressed its lack of intention of preventing arms smuggling. Regional history thus indicates that the 'oppressors' are making a much greater effort to reach a peaceful solution and a Palestinian state than are the Palestinians. themselves.

53. Thank you Man of Peace
Ann ,   Canberra   (12.15.06)
And the other comments were instructive, to be expected the usual "he is a terrorist", "look how much they're getting in aid" (conveniently forgetting the boycott Israel organised and the freezing of tax credits that properly belongs to the Palestinians). As for Suha in Paris, why shouldn't she be there? There are Palestinians all over the world, many displaced no thanks to your apartheid terrorist state. As for Islam in Australia, I have many valued Muslim friends; if I wanted to see what the Quran said I might also want to check my bible and the Torah for its abhorrent passages. So there was Bali and a few Muslim rapists, that's nothing compared to the system racism and terrorism practised by the worse-than-apartheid state of Israel. I don't hate Jews, I love them. With the actions of the Israeli government, you are harming Jews everywhere. You do not speak for other Jews disgusted with your racism.
