1. This article sucks
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (12.14.06)
Come get me.
2. irony <EOM>
Eli ,   USA   (12.14.06)
3. Yeah, great plan.
Ironcandle ,   Atlanta, GA   (12.14.06)
Try to keep the free flow of ideas and information bottled up. That works every time. Morons. Don't those Knesset idiots have terrorists to kill?
4. More concerned about talkbackers than the terrorists
Jew ,   Bizaro Israel   (12.14.06)
that are launching kassams. More concerned about saving the arabs who scream ontop of houses for our death. Down is up, left is right, right is left and left is right.
5. What about journalists' "govt. unnamed sources"?
Maria T ,   Canada   (12.14.06)
Isn't that just as irresponsible according to their point of view?. And secret cabinet meetings, leaked documents, etc., etc.? They hate Talkbackers because they tell the truth about Olmert and his government. The government thinks that anything short of blind support or general apathy is subversive. What's next? Should Talkbackers expect a knock on the door in the middle of the night? By the way, if they intimidate Israelies, there's an army of foreign Talkbackers ready to take up arms - or rather, the keyboard.
6.  "A threat to national security"?
Maria T ,   Canada   (12.14.06)
Talkbackers a threat? And it's OLMERT's government that says that? Did they say it with a straight face?
7.  iam quitting too iwant to keep
tea man ,   marjayoun leb   (12.14.06)
my tea plantation may mr. hasson will order airstrike against my kingdom so for that i would rather be safe than sorry adios lads was fun chatting with ya
8. Grrreat!
Screwthis ,   US   (12.14.06)
There is no dearth of moronic imbeciles in the world! So if I call Hasson an 'idiot' (a statement of truth) what's he gonna do??
9. The Iranian influence
Talula ,   Israel   (12.14.06)
Well, if I say that MK Hasson is an Idiot, is that considered slander? No, it's not. Anyone who says he is tired of reading the outrageous slander, malicious rumors and run-of-the-mill tastless replies, is in my book an Idiot. He doesn't have to read them. Why should he care who is beind a talkback? I will never apologise to anyone for expressing my opinion. I work hard, I pay tax and I am a good citizen. And, right now, my opinion is that MK Hasson is an Idiot with nothing else to do all day.
10. Tagged?
Kate ,   Jerusalem   (12.14.06)
Will I ever beable to face my fellow countrymen with a "tag" that reads "I don't like Olmert, racists, dumb laws or right wing fanatics?" Will "they" come for me in the middle of the night and force me to vote Likud?
11. In Israel they come to your house in the middle of the night
Ilan ,   Ariel   (12.14.06)
Just like the KGB did in Russia. So an opinion can put you in jail for more than a year without a charge ever being stated. Freedom of speech shouldn't carry such a high price. And in a normal democracy it doesn't.
12. Talkbacks
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (12.14.06)
Heck, I'll give you name, rank and serial #. As long as someone thinks that I'm a 6'5" US Marine instead of this 5'4", 115 lbs, li'l ol' lady, I'll give you my 'phone #, too. Either way, I'll, still call an asshat an asshat.
13. USA
Sam WEinstein ,   USA   (12.14.06)
Always ways of getting around these issues. Too many wackos out there. Don't they realize it's a safety issue also no matter what side of the political side of the fence your on.
14. Well at least this is something for one we are united on
Sam Weinstein ,   USA   (12.14.06)
Well at least this is something for one we are united on. Tell him he is destroying Israeli security by doing this. This MK is a idiot.
15. Didn't know ones opinion could scare the Gov. so badly.
Jeremiah ,   Israel, Jewish Land   (12.14.06)
Although Ynet's left-winged biased reporting is highly annoying, the fact they allow takebacks is wonderful. It would be great if they didn't censor them. Then we could all get to hear what is really on the minds of the public. Maybe that's way the Government is so upset, because they get to hear exactly what the public thinks about them. Good. So hear this Olmert sucks and he's horrible for Israel and I can't wait for the those in power to start acting like Jews, instead of crooked politicians doing whatever it takes to stay in power running their banana republic.
16. This is important
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (12.14.06)
Whoever does away with talkbacks will be guilty of my emotional demise. I used to be an idiot who cleaned house all the time. Now that I'm an idiot who has grown used to the mess around here, don't anybody dare to take away my reason for this mess. There's not enough prozac in the world for me to come to grips with such a disaster.
17. Down with the Olmert Govt. Anti Democratic
Eliyahoo haNavi ,   Universe   (12.14.06)
YES! The secular leadership is becoming concerned and worries about becoming null and void. So they want to abolish the democratic system and become dictatorship. Yep Olmert, you have shown your true face all the way since the evacuation anti democratic dictator move. Anyway, if you change, why not change to ultra religious jewish leadership and Torah constitution? Than! you will have reason to close the talkbacks. come on, let's go Jewish religion! Torah constitution. See site http://members.aol.com/youthformoshiach/
18. they're back
dana ,   ny   (12.14.06)
The liberal fascist pais cutters are back. They used their Labor party power to deny jobs and health insurance to people who voted differently and will do the same again. Before the state they used the visa process against their opponents. If the pais cutting dibs weren't so facistic, people wouldn't need anonymity
19. Your'e kidding, they actually take us seriously!
J ,   Jerusalem, Israel.   (12.14.06)
They don't even listen to their voters, what makes us so special? Like we are going to influence public opinion. We are just a bunch of shmo's that have no other outlet in which to vent our anger at this rediculous government we have been cursed with. Here's to all you Talkbaker "celebrities". lol
20. This shows what this government is all about
Maria T ,   Canada   (12.14.06)
It's not about national security. There are many more pressing issues in that department that are being deliberately neglected. This government is all about staying in power, no matter what, until it's all over, when they'll pack their bags and go to live the good life in Paris or wherever.
21. To #16 - Very funny - And you're not alone
Maria T ,   Canada   (12.14.06)
22. WOW, Now we're a matter of national security?
John ,   USA   (12.14.06)
Seems like the end of the democracy to me. I just want to remind everyone that it's the same thing the Nazis, Communists, and the Islamofacists do. I like Ynet because they are willing to post things that they might find offensive, but I think when you expose lies to the light of day, they wither under the heat of truth. What are these guys so afraid of anyway if they KNOW their views are legal and moral.
23. No More Goverment Sources
Sam Weinstein ,   USA   (12.14.06)
Just tell the MK then there will be no more confidential sources that they will be named no matter who it hurts. I can see the party beginning
24. Go ahead, make my day
Talkbacker ,   Somewhere   (12.14.06)
U can't turn off the Internet.
25. influence public openion
suha ,   jerusalem   (12.14.06)
it may be not true or right openion . but the way to tell may affect the public ,,, as i know a person can tell the openion .. and the opposite of the same openion and in both he get the trust of people
26. Who Cares?
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (12.14.06)
Great minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events, small minds discuss people." - US Admiral Hyman George Rickover
27. embarrassed
mordechai ,   jerusalem, israel   (12.14.06)
As my native tongue is English, I generally reply to foreign blogs. I often find myself exlaining Israel or it's leaders. Hasson has beyond all bounds humiliated our country with this nonsence. That his risdiculous idea was treated seriously is an embarrasment to the Yisrael Beitanu Party and to the knesset. I sure hope the foreign bloggers I communicate with don't get wind of this.
28. To # 27
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (12.14.06)
Never, ever apologize for somebody else. That only implies that you had something to do or accept responsibility for whatever they should apologize. If I were to apologize for all the screwballs in this country or express my regrets for some of their idiotic pronouncements and behavior, I'd have to buy all of China out of sackcloth and would suffocate under those ashes I should dump on my head.
29. talkback identification
chaim ,   miami beach usa   (12.14.06)
I once questioned if the public opinion expressed by the talkback community has any effect upon the individuals responsible that have to make policy decisions, I am glad to see that it must have, since it struck a nerve by trying to obtain the identity of opposing opinions. Wow are members of the Israeli government so afraid of the leadership that they by some ruse or another try and stifle public criticism. That is true abrogating the notion that in Israel there is free speech.
30. one thing we agree with
713 ,   Seattle US   (12.14.06)
is that censorship sucks... I more then admit I say things, that most people wouldn't want to hear. But standard "cause and effect" laws, allow me the knowledge that those things need to be said. They just want to stop the ideas that interfere with their grand plan. Which is what is happening now. But it doesn't matter, though. They will put up the law, and we'll find a way to hack it :), we are the internet pirates...
