Living in a country where the government is more eager than ever to control Internet, including by breaking the user's anonymity, I can give you a thorough account of what democracy and freedom are *not*. Requiring ID from talkbackers is certainly a very undemocratic and dangerous measure. We are not airline passengers after all. Personally, I prefer to be criticized, ridiculed, even insulted by an anonymous talkbacker than have everyone's right to freedom of speech limited -- and I'm not even an elected official.

this government is so out of touch with reality... of course public opinion is not sought after. the only thing this government differs common with governments around the world is their snouts might be kosher in the trough

I think that when this bill comes to a vote in the Knesset, Ynet should publish the complete list of how each and every MK voted so that in the next election we can vote them out of office. Of course, this will mean that their entire party will lose.
