73 Talkbacks for this article
61. To # 57
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (12.16.06)
My children, unfortunately, don't have a sense of humor, either, and that is unfortunate. There is too much sadness in the world as it is, and if I can make someone smile or laugh, even it it's at me, I've accomplished something worthwhile. One can't change the reality of the world, but one can choose how to look at it, and sometimes, that 's the difference between hope and despair.
62. Don't like talkbacks, don't read them. That simple.
Márcia ,   Brazil   (12.16.06)
63. What would they do for International contributors?
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (12.17.06)
Send Mossad Agents to kill them? Virtually they cannot apply any sanctions on international contributors and may only punish local, Israeli contributors. Howere I also believe THERE MUST BE A REGISTRATION Each Talkback contributor should be registred with the newspaper with a real name and real e-mail and then they may USE THEIR ANONYMOUS NAMES AS USERS. That is need for ID PROTECTION as some people like to steal IDS. Another benefit would be registred persons could have a facility to see their past talkback if it is provided for registred USERS.
64. Identity parade in Israel
Marcel Abel ,   France   (12.17.06)
"Sans la liberté de blâmer, il n'est point d'éloge flatteur." (Baumarchais, a French writer). "Without freedom to criticize, it is no gratifying praise." This is the motto of a French newspaper (Le Figaro). Jesus said : « "I tell you," he replied, "if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out." Any democracy (Government by the people, exercised either directly or through elected representatives) which pretends to be what it is not in reality and tries to muzzle its public opinion cannot survive as such. They are bound to fail sooner or later.
65. to 61
iam 57 ,   jerusalem   (12.17.06)
good darling .. but i never write any thing to let the other smile or laugh .. honostly i hope to do better than smiling or laughing .. but if i can not at leaste i tried salam m hartley .. . iam as simple as you to look to that world as it is ,, but i try to make change if it is possible ,, if not it is okey i just smile . i do not see it is so sad .
66. to the 62 from brazil
basima ,   jerusalem   (12.17.06)
the simpliest not to write ,, i see reading is not so hard .. but writing is not so simple or at leaste it must not simple . it must has a n aim . even to tell what is in your heart .. i think your heart is empty of evry thing .. it is not so worse .. the worse is to fill it with hate .
67. again, for clarity: "Don't like what talkbackers write?
Márcia ,   Brazil   (12.17.06)
Don't read it. It's simple as that."
68. to Bassima in Jerusalem - democracy and freedom
Márcia ,   Brazil   (12.17.06)
Living in a country where the government is more eager than ever to control Internet, including by breaking the user's anonymity, I can give you a thorough account of what democracy and freedom are *not*. Requiring ID from talkbackers is certainly a very undemocratic and dangerous measure. We are not airline passengers after all. Personally, I prefer to be criticized, ridiculed, even insulted by an anonymous talkbacker than have everyone's right to freedom of speech limited -- and I'm not even an elected official.
69. opinions
martin ,   stevenage, england   (12.18.06)
this government is so out of touch with reality... of course public opinion is not sought after. the only thing this government differs common with governments around the world is their snouts might be kosher in the trough
70. Vote them out!
Susan ,   Kfar Saba   (11.15.07)
I think that when this bill comes to a vote in the Knesset, Ynet should publish the complete list of how each and every MK voted so that in the next election we can vote them out of office. Of course, this will mean that their entire party will lose.
71. to #9 They are afraid of us
Susan ,   Kfar Saba   (11.15.07)
When Rabin was pushing Oslo and he and Peres were beating up the protesters, people like us had no way to publicize what was going on because the internet was not as developed as it is now. They would bring in the army, declare the area a closed military zone and keep out the press. Now they can't stop us and they are afraid.
72. Talkback is freedom of speech.
Claudia ,   Tampa USA   (11.15.07)
Apparently those in the Knesset are afraid of the direction of the majority of talkbackers in Israel. Every where I read Israeli's calling for Olmert to resign and MK's are ignoring it. No one seems to want to do anything about the direction of his government. Election time in Israel will be very interesting!
73. YON FEDER..............................................
AVROHOM BILGREI ,   ZION   (11.18.07)
I'VE NEVER HID BEHIND ANONYIMITY ! WHEN IT SUITS YOUR SELF SERVING AMBITIONS YOU CHAMPION THE CAUSE OF FREE SPEECH - OTHER WISE YOU OMIT ! YOU HIDE BEHIND YOUR OWN CLOAK OF INEXCESSABILITY !
