5. What a Loser! No wonder the Labor party loses every election
Aviva ,   Israel   (12.17.06)
No person with a stable frame of mind would elect a party which so anxiously wants to hand our land over to all of our enemies.
6. Ayalon is not a leader
mordechai ,   jerusalem, israel   (12.17.06)
Ayalon has already failed at a crucial test of leadership. While heading the nation's internal security service, he consistantly used it to limit legitimate political criticism of government policy. An individual who has no concept of the division of powers and is unable to control himself when power is given into his hands is a dangerous alternative for leader of the country.

9. Syria Is A Failing State
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (12.17.06)
So what interest do we have in talking to a regime that may not be there in a few years. & why give the Golan to Syria? They started 3 wars & lost. If Syria wants peace, let them renounce claims to Golan. Labour is just a bunch of losers with stale ideas & failed policies. I suppose peace with Syria will be as successful as our other givaways - we get nothing, they get land. Tell Syria that we'll let them keep Damascus if they don't bother us. You'll see how improved our relations will be.

12. The time is right for Israel-Syria dialogue
Tim - Brighton ,   UK   (12.17.06)
They both have nothing to lose by having exploratory talks The sheer contempt that Shia Iran hold for the Baathist Syrian regime is making Syria more and more uncomfortable and fearful of an Iranian sponsored takeover. The Syria Hezbollah and Iran relationship vs Lebanon shows Syria to be less than a junior partner and Syria increasingly finds itself less and less in control of events there. The Syrian public too crave to be back with the Arab family and not beholden to Shia extremism. Syria and Israel might find they have more in common that they ever believed.
13. labour, meretz and hamass agree
Arie ,   Afula   (12.17.06)
Israel must be destroyed
14. Ayalon states:
marya ,   sacramento   (12.17.06)
" Israel must talk to whomever wants peace. According to him, 'Ultimate test of leadership is preventing war.' This would be laughable if it weren't so tragic. Peace? These simpletons think Syria wants peace? Do they not ask themselves why all this started after the debaucle in Lebanon? Assad observed and decided Israel could be taken - then the talk started up again over Lebanon. It's all about the Golan Heights stupid. Stop acting like a silly school girl who wants to believe her date will love her more with her pants down.
15. #12, Dialogue is OK if Israel's not bullied into concessions
Sarah Davidson ,   Jerusalem   (12.17.06)
The thing is, 'dialogue' with an Arab country or entity generally means forcing concessions out of Israel while the other side signs a piece of worthless paper promising an end to the conflict. Not exactly a fair and balanced agreement. We have seen so far how such accords have been honored with our Palestinian peace partners. Territory we give away becomes a launching pad for missles against our cities. Therefore I am sure you can understand the skepticism a majority of us over here feel regarding relinquishing territory we won legitimately in a war which was forced upon us by enemies.
