The new US Secretary of defense is a loser and is not well liked. I don't hear Isreal saying that "Iran has to be wiped off the map" or "Iran is going to disappear like the Soviet Union". What Isreal is saying is that no one likes to be wiped out and you have to protect yourselves as neccessary. The scary thing is that Iranian military equipment is not at all reliable if they launch a nuke at Isreal it can detonate somewhere else other than Isreal. Iran should not have a bomb!

Any internal unity could easily result in a substantial military force (exactly the way that the various Israeli military organizations put aside their differences and joined to form the IDF). And, in case you've missed the numerous gunbattles between factions in recent days, the Palestinians CLEARLY aren't running short on ammunition or arms. If I recall correctly, guns in Gaza outnumber people 5:1 right now. Most importantly for combating Jihad though, would be to stop promoting shahidism in elementary school textbooks, stop teaching pro-suicide bombing songs in Palestinian kindergartens (which, btw, receive funding from Muslim 'charity' organizations abroad). The Palestinians have PLENTY they could do to promote an end to violence emanating from their territories. They merely need to CHOOSE to do so, and so far, they have NOT.

In the sixth paragraph, the author states that Iran is refusing to stop building the "bomb". Iran is not refusing to stop building the bomb, it is refusing to stop enriching uranium. Get it right, you have the world depending on accurate information. This type of writing will undoubtedly cause confusion and will snowball and have other newspapers saying that Iran is refusing to stop building the bomb, that may lead to another world war. Tell the truth, if Iran is pursuing the bomb, then I believe it is for self defense. But yes, they are pursuing the bomb in my opinion. But all of the investigating agencies say they are not. I believe the statement Iran made was to the effect that Isreal's govt was going to fall from within of it's own doing, not because Iran was going to attack it. The world's newspapers did not want to hear that Iran felt the Isreali govt was going to self destruct, the world wanted to hear that Iran wanted to Destroy Isreal. Iran never threatened to wipe Isreal off the map. But what I do see is that Isreal is making threats to attack another soverign state that has done nothing to it, other than have a difference of opinion. I do not think Iran desires to make nuclear weapons to destroy any country. Using nuclear weapons means 'destroying oneself'. I think the US, Britain and Israeli threats of severe sanctions against Iran is an attempt to have a monopoly as for the tenure of nuclear weapons, so that they can bribe and threat the whole world when their desires are not met.
