Jews can't rent in Um El Fahm or any other Arab cities, why isn't this called racism?

4. No rent in Gaza either
Steve ,   USA   (12.20.06)
B"H There is to be no allowed rental to those who are not currently in Gaza. Wait ... that was disengagement: booting the Jews out after their communities had been infiltrated. Either the Jews protect their right to maintain an entirely Jewish community or they are forced out as the community deteriorates from attacks within. That phenonemon is what is promoting this sort of reaction as a step to try to protect the community from those who wish to attack it. There have been stories on rapes and so forth of Jewish women by those whom police protection does not apply. These sort cannot be allowed in since they do not observe the same protective laws as the rest of the community. Those in Gaza for example are permitted to lob missiles at Sderot and there is no police or even army response to arrest those responsible.

Why are you on this board? Are you Jewish? Big difference between kids acting up in NY museums and kids acting up by committing violent acts upon their neighbors. Sorry, but this is true.

stude ham ,   outremont, canada   (12.20.06)
So why the surprise at their banning of human beings? No wonder so many are leaving the Jewish faith! Who needs this kind of highly pretentious STUPIDITY? And they want to govern Israel? Don't let them!
19. Ani lo mevin
Moshe ,   Los Angeles, CA   (12.20.06)
Have the Rabbis read the dictate "Love thy stranger (nonJew) as thyself for you were strangers in the land of Egypt." They should read that before they do this dictate.
20. Re #9. Different situation
Steve ,   USA   (12.20.06)
B"H In the United States, if you commit a crime in a Jewish neighborhood, the police can be called and you can be arrested. In Israel, if someone outside of police juristiction commits a crime, the police can be called but no action will be taken. These two situations are entirely different. Those applying to rent are for the most part outside of police juristiction, representing a different nation than Israel. Proof of limitations in jurisdiction can be seen in Sderot where missiles land without police intervention against the nation attacking the local community. I am not sure what your background is. But I am very happy to have non-Jews as well as Jews in my neighborhood because their is common civil law that maintains order. Inviting those without citizenship or legal residency status, however, is a different matter, because of the lack of commitment to the local laws. In Israel, there is no common civil law. Those violent against the community are generally working as enemy agents for a nation committed to Israel's and the community's demise. It would be more akin to living near an American border where there is international crime. Many Americans shy away from a situation where there is a lack of law enforcement. They shy against a population committed to crime, and rightfully so, for the community's protection. Plus let us not forget that there are many exclusive neighborhoods in the United States based on economic class alone and many gated communities that restrict entry to those of means only to prevent jealousy from those without and thevery, to protect the community. These calls are for an entirely similar reason, to protect the community from outside attack before it becomes so infiltrated that it is necessary to disband the community altogether as far as I can tell.
21. Welcome to the Arab world. The world only pays attention
Roger ,   USA   (12.20.06)
when the Jews want to live among the Jews. In Jordan selling a property to a Jew is a capital offense despite the fact that the Hashemites signed a peace agreement with Israel and have even been getting the water from Israel for free.

do all of us a favor and keep your ignorant mouth closed. you have no idea what is taking place in these communities. sitting there in your comfortable american home in front of your comfy tv and beer and judging the actions of others. i'd like to see you in these neghborhoods on a daily basis constantly looking behind your back in case a knife is pushed deep into your back, in case your wife is raped because she's wearing a short skirt and is "asking for it", if your child is bombed or kidnapped or murdered and never shows up at home after school. because this is exactly what is occuring there. get off your high judgemental horse, my friend and look at the real situation. on the other hand, we invite you to come live there so you can experience the terror and uncertainty 24/7. our stae is not an apartheid state. it is a state of the JEWS and ISRAELIS!!! comprende? you have a melting pot in the usa who live peacefully with one another. do you see any community bombing another? any community terrorizing each other because of religious or political differences? i guess not! jews are not racist by nature. there are plenty of arabs and other nationalities from all over the world that prefer to live in israel and in peace. however, because of the recent excalation in terror attacks and political instability, jews in these neighborhoods feel afraid for their lives, for their children and for their wives. i know tons of communities in the usa that, should an african american, indian hindu, mexican, etc... move next door, they'll be lucky if they are ever spoken to much less invited for coffee. this is reality here in the usa, in europe and also in israel. do not hold us to a greater standard than yourself. we are all people and have our fears and insecurities and we all kind of live in somewhat apartheid communities.

excuse me? are you for real? in my neighborhood there are many jews and non jews living and very friendly with one another. actually, we are extremely close! which neighborhood that is jewish were you not allowed to buy into? i would really like to know! however, i do remember that 35 years ago in florida, my jewish parents , wanting to buy their dream home in boca raton were blackballed and refused! i believe that it was never a christian problem, but a jewish problem when many many jews were forbidden entry into country clubs, associations, political positions, and affluent christian neighborhoods such as boca raton, lake forest, illinois, and saratoga, florida. check your facts!

why have someone next door who wants to kill you.
30. Makes sense to me...
Lucia ,   USA   (12.20.06)
The main issue here is safety! Plus, these property owners do not want their apartments "ghettotized". They are basing their judgement on actual experience, not racism (a vastly overused word these days yawn..). I really feel for the people who live in fear nearby.
