At lease the Iranian people themselves seem to have he sense to vote against a megalomanic nutjob who is leading them down to ruination. The only sad thing is this doesnt directly affect the moron from Terhran right away, but he may have to address his countries problem and devote a little less cash to taking over the world and a little more to those he is supposed to help.

Persian CAT   (12.21.06)
Ahmadinejad got to where he is the result of US/Israeli belligent saber rattling, and a military quasi-coup. Now that both the US and Israel have received clear defeats in Iraq and Lebanon, the Iranians have changed course. The bottom line both Zionism and Islamism have to be eradicated for the Jews and Muslims to live in peace. It has happened before, it can happen again.
14. Let's not get ahead of ourselves
Raymond from DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (12.21.06)
While the election results are encouraging, I'm reminded of the talk a few years back of "good mullahs" vs. "bad mullahs". The "good mullahs", like so-called reformist Khatami, were either unable or unwilling to confront the real powers in Iran, so real change was modest. Rafsanjani may not be quite the fanatic that Ahmadinejad is, but he was heavily involved in then secret nuclear developments. Iran's young population is overwhelmingly opposed to the current regime, wants a genuine democracy and an opening to the West. They were among those who stood in solidarity with the US after the attacks of 9/11, while many Arabs (Palestinians among them)were celebrating in the street. Many would have no problem reestablishing relations with Israel. Given that some 10,000 candidates were disqualified, the results should be seen as a "no confidence" vote in the current leadership. But there's a long way to go. Nuclear developments are still going forward, and hundreds of thousands are being prepared for battle. Iran and the world are not home free yet.
15. It's a start...and to Raymond
Jellybean ,   Chicago   (12.21.06)
Hey Monkeyboy Members Only jacket guy, You're time is running out. From what I hear there are more young people in Iran than older I just hope they keep trying to get this creep out of office. Raymond, I agree with you. There was a documentary about Iran and how the younger generation wanted better relations with the west, to my surprised most of the loved the US!
16. Merry Christmas Ahmadinejad Ho,Ho,Ho.
Johnson ,   USA   (12.22.06)
