1. He's Just worried He Might Have To Find Another Job
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (12.22.06)
And there are few openings for kings these days. Maybe he could get a job as a Mid-East expert on the BBC. If his country was not being invaded by fleeing Iraqis on one side & the potential for more refugees from Palestine, you wouldn't hear a word from him.
2. I do not see it happening
Rami ,   Nazareth, Israel   (12.22.06)
I don't see peace happening in the middle east as long as Bush is still in power. Looks like we have to wait till the next election in 2008
3. Message to King Abdullah: YOU need to get more involved
USA   (12.22.06)
not Japan!
4. Little King gives nothing, keeps everything
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (12.22.06)
Who created the "Kingdom" of Jordan? The British gave away Arabia to the Saudi caravan robber tribe, and then had to knock a chunk off the Jewish National Homeland so that the cheated Hashemite robber caravan tribe could have their very own "Kingdom" to rule over. These shmucks didn't even conquer their own realms.
5. HEY KING, TAKE BACK YOUR OWN JORDANIAN FROM GAZA

7. Peace
Brod ,   USA   (12.22.06)
Peace but NOT at the expense of Israel's Biblical and Historic homeland of Judea and Samaria and Israel's National Security Interests and reducing Israel to a tiny indefensible enclave. Peace can only be achieved when Jordan accommodates all the Palestinians squatting in Israel's Biblical and Historic homeland of Judea and Samaria and rejoin their fellow Palestinians in the vast country of Jordan whose population is 80% Palestinians.
8. king of jordan
fish ,   tel-aviv   (12.22.06)
in other words this unelected ruler of a small, poor country ( for his good luck he has a presentable face and speaks fluent English for which he's loved by the media) is doing political blackmail - he's asking the world to press Israel into more concessions to palestinians ( this is the hope he mentions), or the middle east will explode. He knows very well that he may lose his own throne and he doesn't give a damn about pals, who killed his grandad and rebeled against his dad.Let him go back to his little despotic kingdom with an annual gross per capita less than 2000 USD, instead of lecturing the free world on rights and wrongs.I'm only amazed when politicians in the free world meet, speak and do serious discussions with leaders of arab countries, let them be in their own dung!
9. Peace Means Giving Up YOUR Land To The Philistines
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (12.22.06)
Not MY land: 1. Jordan is a MAJORITY "Palestinian". 2. Most "Palestinians" in Judea and Samaria, and many in Gaza are Jordanian citizens. 3. The Queen of Jordan, Rania, is a "Palestinian". 4. This means that the next king of Jordan will be half "Palestinian". 5. Fully half of Jordan's parliament is made up of "Palestinian" lawmakers. 6. Jordan's chambers of commerce report an even higher "Palestinian" membership. 7. Jordan's economic infrastructure is in "Palestinian" hands, particularly since the Gulf War, when they were expelled from the Gulf States and settled in Jordan with their money, spurring a tremendous construction boom and an economic explosion as they built businesses based on money they brought from the Gulf. 8. Jordan's capital, Amman, has more "Palestinians" than any other city in the world. 9. The Jordanian flag is therefore the EXACT same flag as the "Palestinian" flag- the only difference being the addition of a star for the King. 10. After World War I, various parts of the former Ottoman Empire in the Middle East were restructured. On April 11, 1921 the British gave the name The Emirate of Transjordan to about 80% of what they were due to be allocated as the Palestine mandate. It became an autonomous political state under British administration under the nominal auspices of the League of Nations. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jordan 11. At the end of World War I, the territory now comprising Israel, Jordan, the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, and Jerusalem was awarded to the United Kingdom by the League of Nations as the mandate for Palestine and Transjordan. In 1922, the British divided the mandate by establishing the semi-autonomous Emirate of Transjordan, ruled by the Hashemite Prince Abdullah, while continuing the administration of Palestine under a British High Commissioner. The mandate over Transjordan ended on May 22, 1946; on May 25, the country became the independent Hashemite Kingdom of Transjordan. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Jordan 12. 10. No need to find the answers outside
Atilla Karagözoğlu ,   Istanbul   (12.22.06)
No need to find the answers outside. The Muslim Countries will suffer until they turn to The God with all the heart and soul .

Kareem ,   Egypt   (12.22.06)
I agree with u...King Abdullah needs to change from being the Arab traitor he already is, and do sumthing about the Israeli Occupation of Palestinian lands!
13. #12 He has to be like his father.
Mark ,   USA   (12.22.06)
An active diplomat. He is full of talk and no action. I keep hearing the same statement over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over from him! Talk is Cheap!
14. #2 Rami You made a good point!
Mark ,   USA   (12.22.06)
Normally, a president would seize this opportunity and work for peace and make it their legacy. He is against peace. He is giving weapons to Abbas and that is not an act of peace. Mr. Bush refuses to work for peace even when presuured by Arab countries.
15. The King can work to avoid disaster
Mark ,   USA   (12.22.06)
What is he waiting for? WWW 3
16. #12 I see no action from many leaders
Mark ,   USA   (12.22.06)
Unfortunately, a war has to break out and then action may be taken. The Lebanon should have never lasted that long. I blame Bush. Bush wanted Israel to attack Syria. The real problem is George Bush. He opposes peace and supports terrorism worldwide.
17. To # 12
Benjamin R Hiatt ,   Portland Oregon, USA   (12.22.06)
Kareem, what makes you think Arab countries want Israel to end the occupation of the Palestinian territories? As long they can keep you whipped up into an anti-Jewish frenzy about the occupation they can keep you from focusing too much on your own lack of freedom and prosperity. It is the same maneuver Hitler used and seems to be working quite well. Why do you think they will not allow Palestinians to gain citizenship in your countries? As long as the Palestinian “cause” exists, you will just keep venting your anger and frustration on the Jews.
18. The Little King is Afraid....
Brant ,   Hilton Head, USA   (12.22.06)
Like his namesake great grandfather, Abdullah and even his peace-making father, Hussein, this King too is the beneficiary of a colonialist act in 1921 when young Winston Churchill drew a pencil line straight down the Jordan rift and simply said to Abdullah I,"everything east of this (he called it Trans-Jordan) is yours. There was no concern for the "Palestinian" people of the time; both Jews and Arabs. In 1979 King Hussein announced that "JORDAN IS NOT PALESTINE" and the rest of the world decided to agree thus brilliantly shifting all the responsibility for the "plight of the Palestinians" onto the Jews who, sadly, were too dumb at the time to say :ISRAEL IS NOT PALESTINE EITHER. The young King MUST assume his nations' responsibility for creating the Occupation by unnecessarily participating in the 1967 war and losing control of the West Bank. He has to one day realize that peace will come only once he makes the fight not just about no Palestinians crossing over his side of the border but about the abslolute legitimacy of Israel and its rights in the land; rights that are actually much better legally defined than that grease pencil act of 1921.
19. Jordan the True Aparthied Country
Sam Weinstein ,   USA   (12.22.06)
Jordan is the problem with the mid east conflict. 80% Palis ruled by 20% minority. Jordan is Palestine not Israel or Judea and Samaria.
20. No Peace Ever to #2
Sam ,   Florida, US   (12.22.06)
Hesbollah, Hamas, Fatah, Iran, Syria, russia and other islomafacist states do not want PEACE, can you all understand this. at this time and age seem like people are brainwashed to do peace with criminals. Read the article theat the PM of Canada wrote is the TRUTH.
21. That wife of his is not a bad looking broad... not at all.
Turkmenbashi   (12.22.06)
22. To Kareem from Egypt
#3 ,   USA   (12.22.06)
It would help if both Egypt and Jordan could directly influence the Palestinian governement by providing some structure and rule of law over the warring factions. That is the only way things are going to calm down over there. The people need security and economic viability. As I see it, the so-called "Israeli occupation" is not what is putting Palestinian aspirations for a future state in jeopardy. It is the failure of the Palestinian government to accept the responsibility that nation building is up to them, not Israel.

there was never peace in the mid east between palis and israel in 60 years. we've had tons on american presidents too and still no peace under any president. you guys are not interested in peace. you just simply want to wipe us out. guess what. we're not going anywhere!
26. little king seeks partners
DANIEL ,   Lod, Israel   (12.23.06)
Brant is right (#18), why Jordon did not act while west bank was ruled by them for 17 long years? Now he wants to settle the matter on some one else's cost! Reading in between the lines of the present King's speech; it smells he too is not far behind to participate in forth coming conflict with Israel.
27. #2 Arabs in western countries
Dan ,   Israel   (12.23.06)
People love to bash the Bush-agenda but what about the Arab-Moslem agenda. Arabs who live in western democracies in Europe, the US and in Israel who love to condemn western democracies for verything, rarely condemn the Arab Moslem dictatorships' extremism and hate-culture. Go and live the way you preach or keep your mouths shut.
