Paul ,   US   (12.23.06)
Ha! Mahmood...that is pretty funny although I think this is just all show and these guys are players in a much more grand and dangerous plan to a new world order. Rumors of wars to keep the peoples in fear. All this is like watching actors do thier scripts and look so rediculous doing it.
3. More Gray Hairs For George
Marcel ,   Florida   (12.23.06)
He thought that his plans would be easily accomplished . Iraq & Road Map ,both dismal failures and far from the 'Mission Accomplished ' arrogance of the empire in decline. pride has it's recompence. Israel had better not hold to tight to the rails of the Titanic as it sinks below the surface. Israel ,your hope is in Hashem alone.

5. It Is Only a Beginning
Dave Levi ,   Burbank. USA   (12.23.06)
This is just a slap in the face of the mad mullahs of Iran and their insane President. If left unchecked, eventually, a coalition of the brave will have to take out Iran's ability to wage nuclear and conventional warfare. I am not optimistic that Iran will change course. So, down the road, look for mushroom clouds.
6. Now its show time iran will
tea man ,   marjayoun leb   (12.23.06)
speed up undeclared activities on B-2 cascades which rumors to have 5000 of those and produce 10 nukes to add up to its 12 mounted bombs and to go full speed on production of the cruise missile it is like Carte Blanche all over again war is coming i digging a grave with tea table in it
7. Sanction does not work
Brod ,   USA   (12.23.06)
Sanction does not and will not work because the Islamist-Jihadist world will not adhere to the sanction. They will continue to do busines with Iran via the back door. The irrational and fanatical fascist Islamist-Jihadist regime of Iran does not care about sanction. To them, sanction or no sanction, they will continue to build their nukes to accomplish their evil intentions on Israel and the world.

MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (12.24.06)
Yes,Dave, keep on dreaming about the mushroom clouds............but make sure you see them in appropriate place..............these clouds may not only appear in Iran only. You are absolutely right in being pessimistic. If Middle East is to remain peaceful,Israel will have to also make a move.I remain pessimistic about that......therefore,Iran is equipped equally well to defend its right.
14. Mahmood and 1.5 billion idiots....
DR ,   Florida, USA   (12.24.06)
Wow, sanctions on Iran, who would have thought? Again, this is a small, unthreatening step by the iternational community to show Iran that it is heading in the wrong direction. Hopefully the good people in Iran will start to realize that their little, evil leader is not the right person for the job. You two obviously cannot see reality due to years of brainwashing, but I think there are still lucid people out there. I hope you start realizing that everything you stand for and defend is WRONG!
15. THE CERTAIN IDIOTIC DR #14
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (12.24.06)
DR, everything seems to be in order,I am afraid. That is the reason why, within hours of UN sanctions,Condoliza Rice had to utter few words to the Press stating that more action is needed. What I don't understand is your boggled mind. Can't you understand that these sanctions were already agreed for by Iran and Russia. No one is brainwashing no one.Reality is what YOU have to see, which, unfortunately, you are unable to do so.Don't you worry about President Ahmed Nejad.Replacing him would mean Rafsanjani..................who,once again to your misfortunate is more articulate than your tiny brain.Seek some assistance from people in Florida for a change,DR
16. Mahmood in Londonistan....
DR ,   Florida, USA   (12.25.06)
If you are such a staunch supporter of Iran, Hamas, Hezballah, then why do you live in London? Would you be scraed to opine in these other places? Just give it time, my friend, and you will see how wrong you are about , well, pretty much everything. I know that you hope and pary that Iran will get nukes and use them against Israel, and that the US and your homland will fall, BUT, I don't think your wishes will ever be granted.
17. THE UNCERTAIN DR...........#16
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (12.25.06)
Once again, you are proved wrong. My residence in Uk has nothing to do with worldly matters that dont in anyway affect my being in UK.Opinions are expressed from wherever you are. So,please stop suggesting things which are irrelevant. Not a single talk-back where I have suggested anything to do with nuking Israel or even start a war or all the crap that you write.I have no wishes as such but follow the even where at every juncture, I have made you passive and irrelevant. What time are we taliking about?I dont have to prove myself right all the time. But since you have started your rhetorics agains President Ahmed Nejad, ironically,he is making more progress and your vehemence increases by the day. You should improve on your articles and come up with unbiased suggestions rather than wasting your time writing and developing more hatred towards people whom your own leaders are sending messages for some kind of talks to resolve various issue in the Middle East.

19. NL!! Hi.. :)
Lynne   (12.26.06)
I'm very sorry it took me long to reply but I was very busy during the past few days.. I hope you read this.. I agree with you that fighter vs fighter is legitimate while blowing oneself up in a mall or firing katyushas onto civilians is not.. but I don't think you're getting my point.. if you happen to think that Hezbollah attacking Israeli soldiers is illegitamate because it is not in a warzone.. then what do you think of Israel's attack on Gaza after the kidnap of the Israeli soldier a few days before Hezbollah's attack on the Israeli soldiers?? Gaza is a warzone.. Israel hadn't only been violating the Lebanese air.. but I should remind you that AFTER 2000 Israel was carrying out assassinations INSIDE the Syrian and Lebanese territories.. it had also attacked a village next to Damascus... aren't those declerations of war?? I never said that Israel had planned the war before the kidnapping in order to retaliate against Hezbollah for the rocket attacks.. (this was what you said NL and not me!) what I said is that there are some analyses that say this war was planned against LEBANON before the kidnapping.. I disagree with you on the fact that if Sheba'a farms were returned Hezbollah will not disarm.. Hezbollah never used or threatened to use their arms inside Lebanon and this is a point that even their enemies confess.. quite the contrary without the efforts of Hezbollah people in South Lebanon would have never had the chance to have hospitals, schools,.. etc.. I think this is the reason why Hezbollah have gained this much support and trust from the Lebanese people and Arabs and Muslims worldwide.. not because they attack Israel but because they protect Lebanon.. most people realise that if it wasn't for Hezbollah the South of Lebanon would have become now part of Israel.. another thing is that Hezbollah , although a Shiite organisation it aids Sunnis, Christians and Shiites just the same.. the protests in Beirut are not only launched by Hezbollah.. nost Lebanese political and religious sects are not represented in this government.. there is one dominant party in this government that is taking control... and it is the 14th February party.. ALL others are rejected.. Nasrallah had stated out in public that Hezbollah will not take part in the new government they are asking for but they will give Hezbollah's seats in the government to other members of the opposition..anyway I don't see why Israel is worried that Hezbollah will not disarm if they return Sheba'a and Hezbollah will use their arms inside Lebanon.. is Israel so worried about the Lebanese people?? all Lebanese parties should be represented democratically in the government whatever theri positions from Israel!! you don't hear the Lebanese people or Arabs interfering in the fact of who should Israelis vote in their governments!!
20. ooops NL.. 2nd part!!
Lynne   (12.26.06)
why I say that Palestinians regard Hamas as their protector??.. not because I support suicide attacks.. or any sort of violence.. not at all and I insist that in Islam suicide is an unforgivable sin and attacking civilians is another unforgivable sin.. let alone doing both at the same time!! but because I can see their side of the conflict.. I understand that umlike Israel they do not have a strong army to defend themselves.. and because they are the ones interested in liberating their lands and not Israel.. so naturally they are the ones who will form resistance organisatioins.. (regardless of how ethical the stratetgy used by those organisations) .. I don't think it's fair to say that Palestinian attacks inside Israel are terrorist while Israel's attacks inside Palestine are self-defense.. I condemn both.. and I see both as crimes whatever label they use.. but since you are an Israeli I am here to represent to you the Palestinian side and tell you where I think Israel is wrong.. with a Palestinian I assure you that I do not hesitate in discussing their mistakes with them.. you're right when you say that it is impossible to negotiate with someone who refuses to recognise you and this is in fact another thing I am against Hamas in.. both sides should recognise one another and stop trying to ignore the other side's existence.. I'm also sorry for the long past.. I didn't plan to write all this.. hehe.. Merry Christmas NL!!
21. Hey Lynne! Happy Holidays
NL ,   Israel   (12.26.06)
(Can I say Happy Eid? Is it happy or somber?). I hope you had an easy move and are enjoying the new city. 1. Shalit was within Israeli territory when he was kidnapped; it's the same principle I used before of infiltration = act of war, leads to retaliation. I think I'm still misunderstanding what you're trying to ask me. 2. Had a war been planned against Lebanon prior to the kidnappings, it still would have been in response to Hizbullah rocket fire. I don't think it's realistic to think it would have been targeted indiscriminately at non-Hizbullah Lebanese. Notice, for example, the areas that were bombed in Beirut. They were in Hizbullah areas; meanwhile people were going to cafes in neighboring quarters of Beirut, knowing that they would be safe there, bc the attack wasn't targeting Lebanon/Lebanese in general, but rather the Hizbullah strongholds. 3. Regarding Lebanon gov't, many parties aren't represented, but isn't that the result of a democratic election? 4. My point was that I don't think Hizbullah would want to relinquish their military power bc it would be of use within Lebanon. Thus, they would have arms. Thus, if they felt like, they could use the arms against Israel. Considering their occasional claims that their violence is to help their Palestinian brethren (the excuse for the kidnapping, for example), it's not unreasonable to think that they could find a 'reason' to target Israel, if they still had weapons. 5. (From 2nd post): I don't think terrorist acts are based on location. I think they're based on whom they target. For example, I think that Asher Weisgan (who shot 4 unarmed people near Shilo) is a terrorist. Suicide bombings, as well as rockets, target civilians. Targeting militants within Gaza and West Bank is different. And, I still maintain that, although civilians are killed in WB and Gaza, they are not being targeted. 6. On this last point, I want to emphasize that, for example, the soldier who shot the 14 year old girl is still under investigation and his commander has been completely relieved of command duty ever again. In other words, the IDF demands responsiblity and accountability, even following ACCIDENTAL civilian deaths, and censures civilians deaths. In the mean time, Hamas encourages the rocket attacks/targeting of civilians. A recent survey showed almost 50 percent of Palestinians think that rocket attacks are helping their cause and many (although less than 50 percent) still support Hamas. This kind of worries me... 7. My name is Noa - I think we've earned a move to a first name basis by now, don't you? :) You might still want to post talkbacks to NL or Noa L since Noa is currently the most popular girl's name in this country. 7. May I suggest we move to 'PM's office: There will be no negotiations with Syria' article from Dec. 26th?
22. OK Noa, I'll post my reply over there! :)
