1. Then what's the point?
Shai ,   Israel   (12.25.06)
If "I hope the meeting will pave the way for more; but it does not guarantee an end to the terror and violence,” then what is the point of your "diplomatic plan"? Politcians like you have always been as interested in the process than the peace. We have no use for such perspectives. If that results in blood and fire, it's high time you dealt with it rather than stuck your head in the sand like an ostrich. You'll cause the death of us all, yet.
2. Rightist politicians focusing on NOTHING!
disgusted rightist ,   Israel   (12.25.06)
The rightist politicians seem to have forgotten that, even if they didn't win the elections, that they still have a responsibility to represent the opinions of their constituents. Hello?! Anyone there? You're part of the opposition. You're supposed to OPPOSE! Lieberman? You switched sides. At first I thought that you might try to create change from within, but you have done nothing but thrown out the occasional restrained sound byte once you joined up. Bibi. You speak so nicely; you clearly like running your mouth. Why so silent suddenly? Why only struggling against Olmert's inane policy on the rare occasion that you get air time? And National Union? WHERE ARE YOU? Has anyone heard a peep from Effie Eitam or his buddies recently? SHAME on you, Mr. Eitam. Shame on you, NU-NRP. I voted for you exactly because I thought you wouldn't punk out like Bibi, but you have been nothing but a disappointment post-Syria fiasco. HALF OF THIS COUNTRY VOTED FOR YOU GUYS! HOW DARE YOU BE SILENT NOW! HOW DARE YOU FORGET WHAT AN OPPOSITION IS FOR! Menachem Begin must be spinning in his grave like a tire during the Formula 1 racing series.
3. The Left Prefers Suicide
Jerry ,   NYC, USA   (12.25.06)
Olmert's attacks on the "Right" show what he is, from the "Left". Sharon put a leftist clown in charge of Israel, because he kissed Sharon's butt. This is Sharon's legacy.
4. Who else wanted to use 'blood, sweat, tears'? Churchill
historian ,   Israel   (12.25.06)
Yes, indeed. "Blood, toil, tears and sweat" were Churchill's choice, instead of appeasement. Why? Because his goal was "victory at all costs. Victory in spite of all terrors." Clearly, such a result is not Olmert's objective.
5. Olmert is following instructions from the USA!
naro ,   nyc usa   (12.25.06)
Olmert has become a lap dog for the USA. He gets his instructions from Bush and Rice. Israel has become so totaly dependent on the USA that it really feels it has no choice.
6. "the (2007) budget impressively addresses both security and
Israel   (12.25.06)
social issues". Yep, and guess who is going to cop the bill? Company car owners. What a disgrace.
7. OLMERT IS SO FOOLISH,HE WEARS NICE CLOTHES THOUGH
..............DACON9   (12.25.06)
prime minister said, “We hope to formulate a diplomatic plan soon. The difference between us and the Right is that they only speak of blood, sweat and tears, but they do not offer a diplomatic plan or course. They have no proposal.” ONLY TIME ISRAEL HAD PEACE FOR ANY SHORT TIME WAS WHEN THEY WENT TO WAR. THEN WHEN ISRAEL WENT SOFT AND DIPLOMATIC THE ENEMY GREW STRONG AGAIN AND JEWS WERE PERSECUTED AGAIN. YEAH REALLY? IS THAT TRUE? YEP, SURE IS,
8. Israel ! accept or not...
Atilla Karagözoğlu ,   Istanbul   (12.25.06)
You dont have a better name than Olmert, now. ---------------------- There are times I doubt about the angry on Olmert. I mean no one likes him but He always look okey. No body try to take him down with opening his old books. Yes, there are times I dont believe the press on Olmert. Whats that ! is it a national strategy ? Olmert no good....Olmert no good.... But behind the closed doors ! GO OLMERT... GO OLMERT :)) --------------------------- Ynet ! please dont let any reader to attack me. Me love you :))))
9. Harsh words
yaakov ,   Jerusalem   (12.25.06)
from someone who is constantly kissing(literally) every foreigner in his presence from the German pope to this Shoah- Denier(abu-mazen). I am always surprised he knows what their diplomatic"faces" look like since he is more accustomed to KTA.....
10. OLMERT YOU ARE THE WORST PM OF THE ISRAEL HISTORY
(12.25.06)
11. OLMERT DO U KNOW THAT THE MAJORITY OF ISRAELIS IS AGAINST U
(12.25.06)
12. Islamic terror & violence 21st century neverending SoapOpera
KMR ,   Middle East   (12.25.06)
13. Olmert has no solution
Francois ,   Montreal   (12.25.06)
Having a look at relationships with Arabs proves that this conflict has no diplomatic solution to at least, nor right now, neither any time soon. Olmert has nothing to propose except empty talks, more appeasement and more surrending. On the long run, this kind of politics make peace more and more unachievable.
14. Better than Olmert? Anyone.
Jonathan M. Boyko ,   Ofrah, Israel   (12.25.06)
Olmert says that right doesn't have a "plan". Not true - right lacks leadership, rather than plan - but Olmert is entitled to his opinion. However, what's better - not having a political plan, or caving in to terrorism, releasing prisoners and dismantling checkposts - all this as a "gesture of good will" - another useless act - as proven by this intifada. To remind readers, this isn't the first time Israeli gov't issues a "gesture of good will" and each time it was seen by Palestinians as weakness and increased attacks. Amir Peretz, instead of listening to people who understand a thing or two about security - like General Naveh, for example - prefers dismantling checkposts - something Naveh says will make it easier for the Palestinians to commit attacks against Israelis. Do we actually need another suicide attack or two to understand "gestures of good will" never works?
15. IT'S NOT ME OLMERT! IT'S ALL OF YOU THAT ARE IDIOTS!
olmert the fool   (12.25.06)
I'm sooooo brainy!!!
16. Left focuses on grabing anything from leftovers!!
KMR ,   Middle East   (12.25.06)
17. I have a little plan. It's here somewhere,..
Gideon Reader ,   Boca(US)   (12.25.06)
Then are we to asume that PM Olmert has a plan other than "blood & fire" to bring peace and tranquility? If he has such a "plan" do members of the cabinet, the Knesset or the Kadima party itself have any awareness of it? Has it been stated anywhere. In public? In private? With whom was it discussed? With whom was it planned? With whom of the security establishment and IDF was it discussed and subjected to professional scrutiny and vetting? What is the general outline of the plan, or is it a "secret" plan, known only to Olmert? When was the plan generated? Does the MinDef have awareness of the plan? The MinForeign. Is she aware and has she vetted the plan? The Prime Minister has some serious 'splaining to do. God! When will this bit of political excrement fade from the scene?
18. Proposal #1
Steve ,   USA   (12.25.06)
B"H The first proposal is to demonstrate competance with regards to the rocket launches. That means taking a picture of every rocket launcher that launches before the launch takes place and scoring 90% or higher in that endevor. The second proposal is to negotiate with that book on hand, stating that these are the facts and this needs to be dealt with and seeing what the price is for it to be resolved so that NO rockets fall on Sderot or Ashkelon. These are proposals that have as far as I can tell been totally ignored; instead the IDF's hands have been tied by Peretz and Olmert so that Abbas gets all the kisses and Sderot gets all the missiles. Saying there are no proposals form the right-wing is simply not true.
19. What does Olmert stand for?
Avraham ,   Netivot   (12.25.06)
Nothing! He is the worst P.M.& this is the worst government we ever had. Everyone lost their backbone & forgot why they were elected. What a bunch of lousy, gutless loosers! We need Moshiach now!
20. Olmert focuses on appeasment ,defeat, and failure
Marcel ,   Florida   (12.25.06)
Wheres the peace Puppet fools minister Olmert ? The enemy prepares for war and you assist them.
21. #2 is right. Where is the political right?
Steve   (12.25.06)
This is madness. Mr. Olmert is ruining the country. Where is the right? This man is going to cost us dearly in blood and lives if we don't wake up. He wants to negotiate with men who lie awake at night planning Israel's demise! There is no diplomatic solution with murderers. It's pure delusion and fantasy. Have we not learned anything from history? Mr. Bush has botched the war-effort in Iraq. Iraq is a disaster. Mr. Bush holds delusional veiws of the enemy we face. Mr. Olmert puts his faith in George W. Bush? Bush is a failed war-time president. Secretary of State Rice strong-armed Israel's defense minister into opening up the Rafah border crossing to unimpeded flow of weapons and jihadists from Egypt and Mr. Olmert relies on Ms. Rice to conduct the recent war in Lebanon. Bush has invested much political capital toward Israel's demise through his Saudi-inspired "vision" of a Palestinian terrorist state in Gaza, Judea, Samaria, Jerusalem. Bush embraces, prays with, holds hands with and kisses Muslim jihadists in their mosques, in the White House and at his Crawford, Texas ranch; the same Muslim terrorists that support the jihad against the U.S. President Bush has made it abundantly clear through his newly appointed Secretary of Defense --- Robert Gates, the CIA deputy director who built Saddam Hussein's arsenal in the 1980s ---- Israel is on her own against a nuclear Iran and Olmert places his faith in Bush who only a few months back insisted the U.S. would not allow a nuclear Iran. Mr. Olmert believes there is a diplomatic route with jihadists like Holocaust-denier, Munich massacre financier, Mahmoud Abbas --- Yasser Arafat's right hand man. This man Olmert will single-handedly destroy Israel as the right looks on.
22. And Olmert Focuses on Kickbacks
malcolm   (12.25.06)
The Traitor is lecturing. Pay attention.
23. Olmert is Pathetic
Gary ,   Boston USA   (12.25.06)
This guy Olmert is beyond bad, he does not have the ability to govern a cow farm yet alone a country
24. If Liberman hadn't joined the govt......
Z Lando ,   Tekoa, Israel   (12.25.06)
Olmert would be out of power.
25. I never met one single men say Olmert did his best
(12.25.06)
you know, it is not fair. it is not. you got to have, protect your leader when he needs your love and respect. I believe he did try his best. He is not a God that he can make all of you happy. Just a man. Now He has very good experience. You should let him stay one more time. GO OLMERT :))) GO OLMERT :))) Note: Sure we (WE, BOTH SIDES) lost many people in war, while he was PM. Our conversation is out of any politics. Good evening to all. See you tomorrow. Let me go to israelinsider web. Let me drive them crazyyyy :))) you know I am kidding. I am for LOVE. AND WONT CHANGE. 26. Sooo, Olmert is a Democrat...
Ironcandle ,   Atlanta, GA   (12.25.06)
27. middle east
tommy ,   belfast uk   (12.25.06)
If Israel were to make the oil producing fields of iran ---so defective as to become unuseable ..I believe peace would follow on its heels throughout the middle-east---- or at least be on the table
28. 10% is still business
D ,   Israel   (12.25.06)
29. #24 Lieberman?
Steve   (12.25.06)
Why did he join with Kadima? Why did he sell himself out and his principles? Netanyahu did similarly. He stayed and stayed in Ariel Sharon's capitulationist / expulsion cabinet, voting for budgets that funded the Gaza expulsion, only resigning at the very last moment just prior to the August 2005 expulsion. Seems to me by joining with these men, you are party to their immoral agenda. So Lieberman is with Olmert now, heart and soul they are joined. We no longer seem to have men (or women) of principle in Israel's government.
30. olmert's diplomacy
Arie ,   Afula   (12.25.06)
