As a committed Jew who made aliyah 25 yrs ago I can tell you that my biggest disappointment is with the religious establishment. The haredi community and religious establishment is filled with parasites who view their less observant co-religionists with contempt. We have good and bad in all Jewish communities. You may know, before the Holocaust, Ze'ev Jabotinsky warned that the ghettos of Europe needed to be evacuated because he could see what was coming. Most rabbis throughout Europe repudiated these wanings and told their flocks to stay put. Some feared the loss of power were they to immigrate to the Holy Land. The rest is history.
