the tabloid journalism of the Israeli press (except for Ha-Aretz) is amusing. If there is something sleazy happening they will report it. If there's soimething sleazy not happening, they'll report that too.

While I don't necessarily condone what Rabin did when he sent his money to Switzerland, over the years he more than paid his dues to the State of Israel.

I disagree with you about the 'payment'. Anyway, I argue that whilst he called the emmigrants 'Nefolet Nemushot' , he robbed the country, and also that such hypocrisy is incompatible with leadership. Did you ask yourself why is the Israeli society so corrupt ?

I find it curious that Dana writes her scathing comment on Yordim from.....New York. In any event, I too am a Yored (after making Aliyah), who works very hard to support and educate my family, etc. I find her comment, or repetition of an offhand remark by Rabin, to be extremely offensive, and indicative of a lot of the ignorance that abounds about Yordim. Maybe she was cheated by a camera store dealer in NY once, but one cannot generalize.
