1. Read my lips: no more coverup
U.S. politicians are fond of the phrase "Read my lips, no more taxes" etc. I suggest the IDF read the lips of its officers, and say "no more coverup"--or the next war, without G-d's intervention, may be its last.

No accountability, no responsibility, cover-your-ass, mentality is the kind of bureaucratic thinking that will undermine the IDF. But, it all starts at the top - our political leadership is the source of the problem. Sorry, I meant to say our lack of political leadership. I read once - I think in an essay by Max Weber - that bureaucracies tend to forget the goals, the purpose, of what they were created to accomplish & replace it with new goals, being to protect the bureaucracy itself. Our various bureaucracies are the perfect examples. Rather than serve the people, they serve themselves.
