Despite ALL your concerns, we have among the best scientists in the world, top technology, a nice number of new Nobel Price awardees, excellent musicians, superb medicine for the poor (of ANY race or religion), our universities are full of promising youngsters, and we even have a nice bunch of olympic medalists.

It's funny how you Americans make such a big deal out of the economic aid you give us. Want me to let you in on a secrted? Your economic "aid" is not aid at all. It is a polite way of bribing Israeli politicians, thereby INCREASING the corruption in our country. We don't want your tax money in American aid, which by the way makes up only 1% of Israel's total economy (so it can afford to wage wars and build walls with or without you). Stop acting like it's you who is being abused - your money is hurting this country more than any Katyusha rocket or suicide bomber.

I don't doubt that he was corrupt, but I think there was a far more sinister goal behind the disengagement. The civil war we are seeing right now in Gaza is a result of the disengagement, and I dont doubt that this was Sharon's goal all along. He was a military man - each of his moves were tactical and it is a mistake to think that he took them simply for more money.

Israel certainly is corrupt, but. In the U.S., the Bush Administration and a Republican Congress sold out the whole country to special interests. Clinton was only a little better. An honest democracy is hard to find. But where is there an honest totalitarian society?

Wecome to Israel-the country with laws divided into three parts, The Managers or Bosses, The Religous (with no offence) and The People. The Bosses who take and do what they like and get away with murder, The Religous with their own laws and Am Yisrael-the workers who have to toil for their bread, overpaying for almost everything in this country -a daily struggle and pay dearly for any mistakes. These tax people should get maximum sentences if found guilty-enough is enough, this is about as low as we could possibly go. All their friends tax files should be reopened immediately and taxes paid reasessed.

Well what do you expect, corruption is in all places in the government here from the top down. It seems that the term politician here is synomous with corruption now adays. It would be great to find any politician who is not corrupt but I don't think there is such an animal.

The very fact that Israel has indited these officials is the evidence that the system is working. Consider if this had taken place in USA. The police would have looked the other way. That is the failure of a just system. Israel is not in danger from this. It is a sign of her strength, to be just, no matter what the cost.
