31. #29 - How NOT to win friends...
Kate ,   Jerusalem   (01.08.07)
Your signature claim of "welcoming Jews and Non-Jews" is a bit out of place following your ill-toned talkbacks. This is a "press article" - a few brief paragraphs and they are VERY well written. Your talkbacks (27 & 29) are also a few brief paragraphs. Filled with history and resounding insults both to the author and any other human who doesn't see things your way. Perhaps you should rethink your strategy if you are indeed intending to "welcome" anyone.
32. Kate #31 Welcoming versus "Winning Friends"
Paqid 16 Netzarim ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (01.08.07)
There's a fundamental difference between welcoming people and "winning friends." I welcome those who DO their utmost to practice Torah: to pursue justice for victims, who extend their hand to those in need, who DO something to right injustice, fight corruption, expose hypocrisy, and remedy other wrongs. I have no desire to be a silver-tongued televangelist or "win friends" like most empty clerics who stand for nothing but popularity. Nor have I any respect for them. I stand for something; and actually standing for something has been out of vogue for eons and has never been popular. Those who don't DO the things set forth in Torah and Halakhah are sanctimonious hypocrites who deserve, and shall receive, my rebuke and condemnation, whether they are Orthodox, Ultra-Orthodox, non-Orthodox or goyim. Why don't you redirect the same effort into DOING something for the Africans whom the author described, and who are in such dire straits, instead of presuming to preach to me? Compared to their plight, your orientation is petty. Fix your focus on this: What are YOU doing to help those Africans??? I suspect the author of the article would also prefer that and is probably as angry as I am over their situation, Get angry! DO what Torah demands instead of preaching mush. 33. and I thought Gaza sounded grim

Talk about a sad tale to hear. I never thought that colonialism sounded liked the preferred option, but this woeful posting actually makes it sound appealing.
34. I'm shocked, appalled and ashamed...
Pamela ,   Conway, United State   (01.09.07)
I can't believe some of the talkbacks...who decided this was a Jew thing, and why bring religion or race into it? This is worse than Ruwanda and that tore my husband and myself up. Anytime where you have humans practicing rabid beastial behavior and committing atrocities on any select group of people is frightening, ungodly, and should be stopped! The only problem. What can we do? People all over the world are having problems with their governments, terrorists, criminals and just trying to provide for their families which is getting harder and harder to do. What insight do you have on how any government can help? I'm intelligent, but disabled on disability and poor. For half my life I have had to struggle each week, to eat, pay rent, just live. I want to help everyone, especially these poor women whom I've heard about years ago on a major news network;...but how? I'm a poet, a writer...but unpaid...could I write an effective letter that would reach the proper eyes and channel some emotive force into a heart that could catapult a crusade to save them? I've tried. All I can do is pray, I pray for them, I pray for the world. Being a woman of faith, I pray for Jesus to come and this world to end. It only gets progressively worse. So we win a battle, the war just changes fields. The only things that makes life worth living anymore are the blessings of God to those who accept them, and the wonderful hearts of individuals who continue to work ceaselessly to make this world better. What can we do??? I hope I get a reply. My name is Pami Jane.

You're doing a disservice to whatever organization you represent with your nasty comments. You have an attitude problem, sir. Who would want to visit your website site or contact you after reading your talkbacks?
